It was our very first time in Istanbul so we didn't really know what to expect. The hotel doesn't have any sign or directions so make sure you have the address handy for your driver. It's very close to the Haliç metro station, in front of a small mosque and right next to a simit bakery. Check in was super fast, they had our reservation printed and key ready, even though they still hasn't received the payment. It was late so they just told us we could pay the next day. We booked a room on the basement so we had no natural light, so we would set an alarm to avoid sleeping in as the bed was pretty comfortable. The room could sleep 3, we were 2 and it worked just fine. I don't know how old is the hotel but I don't think it's been open for more than 3 years as everything is pretty new, the decor is nice, it's all clean and well maintained. Just a little wear and tear here and there but nothing that could bother anyone. The bathroom design could bother some, as the shower is above the WC, it didn't really bother us I mean, it's a 5 minute shower you take a day so we didn't mind it. The included breakfast is alright, there's milk, coffee, tea and juice everyday, pasta, boiled eggs, some sort of cheese fritters, cold cuts, bread, yogurt, etc. you can have it right there at the basement where the kitchen is at or take it upstairs to the tables they have at the terrace which has a nice view. The location is unbeatable. You can walk to almost everything, we only had to take the metro once, other than that we walked everywhere:|Haliç metro station: 1 minute walk - this will take you to Taksim and Istiklal street, where everything happens at night, stores, restaurants, bars and clubs. It's just 1 or 2 stations away, depending on what part of Istiklal you want to walk from. You could actually walk all the way over there but it will take you about 40 minutes to the beginning of Istiklal street. |Eminonü: 6 minute walk - a lot of buses come here and depart from here, but most important here is the ferry dock that will take you to Uskudar, on the Asian side (don't miss this!) and Adalar (Princes Islands) not to be missed either. You can also take Bosphorus cruises here. These are all pretty cheap. |Suleimaniye mosque: 10 minute walk. A little harder to get to cause its uphill but definitely worth the visit. |New Mosque: 12 minute walk. |Egyptian bazaar: 12 minute walk. |Grand bazaar: 20 minute walk. |Sultanahmet and Sofia mosques: 30 minute walk. |Ankara street: 25 minute walk|There are places to eat very close to the hotel everywhere you look. If you walk down the street and make a right you will find a lot once you've walked like 5 minutes. If you walk up the street and then go left you will find even more. That street might look a bit dodgy but it's not at all. It's very active with many many local people buying stuff, food, having their haircut, you can eat a kebap or durum for as low as 2 TL and a fresh orange or pomegranate juice for 1 TL. You can't beat that! We loved Istanbul and will absolutely come back, and would totally book this...

Read moreBe aware, Now it name is Otel Class Istanbul.||We were a group of 9 people have been stayed at Golden Ottoman Otel (in 3 rooms) since 21 JUN 2017 till 30 JUN 2017. In spite of payment and staying, the property cancelled my booking, so I can not write any review in booking.com.||Golden Ottoman Otel is not a hotel. This is a place just for sleeping as a hostel and having repetitious very simple breakfast. As a matter of fact, unlike what advertised, the air conditioner and barbecue were not working well, there was no private beach area, no currency exchange on site, no safety box, no newspaper, no iron and ironing facilities, no mosquito net, not soundproofed room, no vending machine and no smoking area. There was no hotel sign and nobody around knows the name, just a little sign with the name “Golden Cafe”. We could not recognize who is in charge of the place. I booked a standard double room for my wife and I, but the bed contains two single beds. They pasted two single mattresses to each other. The room was not level and the floor needs to be balance. Parquet always made noise badly. The place was not quiet at all. Bath was very small and shower was installed with a wire!!! Room service was weak. Flies, mosquitoes and insects were every where. All the things looked old and needs to be repaired. The property being surrounded by gamblers and heavy smokers day and night, then not suitable for families and couples.||||Location was great and near all kind of public transportation. you can reach many historical places and bazaars by walking easily. You can see a very beautiful view on...
