Mermaid's Muse Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Brookings

What a find! A Christmas gift from my husband for a mother-daughter getaway. The innkeepers John and Nancy were fun to chat with and respectful of our quiet time. The views of the ocean are amazing, the decor in the house was comfortable and inviting. The rooms are spacious and cozy at the same time. The breakfasts were delightful and timed to our preference. Quiet neighborhood and the private hot tub and view was an added plus! Our own bathroom was also nice to have. Walked to town a couple times for window shopping, eating and a movie. Already have another visit scheduled! So yes, we highly recommend! UPDATE DURING 3rd visit here! Definitely a location that has become special to us. First visit with daughter, second visit with dear friend and this visit with my hubby, finally. It is a unique experience in this home filled with collectibles and art. Stayed one night during road trip up west coast of USA. Mermaids Muse is set in a residential area on the cliff edge overlooking the bay and entrance to Brookings Harbour. We stayed in the Captains Quarters which is a huge first room with French doors to a balcony overlooking the sea with the shower/bathroom being equally large. The room has the biggest bed I have every seen which is equipped with little steeps either side so you can climb up and furnished with Chinese style bed linen. The room also has access to a hot tub on a lower terrace, although we didn't use this during our overnight stay.||John provides a bar from which you can help yourselves to a drink; we had red wine. The property is furnished with an eclectic mix of art including numerous "Mermaid pieces". John and Nancy are great to talk to and provided some useful hints for our journey to make the most of the area. their large dog is very friendly and sociable.||We don't eat a huge breakfast so had granola and delicious fruit home...

What a find this place is! I'll be honest, it was the hot tub with a view that drew us to Mermaid's Muse but it turned out to be so much more! We also enjoyed the comfy adjustable bed with massage function, faux fireplace heater, refrigerator, and smart TV for when we wanted to stay in. || John and Nancy were more than happy advise us on restaurants and local attractions though I had done exhaustive research on them already so we were good to go. We couldn't have asked for better hosts!|| Due to Covid we couldn't gather for breakfast but they were happy to leave fresh coffee, scones (sooooooo good!), and prepared eggs from their chickens.
