As a loyal Marriott customer who has stayed at over 500 Marriott-branded properties, I typically avoid writing reviews until after my trip is completed. However, my current five-night stay at this hotel is such a disaster that I feel compelled to share. Just over a week ago, I stayed at this same property and would have rated it 4 stars. However, this time around, the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.||||Day 1:||In the evening, I discovered there was no hot water. When I called the front desk, I was told they were aware of the issue and that it would be resolved by morning. Morning came and… still no hot water.||||Day 2:||When I called again, I was told a company was working on it and it would take "a few more hours." After running errands, I returned to try showering again around noon. Still no hot water. This time, I spoke with the assistant manager. Her response was baffling: "Sometimes the hot water works, sometimes it doesn’t." She advised me to let the water run for 10 minutes to see if it might warm up.||||Let me get this straight — a hotel that posts signs asking guests to conserve water by reusing towels (which I do) is now telling me to waste gallons of it hoping for a miracle?||||Day 3:||By 5:30 a.m., I tried the 10-minute method. The water got barely warm enough for a quick, unpleasant shower. Later that day, I returned around 12:30 p.m. to find the hotel completely without power. Interestingly, it was the only building in the area affected.||||The power outage caused a lady and her child to get stuck in the elevator. While the fire department came to their rescue, the hotel staff’s response to this ordeal was shockingly insensitive. This led to a heated argument between the guests and front desk staff, which escalated to the point that the police had to be called. The lobby was filled with police officers, firefighters, and angry guests — a chaotic and completely avoidable scene.||||No Housekeeping:||To top it off, there has been no housekeeping service whatsoever. Despite confirming at check-in that housekeeping was provided every other day, not once have they emptied the trash, replaced towels, or provided basic cleaning.||||What Are We Paying For?||No hot water. No housekeeping. No power (in freezing weather, no less). And it's barely day three of five. What exactly is this hotel charging for? Even worse, the power outage means their systems are down, so angry guests can't check out early and escape the nightmare by going to a different hotel.||||Marriott Needs to Act:||This stay ranks as the absolute worst out of the 500+ Marriott-branded hotels I've visited. There have been some bad experiences over the years, but this one takes the crown. Marriott typically sets high standards for their properties, but this hotel is tarnishing the brand’s reputation. I strongly recommend Marriott corporate step in to reevaluate this property and ensure it meets the basic expectations of their loyal customers. Until that happens, I would avoid this location...

Read moreI have stayed at this Fairfield Inn many times while visiting relatives in the area and up until now been impressed with the quality of the property and customer service. Not this time. It appeared that the hotel was severely understaffed or the staff lacked the skilll to do their jobs properly. The first problem we encountered was quickly rectified, but things went downhill from there. The heat was not working in the first room we were given but we were promptly given another room by a courteous desk clerk, once she was finished dealing simultaneously with the guest in front of her and another one on the phone. I noticed a sign in a cracked acrylic holder that there would be no housekeeping on Thanksgiving, which struck me as odd for a service industry. I have never encountered another hotel that declined to offer housekeeping service to guests. As promised, the room was not touched on Thursday. Friday the bed was made and the tip was picked up, but the bathroom was not touched. A large pile of towels was left in the hall in front of the electrical closet door across from our room. I went back down to the desk to get toilet paper and complained. Saturday morning I wrote a list of what was needed in the room and left it at the desk. Breakfast supplies and food were getting sparse. As I left our floor, I noticed a housekeeper on her cell phone, having a personal chat. That day nothing was done in our room at all. When we got back at the end of the day I had to troop back down to the desk for soap, kleenex and shampoo. The desk clerk told me this was her first day on the job at this site, and didn't know if there was a strike going on.
Monday morning we got up early for the 9 hour drive home and got to the breakfast room at 6:30 to find no food except waffles and toast, no tea and no cups. A disgruntled worker told us that the problem was that no one wanted to do their job and a manager was supposed to come in and handle breakfast. We went back to our room to pack and research other places to get breakfast in the area. By the time we had the car packed, someone had come up with eggs and I found a tea bag in my purse, so we ate and ran.
There are a lot of other choices in the are. I tend to favor this property because it is new and well designed but it's time to improve the service and fix whatever...
