Sandalay Resort — Hotel in Pattaya City

We booked the family room for just a night because the pictures online were not that appealing. But when we reached the hotel, we loved the location so much we booked the rest of our stay there.

The room has a kingsize bed, a single bed and an extra bed, more than enough for four of us. It has three balconies and one bath with a separate shower and a bathtub. The room had a beautiful view of the ocean.

The beds were soft and comfortable. There was a table and two chairs, two other tables that served as landing spots for items, a cloth drying rack in the balcony which is handy in beach resorts.

The water pressure was okay, the sink had hot water which our other five star hotel doesn't have.

The room was bright at night but as almost all other hotels in Thailand, too dark and dim at night. The wifi was good enough. The tv channels useless for us. There were enough power outlets for all four phones. There were two lifts and the wait time was very less unlike bigger hotels.

The restaurant and bar served as our breakfast buffet area, which was beach-front. We always had breakfast and had a little walk on the beach every morning. We loved Sandalay hotel for this. We could go to the beach any time of day without making any special effort. Also we got the room at a really good price considering its location and amenities which made me give it a good review. At a higher price point, the rating would go a star lower.

The pool was not awe inspiring to look at but great to swim in. Hotels let us sign out beach towels to take to the beach.

The breakfast was frankly meh. Tasteless and repetitive. Plain steamed rice without good gravies to go with. Their cappuccino broke down after the first day which was hugely negative for me. But breakfast everywhere in Thailand, to me, never taste as good as they look. From five star Tower suite Lebua, Berkeley Pratunam to three and four stars I've stayed at. Even the fruits are bland and not as sweet as in the street food stalls. I don't know why.

All in all, Sandalay Resorts decor is not luxurious or modern, but their amenities are very good, the location is excellent, close to everything, staff are accomodating and polite enough. A great place to stay on a budget...

Not Worth the Price | Disappointing Service | Decent Location

I recently stayed at this hotel (to be specific - February 2025) , and while it has some positives, the overall experience was disappointing.

The rooms are clean but extremely small, lacking enough space to move around comfortably. The toilet is also cramped, and the lighting in both the room and the bathroom is too dim. One major inconvenience is the absence of a mirror in the room, making it difficult to get ready.

On the positive side, the hotel is located by the seaside, making beach access very convenient. The restaurant offers a nice sea-facing view, which enhances the dining experience.

However, the biggest letdown was the service. The staff is not courteous, and some are outright rude. I simply requested some tea bags, and the way they reacted was shockingly unpleasant—as if I had asked for something unreasonable. The housekeeping lady on the third floor accused me of stealing when I tried to take tea bags from her cart. Seriously? Is this how guests are treated? This level of hostility over something as trivial as tea bags is unacceptable.

Additionally, the restaurant staff restricts guests from using more than two sugar sachets—even in a buffet setting—which feels unreasonable and unwelcoming.

Overall, while the hotel itself is decent, the poor hospitality and lack of basic guest-friendly service make it a bad choice for the price. There are definitely better options available that offer a more comfortable and respectful experience. I won’t be booking this...

In fact, this was my second time to choose this hotel already stayed here in 2017 in room standard Seaview category which have partial Seaview. But this time I chose Grand Deluxe Seaview which will be sea facing after doing lots of review on trip advisor and YouTube vlogs and personal own experience I choose this hotel. On arrival nothing been change in last couple of years cannot see and renovation work been carried out. I have been allotted room #420 staff of the hotel is not rude but not such happy smiling faces check in quick and smooth they took 1000 THB as security deposit which I was aware of.||On entering the room was big as I expected it to be and same exactly in the pictures good big king size bed sofa near a window can see sea with couple of drinks lovely view all the room in beach road but still no noise of vehicles from busy beach road Pattaya. Soon I discovered the AC was not kept on don’t know from when having 2 split AC for big but it took some time to get temp down. Bathroom amenities limited but OK towels are clean shower gel and shampoo provided in wall mounted fittings dental kit given good thing. As mentioned no regular touch up work been carried in the rooms as well made bit old specially with wash room big LCD screen. Nice rain showers easy to adjust the hot water.||I booked this hotel looking at the location specific room for view and its size and I got exactly I booked so happy.||||They have outside restaurant Redstep which is really amazing they provide morning...
