Firstly, I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past; it is in an excellent location (once you find it), the staff were always immensely friendly, polite and helpful, the rooms clean and spacious, the breakfasts good, and the prices very economical. I kept coming back for a reason. ||||However, on my latest trip I arrived, hot and tired, to be told that my booking had been moved to their other hotel in Sultanahmet, because a guest had decided they wanted to stay on longer. This didn't suit me - I had an appointment with a friend nearby, and perhaps my main reason for choosing this hotel was because of its location. I reluctantly agreed, since there didn't seem to be any alternative, other than dragging my suitcase outside and looking for an alternative hotel. At first I was offered a free cab to the other hotel, then this offer was withdrawn (!) and it was suggested I could walk to the metro. Eventually we agreed that my suitcase would be delivered to the Sultanahmet hotel in a few hours' time, while I would make my own way there. This suited me fine. ||||On arriving at the Sultanahmet hotel, I was told that I would in fact be staying in a new 'suite', which was a minute or so's walk away from the hotel in a separate building. The outside of this building was not promising! Broken glass in the entrance door window, and generally very shabby. Inside, however, I did indeed have a whole apartment to myself - bathroom, bedroom and kitchenette, clean, newly decorated, and very pleasant, if still not quite finished (no tap in the bathroom sink, for example, although this wasn't an issue as there was one in the kitchen area). This was far more than I could expect for the price I was paying, so they had obviously done their best to make up for moving me. ||||I clearly caught the hotel at a bad time, and on my past experiences I would still recommend staying here. However, I'd suggest double checking that you will indeed be staying in the location you want to stay in, if this matters to you. The staff are very pleasant, and I'll still be going back if I have to stay in Istanbul again, but a little more...

Read moreStaying at Blue Istanbul Hotel was, without a doubt, the best part of my trip to Istanbul. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location is unbeatable—everything worth seeing is within walking distance. But what truly sets this hotel apart is its people.
Unfortunately, I booked a tour through Buta Tours while staying at the hotel, and it turned out to be a total disaster: false promises, delays, unprofessional behavior, and complete disregard for the customer. It felt like we had been scammed.
But when everything started to go wrong, the manager of Blue Istanbul Hotel stepped in and helped us like no one else would. Even though the hotel wasn’t responsible for Buta Tours, he went out of his way to support us, intervened with the agency, and treated us with kindness, honesty, and genuine care.
That kind of service is rare. It’s not just professionalism—it’s humanity. Thanks to the team at Blue Istanbul, our trip didn’t end in total frustration. If I ever return to Istanbul, this is exactly where I’ll stay.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended. (Except for the tour agency—avoid them like...
