Western Sizzlin — Restaurant in Adel

First time in a while I have not liked a place very much. It was a waste of time walking across the street. The place was dirty, trash and whatnot all over the floor and there was a smell that I couldn't place assaulting my nose. The waitress was fine, attentive for the most part considering it's a buffet restaurant. Drinks and plate removal please. The buffet itself?...Where do I start?..The food was bland and average as far as the chicken and potatoes, ect went. Was your typical buffet serving I suppose. The salad bar was horrible at best, lettuce was wilting, the pasta and dairy parts that are supposed to be cold, were warm and inedible unless you want to take a chance and get food poisoning. It was mentioned and they only took temperature of the food and added ice water to try and cool it down... sorry..but once that stuff is warm, you need to remove it from the salad bar to prevent someone from getting sick. The dessert bar was extremely average, basic peach and apple cobbler, some sort of flat bread with frosting that was supposed to be bread pudding? The banana pudding was vanilla pudding with cookies only...no whipped cream or banana chunks or slices. The only saving grace was the Mac and Cheese and only because it was hot. Honestly..if you want better food and atmosphere that is clean and welcoming... cross the street to Don Julio's for some great...

The absolute worse meal and service we have had when traveling or ever period. Not familiar with the restaurant but love our steak. Walked in, did not know how anything worked. Asked if we wanted buffet. We answered in the affirmative. Going through buffet we asked when we order steak or how. Waitress said that we had to order when we paid. Went up to counter and ordered our steaks. The 2girls at the counter were frankly,worthless. Never explained a thing. Ordered our steaks, she asked if we wanted a salad, I said we have salad on the buffet. I ordered a 20oz. Rib eye medium and a 10oz. Sirloin xtra rare. Server brought them out, identified the wrong steak for each. My wife and I switched them ourselves. My ribeye became 10 oz, after I cut away the fat and grizzle. Both steaks were ice cold.on our way out someone said that if you order steak you get the buffet for $9.99. No one told us that and we were charged full price for both. $64.75. When we approached at the end, no one knew how to adjust and would not do it. Asked for coffee, they said that they don’t have any, Another person heard them and said that she could make some, whoopee, someone that cared. Take some lessons from Golden Corral. Maybe that is why they are growing and you are barely in business,NEVER again will we walk into Western...

Traveling through GA on Easter and we stopped in for a meal. While we looked at the menu, the gentleman at the front desk starts off with, "our kitchen is closed and all we have is buffet ". No hello, no welcome in. Nothing!. My fiance decides to go to their restroom, I stay behind and kinda looked at the buffet from where I am. That man gives me a stare and said, "we close at 7 anyways ". I responded with, ok. I was still trying to figure out what to do, stay and eat or leave. Then another customer walks up towards him with a to go box, a drink and an employee following him. When he gets to the front, the gentleman tells him that's $2 something. The customer asked him, "are you really charging me for the cup"? The gentleman says yes. The customer responded with, "but I always come in and no one ever charges me" and the gentleman said, "well thats the rule and if you want, call tomorrow ask for the general manager and he'll tell you the same". The customer paid him and said " well happy Easter I suppose ". And this is what made me decide to not eat there, leave and share this review. The employee, that man answered "Ya, you too, I have to work and I want to get out of here". That to me is uncalled for. My fiance got back and we left. Definitely not returning there thanks to that...
