Moira Stone House (Cappadocia otel) — Hotel in Göreme

This is a wonderful family hotel in the heart of Cappadocia where I was looked after in the best tradition of Turkish hospitality. Moira Stone Hotel, with its clean and nicely decorated rooms, is very well located in the centre of Göreme, very close to restaurants and the main shopping street, while also having great views of the sensational landscape of Cappadocia. From the hotel terrace I could see hot air balloons in the sky over the magical fairy chimneys that characterise the region; however, you have to get up early in the morning to see them. Cappadocia is indeed a magical place, but what made this family hotel so special and wonderful is their genuine caring and sincere friendliness of the staff, who were always so accommodating in meeting my particular requirements due to my health problems. Nothing was too much for them. After my first stay at Moira Stone Hotel I stayed in other hotels (which I had pre-booked before my trip) and those other hotels were very nice and aesthetically attractive, but I came back to Moira because of the great hospitality and how well I was looked after there. During the 8 days that I stayed at Moira Stone Hotel I felt like being at home, in my own house. I was generously guided and helped all along regarding places to visit, eat, shops etc. I appreciated how extras were provided free of charge. Special thanks to Sara, Halil, Tuncay and Atilla. Actually, I can’t thank the Moira staff enough. I was struck by real Turkish hospitality, maintaining that great tradition. Even if there are occasional hiccups, bear in mind that this is a relatively new hotel and the management and staff are keen to act on any feedback to improve. Moira has much to offer – great location, lovely rooms, excellent views of the fabulous scenery... But above all, and most important for me, it is the hospitality and genuineness that makes Moira such a fantastic hotel. When I left the Hotel Moira, I left a family behind. I’ll definitely return to Moira and bring my friends and family...

Hotel Moira a wonderful family hotel in the heart of Cappadocia. Offers the best tradition of Anatolian hospitality. Excellent location in centre of Göreme, very close to restaurants and main shopping street, yet also neatly tucked away and very quiet. Clean and well maintained rooms. Great views of sensational landscape of Cappadocia and from the terrace one could see hot air balloons over the magical fairy chimneys.||What makes it extra special is the wonderful owners and staff. They showed genuine caring and sincere friendliness, and were always so attentive and accommodating in meeting my particular requirements due to my health problems – breakfast at a later hour and with special foods. Nothing was too much trouble. Both times that I’ve stayed at Hotel Moira, it felt like being in my own home. I was generously guided and helped regarding places to visit, eat, shops etc. My second stay there was just as amazing as the first. If I were able to give it more than five stars, I would. This is my beautiful away break, not just a hotel but a second home, and I’ll definitely return to Moira and bring my friends and family too. I wish to thank the hotel owners from the bottom of my heart and look forward to seeing...

İki gün konakladık. İşletme sahibi Cengiz Beyin iyi niyetli olduğunu, ancak otel işletmeciliği konusunda çok zayıf olduğunu düşünüyorum. Zira oteldeki bakımsızlık ve keşmekeşlik ilk göze çarpan unsurlar. Yastık, nevresim, havlular hepsinin artık çöpe atılma zamanı gelmiş ama kullanılmaya devam ediliyor. Mobilyalar eskimiş. Odalarda temizlik ve hijyen hissiyatını hiç alamıyorsunuz. Kalitesizlik her noktada karşınıza çıkıyor. Otel sadece odadan ibaret desem yeridir. Bahçe yok, teras varla yok arasında. Kaldığımız odanın balkonu var evet ama manzarası otelin dibindeki mezarlık. Alelade işletilen bir yer. Yol geçen hanı gibi, kapı baca açık, delinin biri girse sıkıntı çıkarsa her şey olabilir, ortada herhangi bir personel yok, güvenlik zaafiyeti üst düzey, bütün işleri Cengiz Bey yürütüyor sanırım o da pek ortalıkta gözükmüyor. Kahvaltı vasat ötesiydi. Kahvaltı saatleri son derece sınırlı olmasına rağmen (9-10) arası, sıcak servis edilmesi gereken şeyler soğumuş ve taş gibi olmuştu yiyemedik. Biz gelmeden önce hazırlandığı ve üstü açık bir şekilde masada bırakıldığı için sebze meyve peynir türü şeyler de kendisini bırakmıştı. İkinci gün o kahvaltıya hiç girmedik bile. Yani üst saydıklarımı önemsemiyorsanız, tek başına iseniz ve biraz merkezi bir yer olsun, sadece yatıp kalkmak için bir yer arıyorsanız belki sizi tatmin edebilir, ama çocuklu bir aile iseniz ve kaldığı yerden de keyif almak isteyen biriyseniz burası sizin için asla...
