We arrived around 11:00 p.m. and was given room 814. The ac wasn't working and the room smelled so bad. Front desk didn't even help us out when we complained and ask for a room transfer not even fan when she checked the condition of the room / ac. The ac technician only arrived 10am the next day after several complaints from us. He assured that that the ac will now be working after fixing it. Housekeeping staff was only able to help us out after seeing the condition of the room. We got transferred to room 804 which is comparably smaller than 814 but at least the ac was working. We got transferred around past 11:00 a.m. I have asked for a late check out of 5:00 p.m. to compensate us for the HORRIBLE WORST first night in Thailand because we weren't able to sleep at all. We were only given until 3:00 p.m. Even after explaining that the request of 5:00 p.m. seems fair since the room is already paid a month in advance and it was not our fault that we need to change rooms or the request and it is because of the facilities they offer. Hotel manager didn't even approached us the following Monday to check on us and still didn't allow the late check out request and only allowed until 3:00 p.m. As explained the booking was made ONLY THROUGH AGODA. They offer tuktuk rides to three spots which was good. Beakfast buffet was also okay. Location is also good. Hotel staff are also courteous except for the hotel manager which i didn't even see throughout my whole stay. Upon checking in please make sure to report anything that you think is wrong with your room as they charge every single thing that they could find upon checking out. This could have been a pleasant stay if not for the worst horrible...
Read moreAll the negative reviews are accurate but they have its positives. First off, all the front staff was nice and helpful. We didnt have hot water on our first night. We didnt say anything but 2nd day we asked about it and they said they will have someone take a look. We came back at night and still no hot water until we had the front desk go into our room to check. By 3rd night, the wifi kept disconnecting or super slow. The shower has no water pressure. It gets super wet after each shower cuz the water just goes under the glass door to the toilet area. There is a smell in the washroom but I noticed parts of bangkok has a sewer smell in general, so there is probably not much they can do about that. There is a shortcut to Phaya thai stn. Its a small alleyway (look at googlemaps). From the hotel, walk towards the airport link hotel and follow the path, passed the gate, and walk along the alley way. Some have mentioned it was sketchy but me and my partner walked there at night during our stay and it was fine. Its literally locals' backyards. It's not the cleanest and roads are bumpy. But we never felt unsafe. We see workers pushing carts, locals who live there sitting outside on their backyard, and other tourists walking along it. It is dark but enough to see. Convenient location to go to and from both airports once you know the shortcut. The path Googlemaps tells you to go is so much further and we were drenched in sweat by the time we got there. Use the hotel buggie every chance you get as it is not far walk from the malls if you want to save money on...
Read morePlus sides: The design of the hotel is very nice, everything was extremely clean (towels changed daily, very tidy and neat everywhere), staff are very helpful, nice and answer all your questions. They let me check in several hours early, even though I just wanted to drop my bag and use the WiFi for some time :) The rooms are spacious and bright, shower very convenient and clean. There is a kettle in the room, as well as a hair dryer, so very convenient. There are also several plugs, so you can charge all your devices simultaneously. Getting to the hotel can be a bit sketchy, but it is very close to the Siam area with tons of shops, markets and street food, and night life. Overall, it was a great stay!
Down sides: WiFi goes on an off a lot of time, so need to sign in again. Breakfast is meant to start at 6.30, however at 6.50 there was still no hot breakfast served at all (and we had to leave to a day trip), so this was a small downside. Additionally, I found breakfast to be a little bit limited and would definitely ask the administration to add at least a few varieties of tea :) Finally, may I suggest to add little notes to the rooms about changing towels: although it is incredibly nice of them to change them daily, there is no actual need for it and it would save the environment if only those towels that need changing were changed (i.e. those left on the floor as a signal, as is done in many hotels...
