Would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. Please read the other 1 star reviews on both Google and Booking. com before deciding whether or not you want to stay here, as they all mention the issues I experienced and more. I am beyond disappointed in how this hotel has handled something that they are very much at fault with which I’ll detail below and with pictures. ||||But in a nutshell:||||- customer service is APPALLING, it’s quite literally non-existent here||- Everything is false advertised, including the hotel as it is NOT a cave hotel. Their false advertising of the room forced me to find another hotel which they did not help with and they would not refund me for (even partially) although they were the ones at fault.||- The bathroom is absolutely tiny and not like the pictures at all, and it wasn’t very clean either. This was the worst part of my stay. The shower was also tiny and the water literally so rough that it was painful to shower. ||- They don’t care about their guests at all, they just care about the money. They tell you nothing about the hotel (like how to get to the pictured terrace for the view), they simply ask you what tours you want to do. If they had some humanity and didn’t only care for the money, then they would’ve also at least partially refunded me for what happened too (more detail below).||- They take no accountability for their actions, and they have refused to work with Booking in order to resolve the issue. ||- Bedroom was cold, walls paper thin that it felt like people next door were in the room with you, bed was rock hard and squeaky/super uncomfortable, and the room could’ve been cleaner.||- AVOID AVOID AVOID ||||First off, don’t expect a warm welcome when you check in to the hotel. It was run entirely by men who don’t exactly give you service with a smile, and a lot of the 1 star reviews mention this. When I moved to my new accommodation (due to my awful experience at Milat), the person who came in to help me with my luggage also acknowledged that the environment among the men working at reception was so awkward and hostile. ||||I have restricted mobility and chronic back pain, and it was the false advertising of the en-suite bathroom that made my condition so much worse. I spoke with somebody at reception about it to see if they had any other rooms available with bigger bathrooms, and apparently they didn’t. I also asked if I could be refunded and they said that because I booked a non-refundable booking, I can’t be refunded. This is understandable, but in these situations where the hotel is at fault, there are exceptions which should be made. The bottom line is, if I saw in the pictures on Booking that the bathroom would be so small, I simply would NOT have booked the room there and would’ve saved myself the hassle. ||||I had just finished a 10 hour bus journey (which is difficult enough with my disability), arrived when it was dark, had excruciating back pain as a result of the extremely small bathroom and shower, yet I was the one who was made to spend hours researching and phoning up new accommodations to stay in at such short notice on my first night in a new place I’m not familiar with and where I don’t speak the local language. All the receptionist did was give me the name of their sister hotel, but good hospitality would’ve meant he should’ve been the one to have called it. This whole ordeal caused me a great deal of stress on my first night after a very long and tiring and painful journey, and I was left to do it all on my own. ||||When I was trying to sort this out, the receptionist made me feel like I was asking too much or as if I should feel bad for asking to move hotels. Living with a disability, it is very common that people make you feel like a burden for asking specific questions or making specific requests that accommodate your needs, and this is unfortunately what the hotel made me feel like. Judging by what the other reviews on Google have said, this nonchalant approach to guest concerns is unfortunately commonplace at Milat, and this is unacceptable, especially for the price and stars.||||The worst part is when I tried to resolve this with Booking. com, the person at Booking customer service told me that the hotel would not need to refund me, they would simply need to put in a suggested amount (recommended that they give me the amount for the last 2 nights of my stay as I was staying somewhere else), but the hotel couldn’t even do that (which is the absolute bare minimum they could do considering what happened). I also of course had to pay for a further 2 nights at a different accommodation because of my experience at Milat, and they have outright refused to refund me for the two nights I didn’t stay there. I spent £135 for my stay there, but I only spent one night in the hotel. So not being refunded and having to spend 2 nights at a different accommodation that met my needs meant I spent an insane amount of money doing what Milat should’ve been doing in the first place, but they could not have cared less. Absolutely shocking customer service. ||||They also marked me down on Booking. com as a no-show, which is of course a lie as I spent one night there. ||||I am incredibly disappointed by this hotel, for their inability to take accountability for their mistakes, for how they handled the situation in person, and for not even allowing Booking. com to refund me themselves. All the hotel had to do was give their approval of a refund; they didn’t have to refund me themselves. And they STILL refused. This perfectly sums up how they see their guests. ||||And to note, I didn’t even stay in the budget double room. I stayed in the standard double room. They have also not rectified the issue of the falsely advertised bathrooms on the Booking app, so be prepared for a ridiculously small one if you book a standard double room. I will be uploading pictures that prove this. The fact they have not fixed this in the month since I stayed there shows how they simply do not value their guests and how little they are willing to take any accountability. ||||I’ve stayed in many hotels throughout my life - a mix of hostels, budget, and even 5 star hotels. For a 3 star hotel like this, I am absolutely disgusted by their behaviour and so disappointed in my experience - I’ve had far warmer and accommodating stays in hostels and even 1-2 star hotels!||||AVOID THIS HOTEL - I wouldn’t want anybody else to pay money for such a disappointing experience in what should be a very magical once-in-a-lifetime trip. Milat cave hotel totally ruined mine. ||||Photos:||Shows the space of the bathroom and how small it is, and something that was dumped in the bathroom cupboard and not cleaned. The bathroom door was also hard to open which I obviously couldn’t photograph, but I have videos I can send...
Read moreThis is probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed at, and for context, I usually stay in cheap hostels||First of all, do NOT book anything through them, you’ll always find cheaper online every time if you take 5 minutes of your time. Especially the hot air balloon. We booked through them at 145€, it was a cheap day, but then it got cancelled so the next day prices went up to 300€, 400€ even 600€. Most balloon companies keep your reservation if they have availability and keep the price, but because we booked with the hotel, we didn’t get that chance. They just said our reservation was cancelled and it was now 320€, online I could find for 260€. I was truly upset, I felt desperate and completely broke down, I’d worked so hard and spend so much to be here, it was my dream, and it was slipping away. This affected me so much emotionally that I couldn’t even leave the hotel that day. The balloons did take off the next day but we didn’t fly because we couldn’t afford that. The day after was our last day, we found a balloon company for 110€, but flights got cancelled again so we are leaving Cappadocia without having experienced the balloon ride all because our hotel cancelled our reservation.||We also got the transfer and they didn’t tell us we had to pay the driver cash, so we had to pay the transfer plus all the withdrawal fees (to leave we found cheaper online and paid with card)||Another horrible thing was the breakfast. Apparently they have it on a covered terrace, and I think the covering structure broke, probably just before we arrived. Which is fine, it’s not their fault. To fix this problem, they decided to take breakfast to your room. They didn’t give you any options so I didn’t like the idea that we were going from a huge buffet to choose from to this but still gave it a shot. Well, take your conclusions from the picture below, a prison tray. A handful of options, all of them cold, not even any fruit. I’m not a picky eater but my mom didn’t eat half of what was there so basically went without breakfast everyday.|I went downstairs to talk about this, since breakfast and the rooftop were the only reasons we chose this place. Well to start off they all speak terrible English, I’m not a native English speaker but if you work in a hotel in a town that has like 4 million visitors a year, you really need to speak English. But this would be okay too, if he wasn’t so rude. All of them were a bit rude, like not hospitable at all, I don’t know names but they were all men, the girl was okay. I told them what we got and what we paid for is extremely different. For context, there were plenty of areas in the hotel for them to host breakfast, including a covered terrace. We also heard from our guide that a hotel in a similar situation once sent their guests to the hotel next door for breakfast. But if they really wanted to go with their option, they could’ve at least tried.|The following days had fruit too, but all the food was still cold and pretty bad to be honest. Giving that the breakfast was one of the strongest suits of this place, this was a huge disappointment.||We asked one day if they had a microwave, they said yeah but it’s in the terrace so we can’t use it, as if you can’t just get it and plug it in literally anywhere??? They really just don’t care about you at all, couldn’t care less literally.||We had a late flight so we asked if we could get a late checkout, also no (even though we saw that no one had checked in by the time we left at 8pm).||We asked to leave our bags they said yes which I really appreciated, but then noticed that they just put them by the stairs where anyone could get to it. Sorry but a hotel at this price should have luggage storage, even the worst of hostels have that this is ridiculous. ||The rooftop was the best part about this place, but you should know that it looks nothing like the pictures.||The room was okay but definitely not worth what we paid, the doors are extremely loud, no sound proofing (we’d wake up with people going up and down the stairs to the terrace), the conditioner/shampoo/shower gel containers were all empty and the furniture feels a bit rundown. Which again, most of these things individually would have been fine, it’s the fact that they all happened here, it’s crazy.||They will always have guests no matter what people write in here so I assume that’s why they don’t care about your experience at all.||This trip was a dream of mine, the hot air balloon was on the top of my bucket list, and this hotel single handedly ruined my experience, no money can ever give back what I lost...
