Since Google seems unable to allow a response to an owner's response of your review, I've had to edit this one. Extremely poor leadership on their part (please see owner's response). You don't lambast the customer (or try to embarrass them) when you're in the wrong. We definitely did arrive during a busy time of the day. However, 25 minutes for our coffee is insane, especially, when that's your primary business. Let's not even bring up the fact we ordered two drip coffees! I mean, I could almost understand if we ordered something special, but drip coffees!?!? How about the additional 15-25 minutes we had to wait, on top of that time, for our food to arrive!?!? Very convenient the owner doesn't bother to mention that... I will say, the food was amazing and some of the best I've had on the coast and, again, the staff was kind and friendly. It really is too bad you want to call out a customer that is venting their frustrations with your inability to deal with a rush. Bad look on your part. As mentioned, there were several other customers who were visibly frustrated with the delays. Your response is a horrible look for a business owner and, honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself. You don't know me or the person I was with. You only label us as "our type" because of your own inability to do your job efficiently. Also, you never dealt with me. I never asked for anything. My girlfriend was the one who kept coming back up asking for the status of our order. Nice that you assume and try to generalize me "it would be a Chad". In life, you need to learn from the negatives, not try to justify your mistakes. Instead of telling the customer they are in the wrong and seemingly calling us a-holes (real professional, by the way), you speak with your staff on ways you can improve your processes so these scenarios don't happen in the future. You can only end up the better for it. Good luck with your business, Karen. I hope you rethink your response and use this as an opportunity for personal growth. I can't say I have high hopes for that, given your original response, but I'll try to have faith in your ability to change for the better! You can do it!!!
PS, I'm still keeping the two stars. I'd lower it to one, but the food was really good and the staff (at least the one I spoke with (she was working the register))...
Β Β Β Read moreAfter reading all the great reviews about this place I really had to come here. I was not impressed with their food at all! I bought a chocolate croissant and it was so dried out I could barely choke it down. Day old perhaps? The place is really clean and cute but they don't put any prices for their pastries or their daily specials. Why don't you list the prices on your board? A little deceiving i think. Also, I ordered the French toast and it was the thinnest bread and burnt. Come on chef, you burn the French toast?! It was $8 for a tiny portion and not tasty at all. The only good thing was their iced Mexi mocha, that actually tasted good. My final answer...overpriced food, underwhelming and not that good of food for the prices. Go somewhere else.
Edit- since I can't reply to the owners review....yes, I did eat it all on my plate despite the poor quality and dried out pastry. After all, we paid a pretty penny for bland food and no, I wasn't going to complain to a manager and get more bland food, whats the point. I was hungry lol. I want people to know there are much cheaper better restaurants for breakfast in the area that don't have dried out pastries and list their prices. Lol my personal favorite for donuts and pastries is Honeybee Bakery up the road, their pastries are fresh and yummy for days after. Sorry, but you missed the mark for me and by not listing your prices on the board or for pastries is just "tricking" people into buying them. I still don't have a clue how much my croissant was LOL, I thought maybe $2 but I bet it was much higher after spending $45 for a tiny plate of French toast, a dried out croissant, 2 coffees and a breakfast burrito. Rip off! Guess I'm not in Texas anymore π not Texas size plates...
Β Β Β Read moreDining room was cramped especially during brunch rush. The line to order, those waiting to pick up their order were also cramped as there is very little room for those waiting to pick up their order and even less room for those ordering or waiting to order. The only place to order is at the counter and there are no menus to view if you are in line unless you are at the counter.
There were two people ahead of me that ordered together and because there is no menu to view ahead of time, a lot of extra time is spent at the register. When I got to the counter ready to place my order, instead of being greeted by the person at the register, I was asked if I was ordering food and if so, the wait would be 45 minutes to receive it.
Instead of ordering at that time, I joined my friend at the table she was at located in the far back corner, that did not allow the chairs to move without bumping into the wall or a chair at another table. I ended up ordering a coffee cake muffin that was described as having streusel on top. The quality of the muffin was no different than that of one that was store-bought.
My experience was beyond disappointing for all the reasons listed above, but also because I had hoped to order some their macarons I received as a gift from a friend and I wasn't able to do that during my...
