Gülhane Corner Hotel — Hotel in Fatih

I had a friend who stayed here twice and based on her recommendation, I decided to make this a place of choice for my short trip to Istanbul.|Let me start with the plus points first, for a solo female Muslim traveller I agree this is a safe establishment. It is very near to most of the tourist sites, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Ayasofya, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar etc. It is also predominantly easy to find restaurants here.|However, the hotel staff has questionable work ethics. On the day, I was supposed to leave for the airport to catch a morning flight, the lady on duty failed to communicate to the ones who took over that I ordered a taxi, this has resulted in the taxi leaving without me. When I got down to the reception and found out the taxi had left after five minutes, he went on explaining why it left with his limited English, rather than taking action and calling me another one.|Additionally, after calling another taxi he went and up the price of the taxi fare from 70 TL to 80 TL, and pocketing the extra 10TL. I do hold integrity and accountability highly and the hotel staff has none. |Plus, the room is too small. My measure of small is when I have to perform my prayers on the bed.|I will not be staying here and again, and will not be recommending anyone to this...

Dodgy and run by unpleasant arrogant characters that are out to make money.||Rooms are not the same as pictures. Hygiene is despicable poor urine stains , blood and hunan feces on bed sheets.||Paid for two nights, stayed only for one due to poor hygiene and the owners refused to refund. After much complaining they offered to change a room but hygiene is so poor that it is a health risk to stay at this hotel.|| The desk attendant SALAHUDDIN says they cannot refund as per Bosses orders, and what is sinister strange they have full permission to accept all types of payments in advance including card and foreign currency.||When showing the poor hygiene, they blamed on the cleaning lady. The cleaning lady stated she had no time to clean properly because of the fast turnaround time in advertising room as available. SALAHUDDIN then said they fired the cleaning lady.||So hotel run by Bosses whose practices are unethical and treat staff poorly, and bad management that refuses to take responsibility and accountability putting blame on hard working staff.||Forget about any refunds at this hotel. And more importantly consider hygiene before booking...

It was a horrible experience .. I have booked a free cancelation for 3 family rooms for me and my friend since 3 months in order to have a good deal and price in 21 march the date of our trip to istanbul for 1100 euro ,but the surprise was since week i got a message From the hotel that the credit card is invalid We check with the bank the card has no problem then i update my card again but oalso o got the same message so i contact the hotel via whatsapp and the answer was that i reserve 3 rooms and they have only one room available becouse of an error in system ..i was schocked becouse our trip is about 2o days to go and they told me that they will cancel my reservation ..we were so sad becouse at this time the prices began to be very high and no availablty of rooms in the economic hotel in sitkeci so for that we canceled our trip becouse prices become ensane and the gulhane hotel make this huge mistake that cost ua to delay our trip ... So please take care before make any reservation...
