THE ONLY HOTEL ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE CAPITOL! The location and the price are amazing! It is right across the street from the Capitol Square and it was like $61 a night. But the staff and the service are horrible, which is why im giving a 3-star review. The rooms are very basic, but for the price you can't really expect anything more. Everything is a little worn out, which is fine. They only clean the room every third day and we stayed here for five nights. We asked for the room to be cleaned at least three times, and it wasn't. And the last night, the room cleaning consisted of the cleaning lady putting two towels in the bathroom and removing the dirty towels. We were totally out of the toilet paper and even the toilet paper wasn't replaced. Most of the staff at the front desk was pretty rude, but the one guy was really nice. They kept denying everything NO to everything, including extra blankets. So if you want the great great location you can walk to everything from, and the Really reasonable price, don't expect a mansion, this is a great deal. But don't expect your room to be cleaned or the staff to be nice to you, especially the female staff. The last photo shows the towels should replaced, after 4 days of stay, plus she threw some soaps and shampoos all over the bathroom countertop, when she did her "cleaning". Like I said before, the location is awesome, it is literally across the street from the Capital Square and easy to walk to the Congress Street. There is also Avis and Budget car rentals just two blocks away towards the freeway, and the cars are much cheaper to rent at $15 from there then they are from the airport. Uber from the airport is typically $13, but if it's in the middle of the night it's about $40. They added the $45 valet parking fee, so I ended up renting a Navy Scar from two blocks away, using it for the day, and then returning it in the evening. People are still using the valet parking, so I understand that business is business and don't blame them for charging for it, because every hotel around here does charge for parking and they have limited parking.

I waited to write this review to ensure I got my unexpected deposit back. First time visiting Austin for a wedding and I chose to stay here with my family. I had already booked and paid online before arriving a week in advance. Upon arrival I was informed I could not check in until 3pm but the website home page says “early check in” (website does not give accurate information). On top of them telling me I couldn’t check in I was then informed 75.00 was needed as it’s for a “damage deposit”. I was blindsided and asked why this information was not given to me when I booked online because I did not see this on the “hotel policies”. There was no explanation on why it’s not mentioned online all I got was it’s “for damages if applicable”. Then I was informed not only did they need a damage deposit but in order for me to park there I needed to pay an additional 70.00 for parking for TWO nights. Again nowhere on the site or in my agreement I got emailed was this information listed. At this point I am beyond frustrated. My husband went ahead and paid it because we did not have time to look for another place as we needed to get ready for wedding events. We get to the room and it’s nothing as advertised. It’s so dusty and has an odd smell. Every corner of the room has a thick layer of buildup. Walls dirty as can be. There is no mini fridge, microwave, or hair dryer in the room. So be prepared to accommodate for yourself. Rooms do not get cleaned while you are away. I personally wouldn’t recommend this place due to the inconvenience of an additional 145.00 on the spot gone (which 75.00 deposit was given back a week later), the lack of cleanliness, and the lack of communication from the business for not providing up front details to additional charges.

OMG... Is this place an absolute crap hole! I don't think I've stayed or been in a hotel this bad since I stayed at a hotel that had hourly prices!!||The front desk "Lady" was so rude & unaccommodating she should not be anywhere near a customer service job! This place is not a hotel; IT'S A MOTEL don't let them tell you otherwise! The place stinks, the rooms are horrible! There are stains everywhere, (carpet, walls, bed covers, etc.), there's chunks of the walls & windowsills missing, my wife does not have a refrigerator or microwave in her room, even though it says it's supposed to.||There's a flat fee for valet parking which they do not tell you about anywhere on their sites! They say they HAVE valet parking, but they don't tell you that it's mandatory & it's 30+ dollars a day!||There are smells everywhere you turn! From the front lobby entrance to the elevator to the hallways to the rooms!||We went down to go leave & eat out & we decided to tell the Front desk "lady" how bad EVERYTHING is. She told up...AND I QUOTE EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID, "I'm so sorry about that. I will put you in another room, if you'd like." This is after her already telling us that they had no more rooms available & were fully booked... We said, "I thought you were fully booked & she said, "Go eat & I will take care of you. I will make it happen."||YEAH RIGHT!!||So, when we got back from eating, front desk “lady” told us that, NOW she could not accommodate us, and she had no more rooms available. That's when I got involved and basically went off on her. I told her that she was not friendly, had horrible customer skills and that she lied to us and told us that we were going to be taken care of. She then proceeded to give me some song and dance that it took us 3 hours to go eat so that's why she didn't have an available room. Honestly, during graduation time in Austin it's very tough to get around the city and yes, we were gone for at least two hours, but she knew the issues that we had with the rooms & she still went out of her way to make sure that she didn't have any rooms available. So, after arguing back and forth and me getting quite angry, some tall lanky schmuck from the valet department decided to come in and put his two cents in. Honestly, I don't know what he was talking about, nor did I care because he was not involved in this in the very beginning & needed to keep his lanky-a$$ out of my issues!! Then the “lady” decided she was going to call the cops on me, so she did. We left the business; we did not stay there & we will not pay for it! She has since charged my mother’s credit card, but we will dispute this and there's no way that we will pay this company for their HORRIBLE service & Motel. If you stay at this hotel, you are a fool and you have been warned.||Last thing, all of the pictures on their websites are absolute lies! They must be from another location, or somebody took them and doctors them big time because they are not from this location! This location is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!||||I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH DO NOT STAY IN THIS CRAP HOLE! YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF HANGING OUT WITH THE HOMELESS UNDER...

Where do I start?!?!? This was hands down the worst hotel experience of my life (and I'm 68 on a budget). First we were given a room on the third floor. We didn't even get settled in before we realized the toilet was clogged. We called the front desk and they said they would give us a different room. So we hauled our luggage back to the lobby. The carpet in the hall on the third floor was disgusting and black with dirt. There was trash on the floor and the place smelled like mold. The room was fairly clean but dirty fingerprints on the doors indicated they hadn't done a very good job of cleaning. The next room as on the first floor right off the parking lot. We were sweaty and tired and just wanted a shower. My friend went first and she warned me there was no hot water and that whoever installed the shower pan didn't support it because the surface was very uneven and moved on you so it was hard to keep your balance. She thought the debris in the tub was the paint flaking off the ceiling (obvious water damage and paint peeling). Thank goodness she warned me! It was the most surreal sensation! The closest sensation I can describe is if you were standing on an air mattress full of water. Or trying to walk on an old school water bed. When I turned around facing the rear of the tub I took a step to grab my shampoo and a waterfall of disgusting water ran out of the crack between the tub and the wall. It was shocking. I stepped again and it did it again! I the realized the bottom of the bathtub was floating on water under the tub. Maybe that's where the hot water was going?? I lost my balance on the uneven surface slipped and fell on the edge of the tub and have a huge bruise on my thigh and my arm still hurts. There was water all over the floor (coming out of places that should not have water coming out of it) and we had to use all the towels to soak it up. Thank goodness it was on the ground floor or we would have ended up in someone else's room. I can't begin to say how disgusting it was the inside of the bathroom doors were filthy. I was afraid to walk on the carpet in the room barefoot. And I'll be pissed if I get planters warts from the disgusting floor. The next morning there was a huge roach on the floor in front of the bathroom door. We didn't see any bed bugs but it wouldn't surprise me given the condition and level of cleanliness of the sub par establishment. I always thought La Quinta's were nice but I'm going to suffer PTSD from this one. BTW the person at registration said a manager would call me but I'm still waiting. DO...

PLEASE READ: FORCED VALET SERVICE FOR $50. It won't tell you anywhere that you have to pay for valet service. An absolute bad start to a slightly less than mediocre stay. We stayed Friday-Sunday and I can say for sure that the morning/afternoon staff are pleasant and helpful but night staff is hardly ever at the desk so hard to tell. The valet service was also unpleasant. Well the morning valets are perfectly fine but the evening and night time valets are definitely something else. Every time I needed my vehicle brought or parked the valets would always make a face as if I was bothering them by making them do their job. But that's not even the worst part. During the nighttime there's only one valet and he brought the vehicle to us smelling like weed inside. I hate weed. To add to that frustration when I returned he was just on his phone and didn't even look up at me until I was basically tapping on his desk. It got to the point where I would just ask to park my own vehicle to avoid the headache and frustration.Besides all that the location was great. Literally one block away from the capital. Me and some buddies walked to see it and it only took us about 6 minutes walking to be standing right in front of it. Also being in the heart of downtown there's no shortage of bars/restaurants/clubs/hangout spots/tourist attractions. The rooms were nice and cold but make sure to check the filters in your AC unit as ours were completely filthy and we had to wash them in a sink which also drained extremely slowly just like the shower. Definitely not family friendly but should be just fine for a couple of young people just looking for a place to crash and not too worried about the nooks and crannies. Complimentary breakfast was actually good. Probably the best part of the whole stay was the nice woman in charge of the breakfast area. She made sure everything was stocked and was ALWAYS walking around checking on everything. The items offered are Jimmy Dean biscuits, hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, coffee. Apple juice, orange juice, and cranberry juice. Overall it would've been a fine stay but the unexpected forced valet service definitely left a bad taste in my mouth, thus making this a below average stay and chances are we won't be back again. Also I've been seeing people in other reviews complain about the same things for months now and the company keeps responding to reviews but apparently nothing has changed and they have no plans on changing anything...
