On Friday the 12th September at the said hotel, we found the rooms allocated to us to be nothing like the rooms shown on a booking website, the first thing noticed in the room my daughter and grandchildren stayed in was a discoloured patch on the ceiling with what appeared to be a hole possibly made by a screwdriver because of the shape of the hole, the showers in both rooms were covered in black mould and dirty, there was used left over toiletries in both rooms, the rooms were well below the standards you would expect in a so called highly rated Hotel shown on a website, my oldest granddaughter is autistic and suffers from asthma, this has had an effect on her so not an ideal room.| The room my wife had wasn’t up to standard and also, unclean and unhealthy like my daughters room, my wife has heart and other health problems, this prevented her using the shower due to the health risks of the black mould in the shower cubicle, tiles and shower unit, at midnight on the day of arrival, my daughter was woken by dirty water coming through the ceiling were the holes are, it soaked the children’s clothing which was in an open suitcase, my daughter went down and spoke to the owner who in turn handed her a bin with a towel in it, he said she could dry the wet clothes in his tumble drier, he made no attempt to check the room so we believe he knew about the problem, (my daughter ended up buying some new clothes on the Saturday as some of the children’s clothes needed to be washed because of the dirt water), my daughter asked for another room, he replied the hotel was full, the following night at 10pm once again water started coming through the hole in the ceiling, again she went back down to speak to the owner, his reply was I gave you a bin!, again my daughter asked for another room, he said one would be available on Sunday.|On the Sunday he disappeared for the day, no change of room forthcoming, my wife had spoken to him the day before about the rooms, he said he would deduct a night’s stay as compensation, which was not the answer she was looking for, she wanted clean rooms.| On the Monday morning, checking out day, my wife and daughter went down and spoke with the owner asking how to sort out the situation amicably, the owner wanted full payment which my daughter refused, he started shouting so my daughter refused to pay the remainder of the weekend stay, he asked for the keys and evicted them from the hotel, evicted a disabled adult and a disabled child, shocking behaviour, they ended up or over an hour early for their train journey home, the state of the rooms, stress and anxiety caused, especially to my autistic granddaughter who hardly slept due to the water situation is an utter disgrace, please note, the hotel owner, Craig, was made aware on the Friday night of my granddaughter’s disability and health i.e. Asthma. |The photos, although not the best show black mould in shower cubicles, tiles and shower units in both rooms, pipes beside the sinks furred up and filthy, extractor fans filthy and furred up, water damaged ceiling with holes, you will see this is not new, damage around a double electrical socket with a filthy plug and cable, shower switch, I wouldn’t let an animal...
Read moreJust returning home after a 2 night with my partner and our friends! We were late booking in due to traffic on the motorway but that wasn't a problem at all, met at the door by the host who was friendly, warm and welcoming, gave our choice for breakfast in the morning and went up to our room to settle in! Room was a family room with a set of bunk beds in so perfect for those staying with children, kettle and 4 cups with complimentary biscuits along with a choice of tea or coffee, room and shower/toilet were all spotless and the decor all matching, bath towels that actually went around me being a cuddly size, bed was just so comfy I actually didn't want to get up in the morning! Breakfast for us consisted of full English, with toast, there are also pastries, cereals and yoghurts along with orange, apple juice and water available along with tea and coffee! Nothing was to much trouble for our host and my friend an I enjoyed a lovely chat after breakfast just putting the world to rights with him! There is also a bar situated but we didn't use it due to the location of the hotel literally being a 6 min walk onto the sea front and all of the attractions! Would I stay here again absolutely, will we be booking again, most definitely, can't rave about this hotel and the...
