The hotel had a no smoking policy or we’ll be fined, yet THE WHOLE HOTEL smells like smoke (even our room toilet!) When we stayed in the room, the water pressure was really slow and there was no cold or warm water. The shower only had hot water and we couldn’t even shower for a night. We asked the reception to fix it and he said he’ll send someone to fix it within the next hour. When we came back (after 4 hrs later) IT WAS STILL NOT FIXED!! So we asked the reception again and we met another guy instead. We told him the situation and how the sink also had small pressure and initially he said that’s just the way it is for the whole hotel but after I showed him the shower video he was silent. He then said the maintenance guy left and there’s nothing he could do. We asked if we could move to another room and he said no because he’s not the manager. He said he’ll try his best to fix the issue, so we asked when can we expect to get this fixed and he emphasised that no promises that it’ll be fixed and that he’ll only “try”. So obviously nothing happened and we couldn’t even shower until the next day when the manager actually was on the reception and we finally got moved to another room. In the new room, there were no towels provided and we had to get towels from the housekeeping. Good location but definitely have so much room for improvements because there were too many issues happening. When we checked out, the guy just said have a nice trip initially without giving us our deposit and we had to ask for it back from him.

One of the cheapest options in downtown. Located extremely close to Paddington Station and perfect for us as a stopover before travel. The reviews make it sound terrifying but our check in was easy and confirmed through a 3rd party booking website. We arrived in the evening and quickly checked in though I wish I would have had 50 GBP cash for the deposit though it was put on my card. I wish I had cash because it's one less thing to follow up on if you're traveling. The room had standard linens, towels, and plenty of soap and shampoo sachets. Water pressure was fine and water was nice and hot for showering. The bathroom is a little cramped but adequate and expected for price. A small TV and wall mounted fan were there but I did not use either. There was also a small desk and kettle with complimentary coffee and milk in single serving capsules which was a nice touch. Not much of a view with another room jutting out on one side but it also had a relatively open view towards some nearby buildings. If anything the hotel was a little too close to the station and the trains were audible but also relatively infrequent. I got a good price nearly 70% cheaper than anywhere else in the vicinity so I was pleased with the value.

Location, location, location... It's all about it. 450 meters from Paddington Station. Otherwise, the room itself was clean. There were two small mildew spots on the bathroom ceiling, and all it would have taken was a quick swab from a disinfecting cloth, but honestly, I couldn't be bothered. I did clean off the lint gathered on the bathroom exhaust fan, which immediately made it better, maybe. The windowsill had a plastic covering that wasn't quite cut to size and not held down by anything. The window frames were old and peeling, but functional. My point is that it could have been very nice with just a little elbow grease, but the haphazard and incomplete attempts to renovate fell short - very short in aggregate. But the beds were clean and comfortable, and that location and price were exactly what I needed. I was a solo traveler, and there were three single beds in my room, but I suspect that provided additional space not found in some other rooms. I am glad I didn't have time to watch TV; it was smaller than my computer monitor.

Not even sure where to begin.|Stayed at Ascot Hyde Park for 12 days July-August 2025 we had previously stayed here in 2022 and it was great but fast forward to 2025 and this place is a dive! Only reason for returning was how central the location was for transport with the buses and the tube.|Scaffold everywhere, with workmen walking past your room at early hours of the morning. Curtains on the 1st floor that barely closed properly allowing people to see in and limiting privacy. The room was so small for two single people traveling together, the bathroom was tiny and had no ventilation in, after having a shower and dried off you became hot and sweaty again and couldn't put your clothes on and felt suffocated.|The room itself was hot and only had pedal stool fan, which is not enough to help cool down during the day and night in summer. If it was winter it would be a different story.|The tv did not work, no reception or mainly a blank screen. Reception staff were told and was not fixed nor did they care, an overhead lamp broke at hit my mum in the head one night I will say they fixed that immediately after being notified.|For the duration of our stay our sheets were not changed once in 12 days, we were vigilant as there was what appeared to be black spots on our pillow cases. Beds were hard and one pillow each, the pillows were flat and very uncomfortable.|House keeping one day had not restocked the UHT milk, I went down stairs and asked reception if we could have some milk and he said he will bring some up as there was none at the reception desk, never showed up with a supply of UHT milk. Most hotels we stayed in had a mini fridge so we would supply our own milk for tea/coffee and breakfast's, however, this place doesn't have a mini fridge. And in winter it isn't so bad as you can leave milk on the window ledge and it will stay cold, don't have that luxury in summer.|The hotel stunk of cigarette's which is rather hilarious considering its a non smoking hotel, but reception staff constantly out the front smoking and the balcony in our room had old cigarette butts all on the floor.|Laundry bags always in the hallways blocking the lifts or doors, which is definitely a hazard.|We considered checking out early, considering this accommodation had cost over $2,000 AUD for 12 days.|We accidentally had left a kindle behind and realised about 5 days later, I called Wednesday morning at 1012 am and reception said they would call in 30-60 mins later after speaking with house keeping. Surprise no return phone call, my mum than later called at 1515 hours and was accused by the same male on reception that we had just called an hour ago, which to he was corrected it was well over 4 hours since first phoning and clearly had not spoken with house keeping and used the excuse the room is occupied currently.|Fellow guests have minimal respect for others staying in the hotel, people constantly slamming doors up until 0130am. Gone are the days where people had manners and would be a little more quiet when coming and going especially late at night.||Would not stay again after this, for the amount they charge Ascot Hyde Park Hotel is not worth staying in, this place could do with an overhaul of staff and revamping inside. Could spend a little more and get something better. The photos on the website are not a truly reflection of the hotel's...

I booked a room here last minute and have to say the price was excellent - less than £200 for a Friday and Saturday night in Central London in peak Christmas season.||||After booking but before travelling, I then got worried after reading some of the reviews on here and almost cancelled to book somewhere else, but I'm glad I didn't.||||The location is excellent - it's pretty much over the road from Paddington Station where you can catch the Elizabeth, Bakerloo and District/Circle line tubes, and about 5min walk from Lancaster Gate where you can catch the Central Line tube (which runs all night on Fri/Sat), so it's a perfect base to explore any part of London.||||Staff were helpful and efficient upon check-in.||||There was a strong bleach smell when I first went into the room, and again on the second day after the room had been serviced but it disappeared after having the window open for ten minutes. I assume this is just because they use cheap industrial standard cleaning products, and at least this means you know the room has been cleaned thoroughly.||||After reading reviews on here, I checked the room thoroughly for any sign of bedbugs, but couldn't find any. The mattress on the bed was brand new, so I assume if this was a problem previously, the management have taken steps to resolve it.||||The furniture in the room is a little bit aged, but honestly does anyone even use the drawers and closet for anything other than to hang your coat up? There was a working TV (although reception of some channels was poor) and hairdryer. There was also a kettle that looked brand new and good quality branded products - PG Tips tea, Nescafe coffee and Lotus Biscoff biscuits.||||The shower was excellent - walk-in with good water pressure and water was hot throughout the duration of my stay, even at 1am when I got back from an evening out. The shower door closes fully so you don't end up with water all over the bathroom floor which happens in some hotels. There's also enough room for two in the shower, if you happen to be visiting as a couple.||||All in all, I would say don't be put off by some of the negative reviews. The management here are clearly working to keep the hotel up to date and provide a good service, and I would happily...
