12/15/24 - Shady hotel! Stay clear! We were traveling home, it was the middle of the night, I searched hotels nearby. Found this Days Inn and called about booking a room (even though we were about 5 minutes away). It was like a 800 number for reservations so I booked the room and while i was waiting on the phone for the confirmation (they had a room), i had walked into the actual hotel lobby. The guy at the desk whispers and says to cancel the reservation, he can give it to me cheaper. I cancelled the reservation i had done on the phone. The guy then proceeds to say he would like to show me the room, which i thought was weird, but was going to go see it. My wife is waiting in the car, so on the way out the door, i let her know what's going on. she thought it was weird too. Anyway, she sat in the car. I'm talking to this guy and expressed that i thought this was a little weird. We walk back in the lobby really quick because he had paper work for me, which shows i was paying over $100. I stated that was more than the reservation i had made on the phone. That's when he pulls me aside (outside) and says i can cash app him (cheap amount-we only needed the room for like 5 or 6 hours of sleep) and no worries, but that i would also need to sign the paperwork for the $100+ charge, but that i wouldn't actually be charged. He still insisted on walking me around the back of the building to show me this room as well. At this point, it was all too shady. We just left. We got a really weird vibe at this place....not to be trusted. Didn't feel safe at all....
Read moreWe booked this Days inn through Expedia. Our selections were slim because there were a lot of travelers that weekend. The pictures and reviews made it seem like a great place to recharge for the night. First things first. This is a motel not a hotel. We knew this when we booked but for some reason it is listed as a hotel. When we pulled in the first thing we noticed is that it is very poorly lit on the outside. The people who were standing outside of their rooms at 1am were drinking screaming at others in the parking lot and doing drugs. When I got out of the truck to go check in one guy standing outside of his room threw a beer bottle at a guy in the parking lot. I honestly have no idea what was going on and I wish I had my camera going but I wasn't expecting it. I was traveling with my wife my mother-in-law and two small children. Honestly I didn't feel safe even checking in. Whit the trash outside throwing beer bottles and insults to one another I was wondering if bullets would be flying next. I tried calling Expedia to ask them to cancel the stay so we could book elsewhere but after 45 minutes on hold I gave up. We ended up going to the next town and getting a place. Unfortunately I can't comment on the inside of the motel because I never made it that far. I do feel like if the parking lot wasn't so dark and the management was paying attention to what was going on it would have prevented the shenanigans that was...
Read moreI am a female truck driver that got done early for the day and thought I would treat myself to a room for the night to get out of my truck. I paid for my room and was uncomfortable the second I seen that a few doors down from mine were some men sitting outside of there room, drinking beer, with the music up loud but I ignored them, put my bag in my room then walked next door to a restaurant to eat. I returned a short time later and made sure I locked the door behind me, noticing that the latch you flip around for added protection did not stop the door from being opened. Not even a minute later there was a knock at the door, which I hesitantly opened. There was a gentleman asking “how much for my business?” What!?!? I am not in that business, I was so thoroughly insulted! I’m sitting here typing this and I’m still shaking. I immediately went to the front desk where the girl working moved me to a room where I felt safer (if I had the time left on my ELD clock required for truck drivers, I would have went somewhere else) There are cameras here so hopefully they deal with the individual. If you are a female traveling alone, I would...
