RH Pub & Grill is our family's favorite night out in Brookings. Fun, casual atmosphere with excellent, friendly staff and the food is always fantastic. Some of us bounce around the menu and try new things; others stick to their favorite every time. I'm one of those weirdos that loves pineapple on their burgers, so I pretty much get the Aloha burger every time - it's great with the veggie patty! My husband loves the American Railer, my son the fish and chips and my youngest requests the grilled salmon platter frequently. There is outdoor dining with patio heaters for those cool coastal nights. Being a pub, there are of course a few televisions throughout the establishment, all of which tend to play rodeo footage frequently. It makes for interesting dinner conversation with our gen-Z/-alpha kids. They have some very valid questions. Lol All in all, I'm so glad this place is in our community. They are consistently wonderful in service, food quality and experience....
Read moreWent to the Brookings location today while visiting the area. Arrived just after 5 on a Sunday. There were maybe 8 tables with people at them. It was a full house within an hour but this should not have affected our order. There was 4 adults and 2 kids in our party. Drinks came at different times. Had to ask for the kids' water. No utensils or napkins on tables. Service was slow and very scattered. Seemed as if the wait staff did not have assigned tables and the people next to us waited over 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge them. Food was not as good as the Gridley location no seasonings. All of our buns were greasy, fries and tots were as small as the kid portions. French dip and Philly had minimal flavor and au jus had no flavor. Probably won't go back to this location...hoping it was just an off day but spending over $120 on sandwiches and burgers that were disappointing...
Read moreBeing local, we dine here every few months. We always dine outside because it is too noisy to carry on a conversation inside The continuing problem remains that no matter who is on the grill cannot grill the burgers to a consistent degree of doneness. Yesterday, we both ordered burgers, mine rare, hers medium rare. Mine had a faint touch of pinkness near one side, hers had a medium rare spot on one side. The fries were excellent, as always, the waitstaff helpful even though staff inside cannot follow directions: she wanted an extra container of aioli on the side, replacing the red onion. The red onion was gone, the cup of aioli was on the side, but there was none on the burger (remember, this was supposed to be an exchange). The beer and wine menu seems to have not changed since Railhouse opened — I really wish they could put a red ale on the list instead of all the IPAs, but I am getting used...
