Loved this: Two KING beds - rare in hotel/motel and they were really comfortable. Huge room - plenty of space for 3-4 people Two luggage racks and a low portion of desk we used to keep 3 suitcases off the ground Great water pressure in the shower and plenty of space for shampoo/soap Convenient to everything Bar Harbor and Acadia AC worked well-we like it cool at night Pretty view from the Ocean view rooms Wonder View guests are allowed access to all Blue Nose Inn amenities (those rooms are significantly more expensive and are not pet friendly). This gives access to an indoor hot tub connected to a gently heated pool. Pool has a depth of 8' at the deep end which is nice for an indoor pool! Sauna also available in this area. There is also a seasonal outdoor pool. The Looking Glass restaurant is on site and has indoor seating, indoor seating with a view, deck seating with covered shade (umbrellas at each table). This is super convenient, considering the crowds in Bar Harbor. The price of this food is also similar to what you will find eating breakfast in Bar Harbor. This hotel had excellent lighting. It has three lamps, lights over each bed lights over the desk/kitchen area of vanity light and a shower light. There's also a heat lamp in the bathroom. They have a nightlight at the entry and an entry light as well. The exterior is also well in the evening.

Could improve: Pest Control-We had something like 20 or 30 spiders making webs around the outside of our entry door. We found one roach in the bathroom but no others and several of our spiders made their way into the shower in room 71.

Water temperature regulation-the water temperature is extremely hot, so be careful of this. I'm sure it has to be set high in order to supply the entire guest area. With this being said when you set your shower temperature, it may drop off a little bit cold and make you squeal and then it may turn really hot and make you squeal again and burn you so use caution and turn the shower spray nozzle down where you can step back and out of the way of whatever unexpected water temperature surprises you-hot or cold water. This happened to me every day and within the same 10 or 12 second. I would have a warm shower, too cold of a shower, and a burning hot shower. Just be careful the water pressure is awesome though.

For wonder view staff-I believe there are water temperature valves for the shower that helped regulate this type of...

I went on vacation to Bar Harbor with my two sons (18 and 20 years old) and my sister-in-law. I picked this hotel due to the location just outside of town, very quiet at night. The Bluenose Inn next door is affiliated with this hotel and you can use their amenities (outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub and sauna). There were many positives about this hotel. We stayed in the Ocean View Building (room 68) on the second floor, 2 king beds in one room, a queen bed in an adjoining room, one bathroom. We had a beautiful deck with 4 chairs with stunning view of the harbor. The beds, linens and pillows were extremely comfortable. Fresh towels were provided daily by maid staff and light housekeeping. Our room had a full side refrigerator and microwave, and a Keurig machine. A/C worked great but room also had windows you could open at night for fresh air. The Looking Glass Restaurant (breakfast and lunch) was right next door to the building which was super convenient, and food and staff were very good. Acadia National Park is right next do the park and the entrance to one of the Carriage Roads is right there. The Island Explorer Shuttle stops at the hotel so no need to drive into town and fight for parking. My sons are both runners and the location was ideal for their daily runs being so close to the Carriage Road entrance. The hotel is about 5 minutes away from the Hull Cove Visitor Center entrance to Acadia. The room worked for me for what I was looking for, a room for my sons, and a separate room for me, with a nice location and a big refrigerator for drinks and food. The Wonder View Inn, in comparison to the Bluenose Inn, is a bit dated and needs some minor refreshing and maintenance but nothing that was a deal breaker for me. Everything functioned well and staff was great. I would have no hesitation to return to this hotel, but for some pickier folks it may not be the high end experience they are looking for, if that is the case go to the...

Let me start by saying that we have had a very good experience. If you are looking for a hotel with sparkling and shiny furniture then look somewhere else. Wonderview Inn does not look brand new. But as they say, you should never judge the book by its cover. We stayed on the hilltop right under the Looking Glass restaurant. The room had out dated design with oak finish furniture. We had two queen beds. The bedding looked old. But honestly, everything was very clean. The room smelled and felt clean. The towels and linen were clean. We had everything that you would have in any higher star rated hotels. We had a refrigerator, a microwave, a Keurig coffeemaker, a safe. We also had a small sitting area right next to the window. The best part of this room, WE HAD AN OCEAN VIEW. Every morning we woke up to the best relaxing view of the ocean and some small islands. Another best part of our room was our BALCONY. Also, our room had a 55 inch TV (or may be 50 inch, but it looked more like a 55 inch) with cable channels. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels but we never had a 55inch TV in our room. Not that we stayed in the room to watch the TV. When you re in bar harbor, you don't have time to spend in your room anyways. The staff was very friendly and our check-in process was quick and easy. The breakfast was Continental, the soaps and lotion in the room were nice. And you park your car right outside on the room door.so just in case it you forget something in the car, all you have to do is open your room door and there is your car. For the price we paid in the fall season in bar harbor during peak colors when everything else was over priced, this was a reasonably priced and worth the...

The rooms are basic, fairly clean, a few hairs from previous dogs, but the bed was comfortable, the AC worked (thank goodness because it was HOT), good water pressure, and it was quiet. Do they have fancy Netflix included TVs? No. But they do have cable, so you can catch up on all your weird Alien TV shows from History or Travel channel you didn’t even know existed. Want to leave that trash TV behind? Excellent. They have Badminton. Cornhole. Horse Shoes. A pool. A restaurant (not open when I was there, but the view was niceeeee). A tire swing. Yeah I said it. Tire. Swing. Mini golf. Not 18 holes. Oh no, no, no, but this one hole. The only hole. Pretty moderate to ok. Especially for free. Wanna take a picture in the biggest Adirondack chair you have ever seen? Well buckle up. Put on those hiking boots, and strap on a safety harness. These things are big. And feel like they could snap if you’re heavy enough, but they sure are neat. So. Long story short, staff was INCREDIBLY kind, rooms were decent to good. And the location to the park was VERY close. 5 mins to the park and 4 to town. Can’t be beat for the price point. Still pricey, but way less than the other options. Oh yeah. Did I mention the mini fridge and the microwave? Or the free coffee for your own personal Keurig??? Pretty slick eh? Normally I’m pretty bougie. Was this the ritz? No. Was it a dive? No. Affordable. But did the job. Don’t hesitate. Click the button. You’re in. Oh yeah. Dog Friendly. For a $25/night fee, comes with a poop bag and treat per night, so that’s pretty gosh dang clutch. Heck yeah.

We had an amazing stay at this pet-friendly hotel. Room 49 was perfect, with a spacious terrace and stunning sunrise views from the second floor, some thing to keep in mind if you don’t get those Cadillac Mountain sunrise permits! The location is ideal, close to town and convenient for park access with a the park shuttle right pick up/drop off right outside. They have pet goodie bags set up when you arrive in your room and they are clear about where your pet can go on the property. The hotel offers great amenities, including indoor & outdoor pools, a piano bar, and a fantastic restaurant, The Looking Glass, with a great outdoor patio terrace and a fire pit. Maine wild blueberry pancakes and a mimosa in the sun was the perfect start to the day. The staff was attentive and friendly & chill. The business center was comfortable and bright so if you do have to do work, it won’t be miserable! The hotel rates I thought were quite reasonable, especially during high peak season in August. There were no gimmicks or extra fees. Because of the layout, I would recommend that if you arrive at night, depending where your room is located, don’t be shy to ask somebody to escort you there as the this is not a cookie-cutter run-of-the-mill layout. It's like staying at your rich friend's mansion where you can raid the fridge in your cut-offs, sprint barefoot across the lawn, explore the expansive property, then magically summon a butler when you need your cocktail dress pressed for the piano bar. The perfect blend of laid-back Maine charm and upscale comfort!
