I write this as I spend my second night at this hotel, I am highly disappointed being an Honors member and staying previously twice at the Hampton in Aksaray, when I saw this one opened up I decided to book it as it is closer to Eminonu, before that I used to stay at Double Tree Old City, I was also one of the first guests at Hampton Aksaray and they were memorable stays, I didn’t realise how steep are the hills here so I decided to walk with my luggage from Eminonu, when I get to the hotel the receptionist insisted on swiping my physical card, my card is always charged from the system on checkout, I asked for Apple Pay and she said she needs my physical card, I handed it over, instead of tapping or inserting, she insisted on swiping, it kept declining, refusing me to check in, the poor guy at the Starbucks coffee bar saw how tired I was and offered me a water, until another assistant came, she then tapped it and it went through, I asked for a price on a late check out and she said it’s not possible, I usually book one more night even though I check out late afternoon and I’ve been previously told not to book and extra night but rather pay for half day,
Other than that, room is very tiny and cramped, breakfast is much less of a spread, all in comparison with other hamptons.
This evening when I asked to weigh my luggage, I’ve been told, they have not received a scale yet, the hotel stinks of sewerage from the moment you walk in right into the room, it doesn’t make sense, too new to have a scale, but old enough to have these maintenance issues, I even had to tighten the shower door handle myself as it was completely loose.
I haven’t felt at home like I have felt at other Hamptons, especially the one in Aksaray, the staff are always engaging, welcoming and going the extra...
Read more5/5⭐️ (and more) all the way! This hotel is new and conveniently located near all attractions on the European side of Istanbul with the best management team I have ever worked with!
My mom and I took a small trip to Istanbul and this was not only our first time in Istanbul, but also our first time staying at a Hilton Hotel. The location of this hotel is on a slightly steep hill (just like the majority of Istanbul) and it is a bit difficult to walk your luggaes up to, especially on a scorching hot summer day. Due to traffic reasons, the city blocks off certain roads at certain times throughout the day and unfortunately the road to the hotel is also blocked at times, so public taxi’s can not always drop you off right infront of the hotel. As we were walking up the hill with our heavy luggages, Yilmaz spotted us and immediately took both of our luggages as he knew where we were headed. After heading inside he immediately had us sit down, rest up and greeted us with water and Turkish Tea. Check-in was smooth and Yilmaz helped us with our luggages to our room, which was squeaky clean! We went off exploring the city for the remainder of the day and the next day was our flight. The team was understanding of our short trip and happily gave us a late checkout, free of charge, so we can explore a few more sites before our departure. On the day of our departure, Yilmaz also arranged a taxi to take us to the airport. He and another coworker took our luggages to the taxi and we said our goodbyes!
Although a short trip, this is a trip we will always remember as we received such amazing hospitality and care from the team. We love you, and the next time we are in Istanbul, we will be staying here again without any hesitation! Thank you all for such a...
Read moreStayed here for three nights while traveling back from a business trip and taking an extended layover. I arrived on the Saturday after the big Microsoft update fiasco wondering if hotels would be working ok. The room keys were not so for a portion of the first day I needed to be escorted to my room. I booked a King nonsmoking room and was given a room with two twin beds. I would’ve have minded if they had asked at the desk if I was ok switching but they didn’t ask, I was given a room with two twins in it. I didn’t bother to complain but would have preferred the king by far.
Pros: Close to a lot of big sites. Everything for me was easily walkable from there. Metro, rail, so forth. Breakfast had many international options and met the mark. Staff was helpful and kind, always offering to help before I could ask. Price is good!
Cons: There are smoking floors in the hotel and with an open area between the floors that means smoke for all in the more public spaces. (I was on a nonsmoking floor and got hit with the stink from time to time) Room 1306 is at street level. I had to keep my drapes closed 100% of the time (I love natural light). Also, there’s a rather convenient bench right outside the window, see the photo, that people (other customers, so forth) sit on and smoke and chat. So a bit more cigarette smoke and noise during the day. The room also shares a wall with a hotel operational access point. So if you want to sleep during the day the rolling of carts and what not can be disturbing. It wasn’t a problem for me, but for people’s consideration.
Overall I’m glad I stayed here and would consider it again...
