Semi Aquatic Gallery — Attraction in Brookings

This was our favorite art gallery in town. His paintings are mostly of natural scenes of the area, and they are what I would call photo realistic but with added visual elements. I don’t have an art vocabulary, so I don’t know what to call it. One print we bought had shapes that seemed transparent as though you were looking through glass with reflections in places. That’s how it seemed to me. He said that’s not what he was thinking of when he painted it, but he likes to add shapes to the scenes. I think I’m making his art sound weird. But the visual elements are not dominent. They make you keep looking, examining for details. His paintings are gorgeous.

He sells his prints on paper, canvass, and metal( I think). Some are framed, some are not. He wrapped them up for us to transport...

I love Spencer’s art. Visited the shop for the first time this weekend. Really wish I had enough to purchase the canvas pieces. It’s realism with a touch of abstract that gives an interesting take on the coastal views. Don’t know how he does it, but his art is something to get lost in. He’s got apparel that’s awesome as well. I’ve been reppin’ one of his hats for months now. If you’re around, it’s well worth it to check out his art in person. ...
