White Spot Cafe — Restaurant in Alaska

A wonderful experience every time I have eaten at White Spot. I've brought my friends and family to dine at White Spot and everyone raves about the breakfast, halibut burger, hamburgers...Every single food item we have tried is fresh, flavorful and just absolutely delicious. The staff who have served us are just as wonderful, the owner is so personable and seems to really care about your dining experience at her establishment and John is also such a pleasure to talk to. It's refreshing to be appreciated as a customer. I highly recommend White Spot and although the location of this restaurant may suggest that it is a hole-in-the-wall, when you walk in you are immediately brought back to the historical times in Anchorage because the walls are adorned with art pieces and decor that are filled with memorabilia from Alaska's past and the atmosphere and music (classic pop hits) make you feel like are just brought back in time. I placed an order for pick up, and it took about 5 minutes for them to get to me. It was semi busy so it was understandable. Once they finally asked me what I was there for I told them I had an order for pick up ( the halibut and fries). He handed me the bag and told me I needed to pay. When I told him I paid already he said no I had not. I was confused because I had ordered online. He then looked at it again and realized I had ordered online, but proceeded to tell me that I should just call them next time instead of ordering online because it’s 10% cheaper. Which is great to know :). When I opened my bag on the way back to eat my fries I was disappointed with how greasy, soggy and cold my fries were. They were balled up in foil. I should have went back, but at that point I was just over it. My sandwich was decent, it would have been better if it were warmer. Fantastic food coffee and people. Run by a marine veteran. I must say once I found it I came here every morning for food coffee and conversation before work for the rest of the week. The reindeer sausage is spot on and he gave me the information on where I can order it to get it sent home if I'd like. Customized orders if I wanted to and even had a great low carb breakfast preset up. A lot of food, had one of the flapjacks as it going away present the last day I was there and could only finish about a third of it, and I was starving.

Telling old military stories all morning well sipping on a cup of joe and slicing away at an omelet is one of the best things that happened while I was in Alaska.
