Livro Hotel — Hotel in Fatih

Location is pretty decent, albeit it's a long hike up & down roads and traffic prevents drivers from doing hotel pickups/drop offs. Several tram stations within a 5-8min walk though. Staff were always friendly and very responsive to requests.

Now the room: it was small and LEAKED terribly. It grew more leaks the 2nd day we were there and we had towels and trashcan strategically placed about the floor & desk. We could barely use the closet space because the bed had to be shoved over so far to avoid getting dripped on (we moved it out just to give enoughspace to walk). My husband had no bed side table (no room on that side) so he used the floor. We had zero walking space that wasn't wet with splatters other than around the bottom & one side of the bed. The desk was completely unusable for sitting at & half of it was getting dripped on. They booked other guests at other hotels and I never did understand why we weren't moved. We just dealt with it. But the staff & manager were made aware everyday and the night staff did their best to provide extra towels & buckets to catch drips. The buildings are very old and we were told (not just by hotel staff actually) that it's very difficult to get permission to renovate those buildings. I'm sure it would have been a lovely stay aside...

We arrived at 6:30 am after 2 flights and nearly 30 hours travelling. We were met by a lovely young man who checked us in and told us that he did have a room he just wasn’t sure if it was our room or not. He showed us in and said we could move to our assigned room later. He said we should go to breakfast as well, even although it would not usually be available in arrival day. We were very grateful. Less than 5 minutes later he came back saying he had a better room if we wanted to move. The room was huge (and probably an upgrade on what we had booked) we were delighted. The hotel is lovely, modern, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and great showers. The staff cannot do more to help and are always smiling. You can’t get a better location, 10 minutes walk to the Blue mosque, river and just around the corner from multiple restaurants. Not that you will need any lunch after the amazing breakfasts! Make sure you include breakfast when booking because you will not be disappointed. I cannot recommend this place any more highly, the hotel, staff and location are perfect. If you’re coming to Istanbul make sure you stay here, we will if we are ever...

Honestly better than expectations. I will reccomend this place without hesitation. If you are in two minds, just take my word and stay here. There is a reason it has perfect 5 star google rating at the time of writing.

Greeted on check in by the very friendly ahmed who gave us an upgrade to an amazing room and breakfast included, and some very invaluable tourist information.

The room was just WOW. Very modern and brand new with great quality. We were given complimentary biscuits and Turkish tea on check in, made to feel very welcome. The room is equivalent to five star hotel room in other countries we’ve stayed in.

The lady who was at breakfast this morning seemed so friendly and homely, what a lovely aura to have around.

The other staff at the check in desk throughout the day and night always have a smile and greet you in a kind manner.

The location is perfect. 10 min walk to the Egyptian bazaar, topkapi papace, Hagia Sofia, blue mosque, basilica cistern - all the must see place in Istanbul.

I would stay here again without hesitation if I return to...
