During our stay, while leaving our room, my boyfriend accidentally brushed against a wooden piece of forniture that was hanging on the wall right next to the door of our room (room 104). This piece of furniture consequently fell right on my right foot, causing me a subungueal hematoma. The ease with which this object fell from the wall and caused me this injury leads me to affirm that it is a dangerous object: it was in fact hung on the wall with a simple screw inserted into a soft wall, probably made of tuff, without the support of any dowel.||Moreover, as a consequence of the injury I obviously was not able to enjoy the last days of my holiday, because I could not walk properly, nor wear closed shoes (which is problematic in Kapadokya, where all activities are based on trekking). Therefore, I reached the manager of the hotel to explain him the danger of keeping such an object hanging of the wall without the proper precautions, and asked him a compensation for the physical damages it had caused me. Regardless of my situation, he replied me that he had no responsibility for what happened, and that every room has had the same piece of forniture for 5 years and they never fell off. The thing is, I think the problem is just that this object has been hanging for several years without dowel on a wall that crumbles easily, and therefore the wall has worn out over time, making the wooden object unstable. As a proof, I went to my friends’ room to check if the same piece of furniture was hanging more stably, and just by lifting it to see if there was a dowel, the screw simply slipped out of the wall.||When pointing this out, the manager claimed that he had never seen such things as dowels, and that in Turkey they don’t use them. However, there were a couples of dowels right in the wall of the reception, thus showing that he was lying for no reason. ||The manager firmly repeated that he didn’t owe me any refund, and that the only thing he could do was to call a doctor to visit me. Read moreSpent two nights at Goreme Valley Cave House and found it to be a very good experience. It is located in a good central location, you can walk easily to the open-air museum, restaurants, cafes, sunset point.... The hotel arranged airport shuttle bus pick-up, which I strongly recommend (it is much more expensive to get a taxi), I did all my hotel communications through Whatsapp, and the staff responded in good time always. The room was very nice: clean, warm, with lots and lots of towels, nice bed linens and a comfortable bed. The hotel has security cameras, so you feel secure. Breakfast was included, it was a buffet style. The breakfast room is nice and comfortable and clean, the staff are very helpful (and if you are there in colder months this room has a wood burning stove, so very cozy). The owners and reception staff speak English, and helped me make restaurant reservations and went over all the sightseeing info I needed and gave good advice about getting around Goreme and nearby locations. If you stay here I recommend you go around the corner to Celsius Coffee Roastery, it's close by and very chill (they also offer bike treks), and I highly recommend Dibek restaurant for the beef or chicken pottery kebab (order first thing in the morning, the reception can help you) - the food is wonderful, I ate there both nights, and the staff speak English and are lovely. Another important point about visiting this area, you can take the tours, but you can also easily get on buses and go see the main sights, it is not hard to go by bus here. Hope that helps! I would recommend...
