🚇 Paddington 🍺 £6.95 Bohem Czech Lager
A Beer Enthusiasts Paradise.
The Bear pub is located in the busy backstreets of Paddington in West London. The nearest Tube is Paddington, the station is only a couple of minutes walk away.
This pub opened it’s doors in December 2022 and is part of the @craftbeerco stable of pubs. This is their first pub to be given a name rather than the brand name, I feel this is a good move which will attract the more traditional pub goer.
This is a good size pub that has the main bar on the ground floor and an additional room downstairs called The Den. The main bar has a contemporary feel and is decorated in vibrant colours. The servery is located on the right hand side as is illuminated by some amazing original 1950’s lights that hail from the Czech Republic. The seating is a mix of cosy booths, long banquettes and traditional chairs around stylish gloss wood tables. The Den in the basement is a cosy affair with similar styling as the main bar.
The Beer selection is outstanding, there are 29 keg, 6 cask ales and over 200 bottled beers to choose from. I decided on a Bohem Czech Lager from Tottenham based brewers @bohembrewery . My pint was excellent, I really enjoyed it, price point was a little punchy. The food menu is predominantly burgers which are all home made. A Rump Burger and House Chips cost £15, there are veggie and vegan options too.
I arrived just before 5pm for a Friday afterwork pint. The pub was busy with locals, after work drinkers plus a few tourists. The atmosphere was buzzy and upbeat with a nice welcoming feel. I got chatting to the Manager who is a top fella, he told me all about the pub and was kind enough to give me a tour of the pub.
This is my third visit to a Craft Beer Co pub, all of which have been superb visits, @thebearpub_cbc was no exception. This is a modern London pub offering a fantastic range of beers, in welcoming surroundings with personable hospitality. Get this one on your list.

BEER PARADISE: Delicious craft beer on offer, no commercial beer, only people with good taste should enter this place. The variety is impressive, with both guest beers (always different ones available) and a selection of "house" beers. Not many pubs offer good wheat beer on tap and this one does it very well. In any case all lagers, pilseners, IPAs, etc., available are great and for all tastes. They also have a great selection of bottled beer (Specially Belgian). If you are not in mood for beer, they also have a great and different selection of spirits and wine, other than the usual commercial brands. Also, beer is reasonably priced, specially for an experience area like Paddington.
Staff - Attentive, polite, explain all beers on tap and serve you nicely. Feel free to get samples of beer if you are not sure of your choice.
Decoration: It just makes you want to enter the pub, even if you don't want to drink and you're passing by, it works like a magnet attracting you to come in. It looks like a proper typical pub, with brand new decoration and all the taps together offering a nice view.
Food: Burgers were good and chips amazing. The sauces available are also different from usual Heinz and great.
Only downsides: .The vegan/vegetarian option of burger is quite bad and should be changed (this is the feedback of 2 vegetarians I know). One vegan and one vegetarian option would be great.
.Too many beers. It can get...
Read more(Did not order food) Not one to post a negative review unless warranted but in this case-warranted. Stopped in with my husband for a drink,a beer and a double gin & tonic at a higher cost than many other local pubs,23£.50. Nice looking place, loved the decor, very quiet & not at all busy at 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon. The issue was when I ventured downstairs to use the ladies room did my "tinkle" and no toilet paper!! Since I did not have any tissue & napkins with me,I moved to the next stall since I did not want to smell of urine the remainder of the day.....again NO toilet paper....next stall, thank God,a small roll on top of the large dispenser. Upon leaving,I notified the two bartender ladies about the need for more toilet paper. Their reply is what pushed me to write the review. Admitted they were aware & did not address it, said they were sorry very nonchalantly & that was the end of it. They were not busy at all, just chatting behind the bar! At least they knew where that magic roll of toilet paper was...so much for their...
