Next'Bay - Central Host — Hotel in Dubai

I've stayed in a bunch of hostels all over the globe, and this one was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

The main reason is probably because of the number of people living there (not guests). The kitchen was always in bad condition, with heaps of dishes to be washed all the time. The fridge barely had any space to put my food in and was full of uncovered plates of food, which was pretty gross.

The guests—or should I say residents—don't give a toss about noise. They talk on their phones for hours inside the room, keep the lights on at 2 a.m., and are constantly making a heap of noise when they come and go.

On top of all that, my room was right next to the living room, so the noise all night was ridiculous. It was such a lack of respect. This isn't the kind of vibe you expect from a hostel for travellers.

I have a back problem, and when I booked the room, I selected a bottom bunk. To my surprise, the only bed available was a top bunk.

The quality of the mattress and pillows is also super bad. The pillows feel like they've been used for 10+ years.

There is only one bathroom to be used between the people in your room, so if you want to have a shower in the "prime time" be happy on waiting for a long time.

I read a blog post about this hostel as a "luxury" hostel in Dubai. It's total BS.

We booked a stay at Business Bay Central Host and received a confirmation on the same day, with the full payment promptly deducted from our account. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were shocked to learn that they claimed to have no record of our booking. The hotel staff were not only rude but outright scammers. They insisted that we had no reservation despite showing them the confirmation from Agoda. To make matters worse, they demanded extra money for each person if we still wanted to stay, far exceeding the original cost we already paid. It felt like a bait-and-switch scam, where they lure guests in with a lower price only to extort more money upon arrival.
