My room was comfortable and fine for my stay. However, one thing that I really have a complaint about....are the characters that are constantly buzzing around the motel inside and out. As I was checking in, this black lady (I am NOT prejudice at all) and had on thick makeup and jewelry and was complaining that some phone was not working. The clerk offered to let her use the one at the front desk. She had no interest in that. As I walked back to my car parked right by the motel, it was abutting it, she started to follow me to ask me for some money. I offered to let her use my phone to call for her taxi (she said she wanted a taxi)...but again, she was not interested. She then again asked for money. Then she asked if she could get in my car so that I could take her a few blocks to where her car was parked. None of this made any sense. Then again she asked me for money to help her out. First it was a few dollars, then five, then twenty or thirty. I decided I would give her five just to get rid of her. My money was in my counsel...so I reached to get my money clip...I was going to give her a five and three ones....as I was peeling off the money, she grabbed two twenties, ran off and said "I love you." Then I heard her talking to some of her companions that were also on the road that leads into Motel 6. I was shocked, but before I could gather my thoughts, they were running off screaming and yelling. Later that night when I went to get something from my car....there were 3 of them just walking around the Motel 6 parking lot. I made sure my car was locked and the alarm on. The next morning as I went to load my car, there were the three women screaming at each other, again right in the Motel 6 parking lot. If they were there at night, later during the night, and then again the next morning.....they had to be trying to hustle people more than just me. This was not what I expected...because I have stayed at many Motel 6s and never had anything like this happen. And they continued to walk in the front door, walk around both floors and then out. That is not a safe thing for your customers to deal with at all. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I visit my son two days each week in Oshkosh, but because of the fly in all the hotels were at least triple in price. I found a good deal at Motel 6. But with the $40 I was robbed of in the Motel 6 parking lot, I paid more than if I had stayed in Oshkosh. A very bad experience for me at...
Read moreBy far the worst lodging experience I have ever had while traveling. I realize it's a cheap hotel - I can deal with outdated or a little dirty since it's just a bed for the night, but this was above & beyond unacceptable. Being a female traveling alone, I actually feared for my safety.
I checked in & several hotel staff were at the front desk talking about how all the rooms were clean already, so it wasn't a problem that I was a half hour early. I was given a key & told to use an entrance further down the building to load in. The door's key reader was broken, so I had to walk all the way back around with my photo equipment & bags. This is pretty inconvenient since I was traveling for work & had a lot of expensive equipment I didn't want to parade through the building. Made me another key at the front desk but said they're aware the door reader was broken so it really didn't matter, even though they just told me use that entrance?
I got to my room & put my equipment case on the bed, which was sitting open. A couple minutes later there was a knock at the door, & an employee told me he needed to check to make sure my room was clean. I said it looked fine, but he insisted he needed to check. I thought this was very strange since the front desk staff said they finished cleaning early & I was checked in.
He walked around the room, spraying a bottle of disinfectant everywhere, all while asking me questions such as how long I was staying, where I'm from, what my name was, & then told me he liked my hair. All of this was just getting too weird - I was clearly uncomfortable & shuffling through my luggage trying to ignore him while he asked me questions & kept spraying all over the already-damp room. The door was closed & he did not seem to want to leave, but eventually did when I told him I really had to go to work. He said he'd see me in the morning.
I highly doubt the room needed to be checked. That encounter made me extremely uncomfortable & I felt unsafe staying. I immediately left & paid for another hotel down the street.
Other factors of note: several large cigarette burns on comforter in non-smoking room, damp carpet, huge yellow mattress stains. Storm window on ground-level room was falling off - anyone could've easily broken in.
Functional doors, privacy, & safety aren't unreasonable asks while paying for a room. All of this was just appalling. I paid x2 for...
Read moreI book this room for about $87 a night on the second night they told me we were not booked for that night I called the Thursday before and confirm that I had the room for two nights when we came to into the motel we said that we had a room for two nights the the second day they came pounding on the door and told us we didn't have a room for the second night and if we wanted to stay we would have to pay $340 which we did because we had nowhere else to go I realized it was a football day but I think it was very sleazy the way they handled this had I not confirm twice that we were staying two nights it would be different the manager was very rude he wouldn't give my husband time to talk to me about staying or not he said he had to make up his mind right away I was out getting us something to eat the place wasn't worth $87 to say nothing about $340 it was not clean the beds were very poorly made there was a shortage of towels not only for us but for others and no washcloths I had to go and ask for them I have stayed at Motel 6 before but will never stay at one again I am totally dissatisfied and upset in Green Bay if you don't have a room on game day there is no room to be found but our room was vacant and we could have it if we paid the money so you know they had us down for 2 days the manager said he could do nothing about it because Motel 6 dictates what the prices are going to be I feel this was a scam you booked for a certain price then when you have to stay they raise it to a such a large amount we would have left if my husband had not been feeling so poorly he was trying to rest in the afternoon had he been ready for the game we probably would have left and not paid all that money. The manager was extremely rude. We were treated like we were thieves trying to stay for nothing I think you as a company should look into this place it's dirty unkept the beds are terrible all broke down and should have been thrown away years ago this place will give your your company a bad name had I not stayed in a Motel 6 before I would think that they are all unkept. We have stayed in and around Green Bay for 30 years and have never come across such...
