Update - 2nd Visit: Superica really does care about providing a top experience for their diners.
I write a lot of reviews - some good, some bad, and a lot of okays. But very rarely do restaurants ever contact me about my reviews; let's be honest - most places probably won't have the resources or the time to.
After my review, Trevor the Assistant General Manager asked me to come back and give them a second chance. And I have to say my second time around was a much better experience.
The food was cooked properly and it wasn't overly salted. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable.
For appetizers, I tried out the Classic Chili Con Queso and Chicken Fajita Nachos. The queso was tasty - albeit a little small. And the nachos were good too - they came out in individual bite sized portions - which was interesting/convenient.
My main, I had the Short Rib. This dish is cooked for 36 hours or so (emphasized by the servers) to come out as a very tender flavorful meat dish. It also comes out with a Flintstone-style rib. It was very good.
I still think it's a bit pricey. But this is definitely a venue, I would bring a date or to celebrate a special occasion or to impress a guest.
So to sum up - nice environment - good food - expensive.
1st Visit:
People sing praises about this place. I'm not convinced. Sure the environment/decor is great but the food was just so-so. When you order here it's not cheap. And when I pay what I paid at Superica - I expect well cooked/consistent/delicious food. Superica did not hit all three.
Ordered Guacamole - chips came out soggy/limp. My chips were super salty - someone had a heavy hand with the salt shaker. I asked my server to make sure my main wasn't overly salted. They assured me that the person who salts my main is different from the chips. My main still came out over salted.
My steak came out poorly cooked. I asked for medium rare but it was different all over. Parts were well done/very rare/medium rare. Again if I am paying all this money - I expect my food to be at least cooked right.
So to sum up - nice environment - mediocre food...
Read moreWow! I live in the neighborhood and I've been going to Superica since they opened. Tonight I went with some friends to celebrate my birthday. The hostess was pleasant friendly did her job well the bartender at the bar was fantastic. Once we got to the table things were a lot different. The food was fine nothing fantastic the problem was it took forever to get a waitress and then forever to place an order and then forever to even get our food. Our waitress just disappeared. We actually had to go to the bar and order drinks. The moment we approached the booth we realized before we sat down that the seats were covered in food and drinks all of the seats not just the banquet also the regular chairs. While sitting there waiting I noticed a disgusting amount of dust and lint all over every surface of the concrete bricks that separates the the tables from the kitchen. It was so gross and unappetizing it looked as though those bricks had not been wiped down since the place opened. Right there next to all the food coming out and waiting to be delivered to tables. GROSS. I watched my three tacos sit under the heat lamp for at least 10 minutes (Initially I did not realize they were mine) and then after everyone else was served their food the server went and grabbed those tacos for me! I believe it was the floor manager that stepped in for our waitress who was missing in action and took our orders. She was the only person involved in our dining experience that was interested in providing good service. Our table was never wiped clean between courses and dirty dishes weren't removed. We finally just stacked them at the end of our table where they remained until we left. A basket of chips spilled on the seat and the basket was removed but the seat was not cleaned. Do better. Much better. This was a terrible experience. Zoom in to see the 1/2 of dust...
Read moreWe recently hosted a large corporate party at Superica, and I truly can't say enough wonderful things about the service we received from Jack and Catalia. From start to finish, they brought warmth, joy, and professionalism to the entire evening—and they made our large group feel not just welcome, but genuinely celebrated.
Jack was an absolute gem—attentive, kind, and incredibly thoughtful throughout the night. He anticipated needs before anyone had to ask, gave fantastic menu recommendations, and maintained a calm, cheerful energy that helped everything flow smoothly. A particularly memorable moment? Jack offered—completely unprompted—to take a group panoramic photo of all of us, capturing a beautiful memory that we’ll cherish. It was such a small gesture on his part, but it meant so much to our team.
Catalia was equally incredible—friendly, observant, and full of heart. She made it a point to learn names, connect with individuals, and ensure every guest felt taken care of. When she heard there were a couple of birthdays in the group, she made sure they were celebrated—coordinating a sweet moment that made the evening feel even more personal and festive. Her warmth and attention to detail really brought an extra level of care to the experience.
Together, Jack and Catalia worked in perfect sync. Their communication, teamwork, and sincere enthusiasm elevated what was already a beautiful venue and delicious meal. They made our large corporate event feel intimate, joyful, and seamless—no easy feat with a group our size.
Superica is lucky to have them, and we feel lucky we got to be served by such a dynamic duo. Thank you, Jack and Catalia, for making our night so memorable—you turned a company dinner into something...
