Summary
Perched on the edge of a cliff this hotel presents a memorable experience. Just a short walk from the centre of Old Town Antalya this is very conveniently located. Close proximity to the centre, next to a nice park but also a quiet area at the same time.
Hotel
Built on the edge and into the cliff itself the Perge is an experience. We had one of the cave suite rooms which face the front and feel like you are staying in the actual cliff face. We stayed for four nights. The room had a very modern design and an amazing view across Antalya bay with the mountains in the background. It was breathtaking to sit there and absorb the view whatever the time of the day. The room had a generous layout, bathroom was very nice and also had a parallel changing and walk in wardrobe area. Bed was very large and comfortable. The products in the bathroom were also great.
Sunbathing area
There is no pool here but you don't need it! The sunbathing area is integrated at several levels into the cliff side and there are two areas for direct sea access including a floating platform. I'm usually a 'pool' guy however I must say we had a superb sea side experience here. Plenty of comfortable sun loungers and parasols available including places to eat. We also had lunch there which was excellent quality and quick service. Another thing, the sea is so clear and clean here. It's much calmer in the morning however one can still swim into the later afternoon if you wish. What was also useful (!) is that there is a modern outdoor lift for easy access down to the sea level. The area gets sun most of the day into the evening so is good for sun seekers. We prefer the shade and there were plenty of options for us throughout the day.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served at the Lanthe restaurant in the hotel which itself is a destination place to eat. The view is amazing as the restaurant overhangs the cliff edge. We also had lunch and dinner there. The menu has many options across cold and hot starters, mains and sharing dishes. We also ordered juices and soft drinks which are freshly made and delicious. Lots of attention to detail to the dishes which makes it stand out from a lot of other restaurants in the area. Breakfast was also excellent. A la carte style with a decent amount of options.
Service
We booked direct. Experience was easy and staff were very responsive to emails beforehand. Check in was very smooth. Staff at the hotel were very attentive, at the reception, the restaurant and the sunbathing area next to the sea. Special thanks to Ayfer in the restaurant who was amazing and kind, and gave us such great service.
Overall
Superb and memorable experience. Fully recommended and I'd certainly love to...
Read moreThis hotel was fantastic and one of the best beach/Mediterranean experiences we have had. I’m shocked it’s only listed as a 3-star hotel—we had a wonderful experience across all aspects of our stay that certainly rivaled some of the 4-star and 5-star hotels we have stayed at in other European locations. Despite the wonderful amenities, our whole stay (including amenities, drinks, and food) was still extremely affordable. We have decided this is our go-to beach spot, and would recommend it to anyone else living in Europe looking for a reliable beach vacation.
The hotel: the hotel feels very modern, clean, and well-kept. The staff was very friendly to us and helped us figure out some of our excursions and offered tips to ensure we had a great time in Antalya. Our hotel room was very comfortable with a large rain shower and a balcony for lounging. Despite the 95 degree temperatures outside, the air conditioning in the room was great and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The restaurant in the hotel had incredible views of the water and the mountains across the way that led to much longer breakfasts than we originally intended as we got sucked into the view. The location was our ideal—the hotel is located about ten minutes walking from the main downtown area, so we still had plenty of easy access without being in the heart of the busy downtown streets.
While the hotel accommodations were fantastic, the beach setup was where Perge Hotel really excelled and what ultimately convinced us to plan a return trip. There are several levels of decks with very comfortable lounge chairs right on the edge of stunningly blue water, which was exactly what we were looking for. We never had any trouble finding spots to lay out, and there’s plenty of mobile umbrella coverage to ensure you don’t get too hot. The decks basically got full sunlight the whole day, so the mobile umbrellas were a nice touch if you wanted a break from the sun while still enjoying the waterside. Supporting the beach area is a great snack bar with waiters, offering plenty of tasty food and drink options for affordable prices. The snack bar offered a casual but elegant dining experience, which is exactly what we were hoping for during our full beach days.
It appears in the past the hotel used to be linked to an annex hotel in a separate building at the end of the block and this was an unwelcome surprise for some guests. Perge hotel confirmed to us they are now officially separated from the Perge Annex hotel, so if you book with this hotel you can rest assured you’ll be staying in the hotel contained in the photos. All around...
Read moreAs a young couple, we paid £292 via Agoda for two nights at Perge Hotel, expecting a beachfront luxury experience as advertised on Agoda. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different. Most rooms are located in annex building, which is essentially a old repurposed residential building with no lift, rather than the main beachfront property. this is not mentioned anywhere as the hotel posted around 180 pics, but you need to scroll 100 pics only to see the real rooms in the annex building. Our room was small with a view of Antalya—comparable to Birmingham in terms of beauty. This setup was not made clear on Agoda, leading us to believe we were paying for a true seaside experience with direct access to the beach.
Instead, you have to leave the annex, cross a road, and walk about 200 meters to reach the breakfast and beach area. Breakfast itself was good with a large variety of sweet and savoury food, but drinks were not included—you even have to pay for basics like coffee or juice, which are not cheap. Turkish tea was free, but you had to know to ask for it, as no one informed us. The breakfast area was also severely understaffed, with many tables left uncleaned. Kudos to the waiter who was trying his best despite the situation.
On our second night, the electricity went out for around 6 hours, leaving us without AC in 30-degree weather and no light. When we called the reception, we were told they were waiting for the power company to respond, but there was no follow-up or acknowledgment of this issue the next day—just a brief apology blaming construction work, despite other buildings around having power. No compensation or gesture of goodwill was offered.
The rooms also had a few broken items which we had to ask to repair such as the shower and soap.
Upon checking in at 8 am on the first day, we were kindly welcomed by a staff member with excellent English, who asked if we were hungry—only to tell us we could buy breakfast. It felt a bit ridiculous to mention it if you're not going to offer at least a small gesture like a welcome drink or juice.
Overall, Perge Hotel did not live up to its luxury beachfront promise, and we were left disappointed with the lack of clear information and basic hospitality.
You can get better value for your money in other places, considering we paid the same price we would have for a hotel in...
