This hostel is around 33kms away from the Airport, so it takes about an hour or so to reach here. You can catch a bus (costs THB 100 per person) which will drop you around 1.5kms from here, so you can either walk and or catch a taxi. There aren't many tuktuks around. Or you can book a taxi directly from the airport which will cost you around THB 600-700.
The hostel is clean, but the rooms are very small. I had booked a family room, but for some reason it showed that I had booked two rooms with fan, so the owner showed me the two rooms and they were very VERY small. There was only one window which opened in the hotel's gallery itself and was too claustrophobic, so we had to pay extra to shift into an AC Family room. The AC room that we stayed in had one double bed and one bunk bed, with an attached washroom. WiFi password is provided in every room.
There's no phone in the room. The owners are not available all the time. There are times when you might not find anyone at the reception, so you're pretty much on your own then. Only soap and shampoo sachets were provided along with water. Initially, there was no kettle in the room, but when we requested for one, the owner was kind enough to give us the same. The hosts are friendly that way.
There is no dryer provided. The floor creaks, so much so that you'll end up waking up others in your room and people downstairs know that someone is walking upstairs. Breakfast is served from 7:30. If you're booking one of those tours that leave early for the cruise and all, you'll have to request them to pack something for you, otherwise they refuse to give you breakfast. The owner initially refused to give us the breakfast, but after much cajoling (and asking for a refund) they agreed to prpvide us fruits, bread, jam and juice. If you're a vegetarian, then you might want to specify "NO EGGS", because I was given salad with eggs on the second day.
All in all this was an ok-ish stay. You wouldn't wanna come here with family, unless you're on a strict budget. If you're coming here with friends and all, then this should be...
Read moreThe location is great and the rooms are nice and clean. AC is perfect and the bathroom is what you expect for the price.||However the service is horrible!!! |We wanted to book a ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi leaving at 11 am that morning. First the girl at the reception wanted to book us the ferry at 1:30 pm. After we decided to book the tickets at the pier and we were just stepping into a cab she told us that she can book us the ferry for 11 am with free transport.|We believed her and waited for her cab. When we arrived at the pier we were declined by the ferry company operating at 11 am. They said or hotel didn't make a reservation and told us that our receipt was only valid for the Farry operated by another company leaving at 1:30 pm. We tried to contact our hostel but they didn't answer the phine.|In total we just lost 2 hours but it was still quite a hustle and it was the first time(!) in South East Asia that we were scammed by the hostel reception. Usually you can absolutely rely on you hotel in regards of booking. ||Is a good place to stay but don't...
Read moreIt has been a while since we came to Phuket, and I understand prices have gone up, however, paying 600 baht for a fan room is way too much. The rooms with air we heard go for $1,400. That seems like greed is taking charge at this point. A couple of positive things I can point out is that the front door was secure at night, and that breakfast is included. One big annoyance was that the lady got pushy cleaning our room and even forgot our garbage twice. We locked our door while we went to eat breakfast, and the lady just unlocked our door without our permission, and cleaned the room. We feel this is an invasion of our privacy. ||I realize Old Town is more touristy than other areas of the city, but we used to pay only 300 baht for fan rooms, which is standard. We checked out other guesthouses for next time, and they come with air conditioning, breakfast, and for a much cheaper price.||Thank you...
