This is a mixed review. |Overall, the hotel is quite good, but you may need to adjust your expectations about room size and hotel layout. It's a newly refurbished property, and Hyatt has tried to upgrade an older hotel with mixed success. We were on a family trip, and stayed 5 nights.||The staff are wonderful. They allowed us to check several different rooms, and pick our preferred one. One room had a problem with the toilet; the plumber came immediately and fixed it. Though our room was far from the foyer (of which more later), room service was very prompt. They were friendly and helpful and tolerant even when some of our party were upset about the rooms. (One of the staffers had just graduated high school and was there for the summer, but she took her work so seriously and was so helpful, I think she will do excellently in any service-oriented organization.) ||The only thing is, the bell service to take luggage to and from the rooms was patchy. Sometimes there's a trolley and a bellman, and sometimes there isn't.||The new decor is beautifully done, with artistic wood and leather accents. The hotel looks very ordinary from outside (maybe will look better once the plantings grow out a bit), but the foyer was attractive and welcoming. It's got a pleasant seating area with a fire.||However, the refurbishing of the hotel couldn't change the layout. It has extremely long tunnel-like window-less corridors, with the rooms giving off them. They're rather claustrophobic. They're also narrow, so if service carts are in the way and people are going back and forth with rolling suitcases, it gets crowded. ||The small foyer gift shop (which also sells coffee) is very nice, but it closes by 6 pm. I'd expect a hotel gift shop to stay open much later.||The rooms are what didn't quite work for us. I think if it had been one person staying 1-2 nights, it would have been fine. But for a couple staying 5 nights, it was quite cramped. ||# It's been furnished with an eye to maximizing the utility of the space. There's a banquette built in, an oval glass table, and (instead of a closet), a frame in which to hang clothes.|# It also has low popcorn ceilings, which detract from the room's aesthetic.|# The bathroom is small. It has limited counter space to open even one toilet kit; two was difficult. It's quite well-appointed and functional though not luxurious.|It has a walk-in shower, which was fine for us. |# The bed was very comfortable. |# The armchair provided was not. We ended up asking for another chair and got something like a dining chair. One of us had a bad back, and neither the banquette nor the armchair were comfortable. |# The coffee machine used those coffee pods, which was unnecessarily complicated to set up and use. |# The fridge in retro red enamel was a nice touch, and it also worked well.|# There's a full-length wall mirror, which is nice.||On the whole, the hotel was quite good, but based on the positive reviews I think maybe our expectations were too high. As a pleasant, functional hotel, located downtown, it's pretty okay. But it's...

"I'm making an exception" he says. At the time I was asked to provide a credit card “for incidentals only,” and was told there would be a $100.00 hold. I was never informed or asked to sign anything indicating that full room charges would be applied—especially considering the room was already paid for by the Airlines. The room was under my daughter and paid for. ||To my shock, the next morning, I discovered over $700 in pending hold charges on my bank account. Four days later, on July 5, a charge of $781.76 was taken out and two more charges—$390.88 and $290.88—are still pending as of 7-7-2025. I'm back home and there still taking my money!!! My account is now overdrawn by more than $600, and my travel funds were completely frozen during what was supposed to be a short, joyful trip.||Multiple calls and attempts to speak with management were met with vague answers, no urgency, and no accountability. I was told the funds would be reversed. 5-7 days is unacceptable! If they can take it out basically as soon as I gave me card then they should put it back as fast!!!!! |I have since tried to contact Hyatt corporate through every channel—email, live chat, Linkden and customer service pages—but the links are broken, and I have not been able to find a working email address to lodge a formal complaint. The Hyatt website leads to 404 error pages when trying to submit an issue. Come on Hyatt get it together! ||The hotel itself was very nice with the exception of being put at the furthest point in the hotel and the carpets are so thick in the halls it's difficult to pull your luggage. They should have a bellhop on duty 24-7 - it took us 15 minitues to get to the lobby from our room becaue of the thick carpet and our bags would not pull easly. Honestly back & neck are hurting now because of it. |On a postive, the room was beaufiul and Hannah was understanding and listened but I know here hands were tied. No complaints about her, but the manager on duty clearly did not follow proper policy and should never have allowed early check-in if it was going to trigger full charges. Basically Hyatt got paid double for a room. Messed up my mini vaca because funds were frozen!! 1This mistake should not have happened, and the lack of customer service from Hyatt as a whole is incredibly disappointing. I'm still trying to get my money back. |I expected better from a brand with Hyatt’s...
Read moreI checked out early the fumes from painting, construction work or the new carpet made me sick. I was there Thursday night then again on Sunday. I felt sick in bed the last 36 hours. Checked out early and already feeling better at Marriott.
Not much good to stay. Stayed one night Thursday and two nights Sunday-Tuesday
Checked in 1 am Friday morning needing to leave at 6 am to Seward to catch a boat. The room assigned at 1 am was a quarter mile hallway from lobby. The room was dirty, trash in room, unclean and dirty sheets and towels on floor. Had to walk aback and down a floor to another room didn’t get in a clean room until 2 am.
The pillows are awful, cheap full and hard. I got a stiff neck and headache
Checking in Sunday I called down for true down pillows or a thinner, softer pillow. I was told they had no other pillows. Here i am next day with raging migraine and stiff neck from bad pillows. Stopped by front desk to let them know their pillows are awful and I am unwell from them and have to go buy a pillow. Front desk said they have down and better pillows, someone was too lazy to help me and I lost a day of my vacation miserable with stiff neck and migraine.
The hotel made me sick. I laid in bed for two days. As soon as I checked out felt completely better in two hours. No more migraine. I think construction and paint fumes. Room loud, building under constructions, trash trucks have come twice and building materials strewn around back area. Not impressed.
Lamps and lighting are nice. I cannot recommend here from poor reliability, service and not up to Hyatt brand. Picture below was condition of room when I walked in at 1 am. They had NINE hours past check in time to...
