Edit 2since the owner now wants to reply again a year later: i never said prices weren't posted, but I don't expect to pay a premium price for sub par coffee or food. Funny that the tone has completely changed around from personal insults and laughing to "we won't tolerate personal attacks" or whatever was said in the reply. Good try. I have the screen shot from the original reply from the "owner" that threw personal attacks on my original HONEST review, just like he did with anyone else who left an honest review that wasn't 5 stars. If the owners changed, then that's what you should say, not try to gaslight people into thinking that the replies to reviews were done professionally to begin with. Absolute trash. Edit: I'm changing my review to 1 star for the "owner" that is obviously a little man child. As a small business owner myself in a small town, I DO know what CODB is, and I also know how to actually run a business. Your coffee is absolutely sub par. You rely on syrups to make up for the lack of coffee taste, and hope for customers that prefer sugary syrup over coffee. I don't like sweet coffee, nor do I frequent Starbucks, as you said in a reply to someone else. I visit small coffee shops only, and yes, I do LOVE my local small coffee shop. They serve actual coffee, not syrup. They also have phenomenal customer service, which after reading your reply, can see you don't prioritize. I will continue to visit small coffee shops when we travel as most are amazing, and have great staff. But no worries, we will never spend another penny at your establishment. You didn't have to tell us not to come back. It wasn't going to happen anyway.
I was excited to try this place while on a mini getaway. It's less than average, at best. There are no prices on the menu, which is pretty annoying. I ended up paying $8 for a medium sized sub par coffee, which had I known the prices before hand, I never would have ordered it. I ordered a kolache, which was the highlight of the trip. It was good, but they asked me if I wanted it warmed up, and I said yes. I guess they forgot, so I just ate it cold because everything they did took a lot of time, it was impossible to get anyone's attention, and I didn't feel like waiting another 10-15 minutes. My son ordered a macaroon and loved it. We wanted to sit and enjoy our food and drinks, but there were only 3 or 4 tables, so we ended up taking them to-go. I wouldn't come here again unless it was the only coffee shop open. 2 medium coffees, a kolache and...
Read moreI have to share my experience in hopes it can be corrected so others are not treated the same. My husband and I were driving through Brenham and decided to stop and get cookies. Luckily, this small town small business coffee shop was open on Sunday 12/17 and had cookies readily available in their pastry case. After waiting for this father of two daughters to order their coffees, a young lady asked me wait one minute. No problem. Another young lady was making another gentleman's coffee and was also busy. Now that I was next, the first young lady came back and asked me what I would like (mind you, there is no smile, no excitement, nor happiness and nor friendly communication). I asked for, "1 marshmallow cookie, snickerdoodle, and chocolate chip cookie; all warmed up please." She said okay, and I paid. I walk over to the tables to wait, and the young lady who took my order immediately starts to work on the father's order of 3 coffees who she took prior to me. No problem. Then, a lady walks in and another older man behind her waiting to order. I decide to take a look at the items for sale up the steps to use my spare time waiting. Not sure why my cookies weren't placed in the warmers, but I am still waiting. After 3-5 minutes of browsing, I walk back down to the coffee counter assuming my cookies would packed up and ready. NOPE! I looked in the pastry case, and the same amount of cookies were there, none were missing. I looked around, and the father and his 2 daughters had their coffees, someone was being helped with ice cream, and the young lady who took my order is making the lady's coffee who ordered behind me. At this point, I am upset. It takes 30 seconds to pull out my cookies, and 30 seconds to warm them up. Now, my husband walks inside asking me, "what is taking so long, it's been 10 minutes?" So the lady behind me that ordered, leaves with her coffee, and the young lady who took my order then proceeds to take the older gentleman's order. I explained to my husband what was going on. And he walks up to the counter to ask the specific young lady "how long does it take to get 3 cookies?" So now, we look like we are inconsiderate and inpatient customers, but in actual honesty, we have been waiting for going 15 minutes for 3 cookies. Never have I experienced this in a small business, and I hope this will improve. Cookies: delicious and...

Parking could be tricky
Beautiful Spot- lively feeling - bright big windows
Sort of a retro vibe as far a coffee station goes(which was a little bland)- barista was nice but not personable (which is what I always look for in a business - especially if they want me to return)She was just professional in a minimal way- which I always think is lame(especially looking at me you should know I don't need the facade and you should just be geniune with me or everyone for that matter unless your slammed and you can't give everyone your time)
I got a Mescalito Mocha - hot medium
I was a little disappointed with the coffee especially since the place was nice- the merch was on point- especially with the in house made flavored simple syrups
My coffee wasn't very hot- and just tasted a little watered down
And the mescalito bags of coffee look amazing- great branding
The have blue bell ice cream you can get by the scoop but hey - it's Brenham Texas - where can't you get Blue Bell- probly could have skipped over that
Then you walk further in and there is a dope little clothes store called like Bird Dog or something - actually pretty dope clothes and hats
Also a Hat Maker there on sight set up in the corner making hats- which was my favorite part of the experience
All in all it was a cool unique spot
I would recommend: 1- working on customer service 2- revamp your house coffee lattes 3- carry a different local artist on the walls each month 4- book solo musicians to come play 5- Maybe something that explains your beans origin and process- that people can read on the wall or something- that's reps you
Just a few of top of my head- would increase your customer volume by 30% as well
I will return atleast one more time to try a different drink- and see what my experience is like next time
This place is def worth stopping in though- cool space- cool idea
Experience it for your self as always
Enjoy-...
