Comfort Inn & Suites Calhoun South — Hotel in Calhoun

Welp. Unfortunately we didn't have a fantastic experience.

I tried to use a coupon but was told I couldn't because "a track team is here tonight." The coupon said "subject to availability" so I asked for clarification. "So you do have the room that this coupon is advertising available but you won't honor the coupon because a track team is sleeping here tonight?" Her response: "correct." That doesn't make sense to me, but I didn't argue. I just paid full price (SIXTY dollars more than the price on the coupon).

Then this morning we went down to swim and there were no towels in the pool. So I asked for some from the front desk. The lady at the front desk just turned around and went into another room. I assumed she was going to get me towels so I just stuck around. Bad move on my part. Next thing I knew I was witness to a full-on name-calling voice-raised fight between the receptionist and a housekeeper(?). I noped out of there before things got too ugly.

So pros: the receptionist did eventually bring me towels and apologized for the delay. And the pool was nice and warm and we had it to ourselves both times we visited which was nice.

Cons: professionalism...

There was about 5 hotels close to this but I chose this as the pictures looks like it’s more up to date and it was more expensive but I was ok with it…. Rooms are half up to date and half old. Bed is so uncomfortable. There is so many wall outlet in the bathroom makes no sense. Shower head not even covered into the wall. And shower didn’t even work. Didn’t know til I woke up and was trying to shower . Tried to push the lever up but it broke off. Couldn’t take a bath as there’s no cover for the drain so I had to wet rag wash. Told front desk as I only stayed one night and she said oh no sorry , I can give you $10 credit … I said what is that going to do? I can’t even wash my body. She just looked at me confused … finally had to talk to someone else and gave me 20%off my stay but I was just dumbfounded…. I don’t drink coffee to wake up. I take showers and was going to be on the road all day and not be able to shower again until late that same night. For what they charge at that location… they need to do alot more updating as what they charged doesn’t make it worth it at all...

The room has mold, the ceiling was leaking so when we would use the toilet water would drip on you, the shower rod was broke off the wall, bugs visible in the room saw atleast 3 different types of bugs. When we went to get a new room the clerk at the front desk was nasty and racist. She Said she couldn't help us cause she had no other rooms and that we should just leave. She treated us like trash I payed $275 for two nights. When I asked her why she had an attitude she said she was going to call the cops on me because I was being rude. So I asked to speak to the manager she said they were not there and she refused to call them. Then proceeded to call the police on me. The cops ended up saying nothing was wrong and the other front desk girl got us a 20% discount. Which wasn't even enough for the embarrassment she put on my family and the nasty room that should never be given to anyone at any price let alone for 160 a night because breathing in visible mold is unsafe. The health department should do something about this. I have been in shotty sketch hotels...
