đïž âFrom Boiled Eggs to Soul-Powered Stays â My Unforgettable Visit to The Flintsâ
If Blackpool had a secret ingredient for joy, it would be quietly tucked away on Park Road, served daily with soft-boiled eggs (request) continental included and a side of unconditional warmth at The Flints Guest House. I stayed here from the 22nd to 26th Julyâand I left with more than a tan. I left with a full heart, a few cat stories, and an open invitation to lifeâs cozier side.
Now, The Flints isnât just another guest house. No no. Itâs like your nanâs house if she teamed up with Mary Poppins and added WiFi. Here, only one party books at a timeâwhether you're an adventurous solo traveller or rolling deep with seven mates and a suitcase full of snacks. Itâs privacy, peace, and Peter the cat (who moonlights as Blackpoolâs feline Casanova).
đ© Meet Your Hosts: Enter HeatherâQueen of Clean, culinary wizard, and part-time superhero. And then thereâs Leightonâcooler than a cucumber at a spa retreat. When the electrics tried launching their own DJ career mid-breakfast, Leighton casually conducted a symphony of switches like he was born in a fuse box. Toast? Technically warm bread. Vibe? 10/10.
đŸ House Mascot Alert: Peter the cat is cheekier than a toddler with a biscuit tin. Heâs cute, charismatic, and occasionally brings half the neighbourhoodâs feline elite for an impromptu rooftop rave. Purrfectly charming.
đïž The Flints Touch:
Homecooked meals kissed by love and continental vibes
Sensory toys and aids for kids with additional needs
Quiet calm spaces for adults navigating ASD, ADHD, anxiety, or just life itself
Ministry support if requested (donât worry, no hymn book hurlingâjust quiet kindness)
Ear plugs provided to negotiate with Blackpoolâs early morning seagull choir đ¶
Heather hands you her number like James Bond hands out gadgetsâpractical, reassuring, and always on standby if you need a chat, a pep talk, or just directions to the best chip shop. Sheâs the kind of host whoâll text you mid-shop to see if youâve got your suncream... and your self-esteem topped up.
đ Bonus Perks: Leighton doesn't just fix electrics. He carries luggage like a mythic hero and offers lifts to the coach station, turning goodbyes into warm see-you-soons.
đ Inclusivity Wins: With three amazing children of their own, Heather and Leighton have made their guest house a beacon for the LGBTQ+ community, those with additional needs, and anyone who just wants to feel safe, seen, and supported.
So what can I say? You arrive a stranger. You leave with a renewed zest for life and possibly a fridge magnet. Go once, and youâll be hookedânot because itâs fancy, but because itâs human. Heather and Leighton donât just host. They heal.
Five stars, no hesitation. Just book it. Then tell...
Read moreStayed at the The Flint Hotel, and was warmly welcomed by Heather and Leighton and extended family, I deliberatley didnt read the blurb before stopping over so i could experience myself, was pointed in their direction by fellow worship friends who recommended I stay for much needed respite. Nothing was too much bother, the accommodation was top class, very clean, thoughtfully planned out. I stayed in the upper apartment which is designed to be accessible only to myself or those on that floor, I had the King size bed and room which overlooked the road, which was busy during the day and relatively quiet at night, they had clearly thought about this and installed double glazing to prevent noise intrusion. My room had a ensuite shower, toilet and sink facilities down the corridor was a very large bathroom with a large bath and shower unit and toilet also with additional accommodation, my room with the additional rooms would suit a family with perhaps 2 children. The Hotel was plesantly decorated bright and airy clearly a lot of work has gone into this establishment. Heather and Leighton didnt hide their Faith ( Christian) but were not intrusive and pretty laid back about matters leaving the door open for those with questions about Faith to explore but not dogmatic, they have had a lot of experiene working with people from all walks of life and welcome all people. Breakfast was Continental based with Heather on hand to serve if needed and she will drop some croissants in the oven to greet you at breakfast if you decide, yoghurt served etc I will let you discover yourself, had brief chat if the guests wanted that. A large TV in the breakfast room with Lo Fi music, but option guests to make their own choice of viewing and music. Books in the room and breakfast room and games for the little one. The hotel is accessible with off road parking for 1 car which leads to the main road this needs navigating Heather and Leighton can be there if needed to allow access to the road and also stood on pavement to wave you in. . For me it was the small touches that made the difference I wont say more and let that be a pleasant experience for you. Blackpool despite the bad press it gets was okay, a 5 min walk to the Pier and Tower and for adventurous Fleetwood is a 15 min drive or you can leave you car and catch the Tram, the Beach is very clean, mind the tide if you wade out as it comes in fast like at Blackpool Enjoy will be visiting again...
Read moreHeather & Laighton go above and beyond for their guests from the moment we set foot in the door to when we were leaving we were met with warmth, friendliness and hospitality that I can't even begin to describe. It was my daughter's birthday treat to go to Blackpool not only did she decorate the breakfast room she actually went out her way to get a thoughtful gift, card and cake. Nothing at all was to much trouble we had absolutely everything in the rooms and then some fantastic added extras, nightlight, games, books huge fire tvs with netflix, youtube etc. A bathroom that's been about the size of some hotel rooms we have stopped in the past and every imaginable snack, coffee, tea item. It was simply a little peice awesomeness to call home for the weekend.
I booked after seeing the review on YouTube from Roy Sting (if you know you know) and it did not disappoint for ÂŁ95 a night for a family of 3 with a dedicated floor, 2 bedrooms (one with king size bed) 2 bathrooms, parking, WiFi and a continental breakfast to die for with Peter the cat giving out fistbumps and High fives (Yes really!!). Your not going to find anywhere with the warmth, fun and all round loveliness that is the Flints Blackpool.
I am urging anyone whose going to Blackpool to stop here its trully VIP accommodation for not VIP prices. You can tell Heather loves what she does and shines through...
