The New York Steak House has been on our regular birthday and holiday season rotation for years, so it was a pleasure to return for my Birthday. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This is not just another steakhouse; it's a carnivore's paradise that leaves a lasting impression. One peek at the revamped menu with a significant upgrade on various Wagyu selections is what caught my attention. But the real eye-grabber was the inclusion of Australia's Westhomle Beef on the new menu, which has the reputation of offering one of the best Wagyu beef eating experiences in the world. While they have an abundant selection of higher grade Wagyu, for me, the decision came down to either the 22 oz 45 days dry-aged T-Bone 4 marble or to go all in on the 32 oz 45 days dry-aged Porterhouse 4 marble..
The main event – the steak – was nothing short of spectacular. I ordered a T-bone that was cooked to perfection. Indeed it was a carnivore's dream with a slightly charred exterior and a buttery mouthwatering taste with each bite.
The table-side Caesar salad preparation added a layer of culinary artistry to the dining experience. The skilled server meticulously crafted the salad right in front of us, combining the freshest ingredients with a flavourful dressing that was perfectly balanced. It was a visual and sensory delight, and the taste was unmatched. The crisp romaine lettuce, the nutty parmesan cheese, the zesty dressing, and the perfectly toasted croutons all came together in a harmonious symphony of flavours. It was a wonderful touch that showcased the restaurant's commitment to providing a unique and memorable dining experience.
We couldn't resist trying some of the delectable sides as well. The Cheesy spinach was creamy and decadent and perfectly complemented the steak.
The impeccable service, the delectable appetizer, the exquisite steak, and the sumptuous sides all come together to create a truly unforgettable dining experience. If you're a steak enthusiast, this is a destination you cannot afford to miss. I can't wait to return on Christmas Eve to dig into the 32 oz dry-aged Westholme...
Read moreI had high hopes based on the reviews and upon entering but it seems really hard to get a good steak. I'm wondering with all the 5 star reviews, makes me sad because you haven't had a good steak....
The salad was pretty bad. You get a better salad for $5-10 USD anywhere. It had no seasoning and tasteless. It's really sad. How hard is it really to make a good salad?
Then I ordered the Little Joe at ₿2,800 8oz steak medium well. It looked amazing but... It came out almost rare. You're a steak place and you do not know how to cook to temperature? The biggest issue though is no seasoning. It's crazy that I had to add salt. This ridiculous. Even the peppercorn sauce wasn't seasoned well.
I ordered the bake potato which came out plane, no butter just bacon. What? No salt no pepper... Although I'm not a chef, I can cook better at home, that's a problem.
The cream corn was just mayo and corn... It was ok but I hate mayo and in the USA cream corn is not this. Just serve the corn with the cheese. Way better. Roasted seasoned corn with a crust.
The mocktail at ₿250 was a joke. It was just expensive breakfast juice. Wow!! 😡🤮
The good news... The bread was really good and tasted fresh. Also, the service was really good. Not 5-star but they were so nice and kind. Everyone was welcoming and attentive without being overly.
Bottom line... At these prices. Wow! Why would anyone eat here. I was hoping it was going to be really good. I've had better streaks in Bali at a Courtyard for much less money $$
It's just sad that anyone thinks this is good... I hope this helps you. Hate to rate places 1 star but I wish more people were honest.
₿4,445 or around $145 USD is just crazy
BTW you get a 10% discount and earn points if you are Marriott...
Read moreI’d match this head-to-head with a Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris, or Flemings for the quality of the beef and service, which, simply put, is outstanding. In terms of ambience, this steakhouse edges them out; it is small and intimate, though there are several rooms available for larger parties or families. The dining experience was wonderful and private; service, outstanding. Several choices of beef were available- US Prime, Australian Waygu, or Japanese; we went with the US Prime Ribeye and New York Strip, medium rare. The steaks were cooked to perfection, delicious, tender, and accompanied by a bone with seasoned marrow (delicious), and a slice of mushroom. Both steaks were large in size, so my wife had the iceberg lettuce salad, and I had the Tuna Tartar. Both were outstanding. The New York Steakhouse has a nice wine list, starting around 1,900 THB and going up from there. The wine list includes Italian, French, Argentinian, Chilean, and Australian wines, among others (I think, bit am unsure if I recall correctly, American and German). We settled on a delicious Spanish Rioja. I had a great Perfect Martini, and my wife enjoyed a Mimosa, prior to the start of our meal, and at the end, we shared a wonderful creme brûlée, and a Taylor’s Tawny Port. The only other steak I have had in Thailand that I could say rivaled what is available in America was a filet mignon in Chiang Mai; I have to say that the New York Steakhouse is my benchmark for the entire country of Thailand. If you have a special occasion, or just want a great steak and dining experience in Bangkok (or the whole of Thailand), this...
