We fell in love with Black Tulip hotel because of its staff. I cancelled our hotel in another area and stayed at Black Tulip Hotel for the 2nd time after coming from Cappadocia (We stayed in Black Tulip for 8 days prior to going to Cappadocia btw). The hotel staff (huge shoutout to Efe, Ilham, Harun, Mohamed and Mahmut) and crew is impeccable. We decided to also come back to Istanbul one day before our original plans and Ilham assured me and my husband that they will help us out. Once we've finalized our plans, I messaged them in whatsapp and Efe made the reservations and airport transfers for us right away. Everyone was very helpful. Ilham is well-versed in the area like where to have your glasses repaired, etc. They always aim for their guests convenience, stress-free! The hotel is standard European size with fridge and coffee/ tea station, clean, safe and perfectly located within walking distance to most of the famous sites, spas and restaurants we planned to go. The elevator is small yet clean, its size is not an issue for us since we are accustomed to something like it when traveling in any European country (my mom lives in Milan and her entire building have the same elevator size), you wait for your turn just like anywhere else. They offer you tea / coffee in the lobby. The breakfast is decent and the hallways smells good. If you want an American sized room or elevator, better stay at 4 Seasons in Bosphorus but if you want a memorable trip to Istanbul with caring staff who authentically welcomes you, definitely stay at Black...

Read moreThis hotel exceeded our expectations, and we were very satisfied with all aspects of our stay. We had a room facing the street but weren’t bothered by noise, as it tended to quiet down towards midnight. The room itself had all the amenities you would expect in this price range; a safe, water bottles, tea, a little balcony, a TV and a comfortable bed. Extra pillows were provided upon request.
The breakfast had a decent selection of items, and I personally didn’t feel that it lacked anything.
The staff were all very friendly and professional. We didn’t encounter any problems of any sort. The hotel arranged a transport for us from SAW and back. While it certainly is possible to travel to and from the airport by public transport, the shuttle partner operates spacious vans with comfortable seats, so it was worth the extra cost.
The direct train/light rail to Istanbul’s Asian side is just a few minutes away by foot, as are the piers for the ferries heading to Kadiköy and Üsküdar. The tram that goes past the hotel goes to Beyoglu, and from there you can go by funicular to Taksim, if this is of interest.
All in all we found this to be a great hotel, not only because of its location but also because of the helpful and...
