Brenham & Washington County Texas Visitor Center — Attraction in Brenham

Such a beautiful place in the spring when all the flowers are in bloom. We went to Brenham, the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. We toured the facility and got ice cream of course. It's our favorite and the place was packed. So much fun for both adults and kids. The home made vanilla is the favorite of many people because it really does taste like homemade ice cream. All of their flavors are incredible also, always with real natural ingredients. Amazing how they always get it perfect. It might be a little more expensive than the others, but it is worth the extra cost because you get what you pay for. A quality product that takes time and care to get it right. One caution. I passed through this town and saw the mural “Brenham”; it was so colorful and well done, and I loved the butterflies so much that I double back to take a picture. Little did I know once I started walking block to block to block that I would see even more beautiful murals. I really like the one with two owls, it looks like a mama owl and a baby owl. I loved the garden; it was right in the middle of the historic downtown. The flowers were so beautiful. I really enjoyed this walk. We stopped by the visitor's center on the afternoon of March 19th to ask about the best places to see blue bonnets. I'll have to say that we were all amazed that the woman behind the desk was ever given this job. I won't go so far as to say she was rude but close. She acted like we were bothering her and then gave us bad information. She told us that the blue bonnets weren't in bloom and that there really weren't any around any more.
