If you prefer a contactless check-in experience with minimal interaction, this motel may suit your preferences. Upon entering, I greeted the man at the desk and was met with a curt series of questions: “Need to see an ID.” “Any pets? … Any pets?” “Do you need more than one key?” That was the entirety of my check-in. There was no welcome or explanation—just a laminated map to guide me to my room. Room 103: The only functional outlet in the main area was located behind the TV. To charge my phone, I had to unplug the television, coffee maker, and mini-fridge. When I reported the issue to the front desk, I was offered an extension cord and told maintenance would be informed. (This never occurred during our stay). The second room had no remote for the TV. When I asked the front desk, I was told, “You should have everything you need.” After double-checking the room, I returned to request it again and was finally provided with one. Unfortunately, once the remote was synced, the main room’s TV began reacting to signals from other rooms—turning on, off, and changing channels on its own. After five separate trips to the front desk within the first 30 minutes, I gave up. I unplugged the TV and dragged the extension cord from the microwave over to the bed so I could charge my phone and use it as an alarm. There is no air conditioning, which normally wouldn’t be an issue, except the motel is directly on a busy highway, and keeping the windows open meant constant traffic noise throughout the night. There was also no hairdryer available—a basic amenity at most accommodations. Additional concerns: flat, minimal pillows; very little water pressure in the shower; stiff, scratchy towels and linens. While they’ve updated the flooring, the rest of the furnishings appear unchanged and quite dated. Curtains hanging off the rod, exposed wires, dirty box springs and walls. The attempt to market this place as a “cool” or “hipster” motel falls flat. If the price point was $50–75 per night, some of these inconveniences might be forgivable. But for the rate we paid, the experience did not meet expectations. If you simply need a place to rest for a few hours, this might suffice. But for a weekend getaway or, as in our case, lodging during a sports tournament—hard pass.

Very cozy looking on the outside but rooms need to be deep cleaned. Like with steam and bleach. Ceiling fan needs to be cleaned after every visit, who wants to fling around everyone elses dust and stuff? Dusty window ledges, cords, light bulbs and even the walls need to be wiped down. Fyi: Dust =dead skin from other people and dirt. Freezer in fridge was almost totally blocked with ice. It smelled heavy of cleaning products but did not feel clean. The back story of the place did not instill a strong sense of security, even missing a smoke detector in one of the rooms of the mini 'suite'. There was someones hair in one of the blankets and the sheets, towels and shower curtain had stains. The hair dryer needs to be cleaned but should be replaced. The inside of the shower made me want to wear my flip flops and the shower head stuck out so far in the tiny space that I had to almost lean against the shower wall. Also wore shoes the entire time so my feet didn't touch the carpet. Overall, we stayed because we paid in advance, but will not be back without a complete remodel. Be careful when you are on a budget. Update upon response: pics were taken upon walking in the room first day, but way to go trying to blame your customer instead of owning up to your own negligence and making it right for the next guests.

Truly an epic fail, the owner blatantly lied. Easy to find, happy we had a full bed just like home but we were not prepared for the smell or the tiny size of the room. The fan over the bed turned on to try for fresh air sounded horrid. When I could not hang my clothes on the closet bar while my suitcase was on the stand, and my things would have to be on the floor, the only space to place them was in front of the baseboard heater, I had just had it. I found another fantastic place to stay with ease. We asked for our money back, and receivrd only one night. I went back to ask the owner to reconsider refunding both nights because if the dog smell, he said dogs were never allowed in room 104. I proceeded to show him the photo I posted here, he lied again to my face. If paying our lawyer to get a $79 refund was worth it, I would. Avoid this place at all costs. P.S. it is for sale. Wonder why.

Came into town for a photo session and decided to stay the night at Wild River Motorlodge. At first glance everything looks great. The front desk clerk was friendly and quick with her service. And the rooms were spacious and even came with a fridge and microwave which was nice. I had my service animal with me so I had to get a pet friendly room. Upon opening the door, I could see clumps of pet hair, even in the sink and shower. After cleaning the hair best I could, I noticed the floors were filthy dirty and shower didn’t come with a curtain which made it difficult not to get water everywhere when we showered. The worst part for me, however, was the bed and how uncomfortable it was for me and my pregnant girl. I know it’s not the Ritz, and just wanting a place to lay our heads, but it was very firm and we tossed and turned all night and didn’t get a proper rest... pillows were flat too. The company claims a non-smoking property but all I saw and smelt last night and this morning was cigarette smoke outside which further ruined my experience. No access to ice after 9pm and TV is the size of the microwave which was fine. Again, I know it’s a budget hotel so not perfect, didn’t come to watch TV, but for those that expect a high quality of cleanliness, and high expectations…this place may not be for you. Overall, good location, price, service, and sized rooms but not properly cleaned, bed and pillows were rough and subpar. Oh and be careful with the hot water, it’s scolding hot and will burn you if not careful. Thanks for the stay, maybe next time...
