This is a small 'shophouse' size hotel with a bar at the entrance - more on that later. It is owned and run by Indians, who also own a typical for the area tailors that has an entrance into the hotel. There was a rather large Thai lady also at reception who was wonderfully friendly and fun, but she is leaving to work elsewhere. She will leave a void, as the Indian staff lack personality and are not particularly hospitable.||The room. I had a 'junior suite' which was a room and not a suite. Thailand often defines things with a sense of grandeur rather than accuracy - a manager at another hotel told me suite is a name, not a description. But at the price I knew what I was getting and it was good value. The standout feature was an enormous sofa running along an entire wall and which you needed to ascend three steps to reach. As I found the bed rather hard (other opinions surely vary) I actually chose to sleep on it one night as it was softer.||There is an abundance of LED lighting which I suppose is meant to add to a hip impression they are trying to create, but it doesn't really work. Better they enhance the poor lighting in the bathroom, although the main room was bright enough. The bathroom, apart from the lighting, was good with a decent walk-in shower.||There was a new air conditioner, which worked well. But the control of an old one, seen as soon as you walk in and still showing lights, doesn't work and it was only after staff showed me the control for the new one they'd placed at the far side of the room that I realised my error. Why they don't remove or cover up the old one with tape to avoid confusion and why it still shows 'live' lights, I have no idea. Typically a Thai half-done job which as a resident I'm very used to.||There were no less than four signs in my room instructing me not to smoke, and a warning that the tiny bar at the front was not part of the hotel but rented, and they were not responsible for any fights with bar girls or patrons there. Welcome to the...
Read moreThis review is for the BAR. I really enjoyed the service and it was nice chatting with them. Next time, I will definitely try the hotel because of their bar. :)
I recently visited the bar and I need to bring star down from 5 to 1. It was Friday late night, and there was no other customers. The girl working at the bar asked me for a drink. When I said ok, she asked if I can buy for her two other colleagues. I was like ok why not. She grabbed one small bottle of beer and pour it in a glass. She handed a glass to her colleague, and she drank whatever left in the bottle. Another colleague/girl didn't drink and left from ther. Later the handed me 600+ Baht for my drink (one small beer) and their three drinks (500+). I knew what they were doing, and I just played dumb because amount is not too much and they feel smart and happy doing that. I used to come to this bar because it is not crowded and tipped them every time I ordered a...
Read moreI've stayed at Heaven at 4 over the years and I find it's value for money. Theres no pool or gym but that's not what I'm here for. It's my base while exploring and a comfy bed at the end of the day. Night life is a few minutes walk from the front door so it's just as easy to stagger back after a big night. Breakfast is basic, and that suits me too. Pool table out the front with a bar for alcohol bevvies and watch the people walk on bye.. 7/11 to the left, laundry to the right. That's handy... Over all, it's always been clean when I've stayed. The room is serviced everyday with beds made and mini bar and toiletries topped up. I'm always nice to the staff and the staff have always been nice to me. Of you want a pool, room service and the other fancy stuff, this probably isn't the place for you. I recommend it for both short and...
