I wouldn't let a 3 legged dog stay here.
We had booked at the sister hotel Carrisbrooke but was told no room was available and put up at Bonnington instead.
We ended up moving from Room 2 which is right on the stairs to Room 5 on the first floor. Unclean rooms, dusty, pubes in towels. Room 2 & 5 Showers didn't work properly due to dirty showerheads (I cleaned Room 5's shower head - you're welcome) The noise from other guests was appalling at night and because the ceilings are so high, with no curtains or carpet it made it much worse. Rooms 2 & 5 no plug in sink Rooms 2& 5 Lack of furniture in the rooms 2&5 Dodgy socket No bedside lamp so you had to walk to the door to switch the light off, which was disconcerting in a new place. Rooms 2&5 No carpets, so the beds (that are on wheels) fly across the room when you sit on them. Rooms 2&5 No curtains, just very badly fitting verticle blinds. Rooms 2&5 No remote for TV in the first room 2 but after trying 5 remotes, someone came with a new one. Room 5 remote was taped together. Draught under the door so bad it was causing a breeze. Rooms 2&5 Night porter unhelpful and just let every Tom Dick or Harry into the hotel. Lack of staff. One receptionist (also acting as restaurant clearer, linen deliverer) and a cleaner (acting as cleaner, chambermaid, wiatress/cook) for BOTH HOTELS! No fire notices on stairwell, in reception, breakfast area and room 2. Room 5 had notice of sorts. (see photo) Front door left open at night, allowing people to walk in off the street, shouting. People banging on doors in the early hours of the morning. Room 5 Both Rooms very cold Uncomfortable beds, springs stick out Only one pillow per bed, no extra blankets or pillows. Rooms 2&5 No telephone in the rooms for reception so you have to go up and down the stairs. This is not a hotel, people live there. I spoke to at least 3 people who reside in the building. If you look at the website for Carrisbrooke Hotel and Bonnington Beach Hotel, please DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT IT SAYS. The photos are definitely not of the current rooms. (See photos)
Overall, disgusting place that doesn't even deserve...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights, Friday-Monday. When booking it on the phone the guy did warn us that there's going to be big groups of people and they're likely to come back after drinking and being loud. We arrived, the receptionist was lovely and very welcoming - luckily she was working the whole weekend with us and she helped us with ideas on where to eat, where to go during the day etc etc. Although we both slept all night, the windows were very thin so we could hear everything being said when a group of drunks were going past shouting, the walls and doors are also very thin so could hear everything going on in the hall way and was too scared to move around in case everyone else could hear us walking around. The wifi wasn't great but I wasn't really expecting it to be. Breakfast was really nice although it was in the hotel next door and they didn't check we were even from the hotel so anyone could have walked in. On the website it says they have swimming pools and sell food all day and stuff but they don't and when I asked they said it was because no-one used it but she did give us addresses of near by swimming pools and prices which was decent of her! Because they don't sell food or drinks I would recommend them getting a vending machine or something just so we don't have to leave the hotel for a quick drink or snack. The housekeeping wasn't that good, we came back from the beach and it was clear the housekeeper had been in because she left her notes but she didn't top up the tea, the soaps, the toilet roll etc, the towels weren't changed and she turned the heater off but we turned it on as we left so the room would be warm when we returned. Sunday day time and night time there didn't seem to be anyone around in reception so if we needed anything no-one would be around to help. Giving 3/5 because of the few downers but I would definitely come back, the prices are good for...
Read moreMe and my 2 brothers managed to get together enough money to do a night out in Bournemouth which we was all looking forward too (especially my eldest brother who has Aspergers, learning difficulties and a mental age of 12) when we arrived at the hotel we was instantly stared at with a really evil look by both the owner and the receptionist. We had the £20 security deposit ready to give to them and the owner said 'its £60 for you 3. £20 per person. We was understanding with this as thought we had read the conditions wrong. We went to the cash point a few doors up and withdrew the other £40. Went back with the money and I genuinely just queried why it was that our booking receipt only stated £20 for the room not £20 per person like he had stated, I stayed calm and didn't say anything out of line. He then asked for the card we had used to pay. He took it, refunded the money and basically turned us away. We decided to give them a call a short while after leaving to ask how we go about putting in a complaint. The reply we got was beyond extreme. I've never ever been spoken to like that by anyone. Unfortunately cant share exactly what he said on here but it was rather rude. We then called back to find out why. He then started calling us Coke Heads and Junkies. And said we was off our heads (we wasn't, would never ever go near anything like that) to accuse us of it was sick. He then started proceeding to take the mick out of my disabled brother finding it all rather funny. Have reported to the police and have put in a formal complaint. Will be going to trading standards on Monday with the recorded evidence we have from the phone calls. DONT EVER STAY HERE THE STAFF ARE BEYOND RUDE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THEN HERE. THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. WE WAS MADE TO FEEL THREATENED & INTIMIDATED...
