I definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone at all. Location wise is very inconvenient. Even though it is close to BTS station, but there is simply no store or shopping at all within walking distance. Eating wise there is also no coffee shops ( ex. Starbucks ) or fast food ( ex. Mcdonald’s ) nearby as well.
Hotel itself has no nice and comfortable sitting area in the lobby where guests can sit and relax especially after a long day in the evening. What they have is a very compact lobby guest check in area and a small restaurant next to the tiny lobby. They have a sitting area at the second floor but the hotel doesn’t allow guests to use it after 7pm. Food wise they don’t even have full breakfast buffet for guests to enjoy which is a very big disappointment. What they have is only ala carte menu for the whole day.
I actually stay at another hotel in Bangkok for two weeks before I moved to this hotel and stay for nine nights. The other hotel offers full breakfast buffet with both Thai and international cuisine at 200 baht which is less than what this hotel is charging (300 baht) for a mainly ala-carte style breakfast package.
Service wise most front desk reception staffs are nice and friendly to deal with. But the manager is not the case. After having to deal with some technical TV issues for three nights continuously, I was being told by the reception staff that the manager will call me at 12pm the next day. I never received any phone call from any manager for the past two days even after being promised twice for the call. So this is a really big disappointment and frustration for any hotel guest as this really indicates how this hotel operates and the way they perceive guest satisfaction.
There are simply tons of much better hotels in much better locations in Bangkok for similar or even better costs. This hotel is a far from ideal choice in considering of the location, the type of service from the hotel management staff, and the structure of the...
Read moreI rarely write reviews for the hotels i stayed at, but i cant compliment ASAI sathorn enough! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Check in took awhile as we need to input guest information. But other than that, check in was rather smooth. No deposit needed compared to other hotels in BKK. It was a 9 month old hotel, so everything was relatively new and up kept! Room was exactly like the picture. It was more than enough space for 2 person As we only have 1 luggage. Love the TV that we were able to cast netflix. Just the the chrome cast code keep failing as days go by. So we manage to solve it ourselves by unplug / plug the TV and it works! Grohe taps were use, shower pressure was perfect! Two things that i would like ASAI to improve, As i will be heading to BKK every year, and i finally found a hotel that i will keep coming back for. 1) Shower curtain, should be a weighted shower curtain than a very flimsy lighted ones, as the shower curtain keep "floating" towards me when i shower, and it sticks on me when i have soap on, which makes me felt very icky. 2)BLACK OUT CURTAIN please! the bed was comfortable, we have a good sleep, but it would be PERFECT if black out curtain was installed! Hope to see it next year hopefully. Free coffee and tea per guest per day and it was great! It wasn't the cheap machine coffee, it is barista coffee which my husband enjoyed. I love the quietness of the main road compared to pratunam which is very cluttered. 7/11 is just 3 mins walk from the hotel, and St Louis BTS is 2 mins walk. which is just 4 stops away to SIAM. I love to take BTS / MRT in BKK to cut down on traffic jam. Even the train station is relatively empty! Side note, for people who wants to try street food, this hotel is not for you, as there are no street food cart at night. Just early hours in the morning they do have some street cart. Overall, we enjoyed the stay! And i cant stop complimenting ASAI Sathorn! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR TEAM...
Read more3Weeks: A Mixed Bag General Comments: -An acceptable size for the price point -Furnishing is well kept IKEA modern style -Water pressure on the shower is good and the water was hot enough. I wished it could be hotter but at least it wasn’t warm and never got cold. -No amenities unless you get it downstairs. It is better to just go to the 7-11 down the street.
Smell: 1/10 -There is a very bad smell that wafts into the room at times. It seems like it is from the ventilation system which is impossible to live without the air conditioning at 36degrees Celsius temperatures. -Sometimes this smell is also in the hallway and common areas -They use electric diffusers to cover up the smell but it isn’t always effective. You will see it near the elevators and in the hallway. -I bought a diffuser to place in the room
Noise: 1/10 -If your neighbor is talking at night or talking in the hall, you will hear it -During the weekend the music from the street can be heard from my room. 5th floor facing the front street. -You can hear all of the doors closing in a 10meter radius -Bring ear plugs.
SERVICE
Housekeeping: 10/10 -They are nice people and very professional -They do their duties like it is a 5star hotel
Ground Floor: 7/10 -They also seem nice but they don’t seem to go above and beyond in any way. Just remember that it is a budget hotel and it is fine. -You can bring your cup downstairs for some ice from the bar but they won’t let you borrow a bowl.
LOCATION
BTS: 9/10 -Three minute walk to Saint Louis BTS stop. You can reach Siam BTS station where a lot of the fancy shopping is from here without making any transfers.
Food: 8/10 -There is a pretty good food scene around here that is either walkable or by taking the BTS...
