First I have to say I NEVER do reviews unless I have a complaint! This is my FIRST positive review ever! We pulled off the interstate to eat dinner and decided to stay at the same exit. I was reading the reviews on the hotels in the area. Home2 had wonderful reviews and was right beside the Cracker Barrel we were eating at. I called and the Lady that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful, she confirmed she had 2 King rooms available, although they were not connecting she made sure we had rooms beside each other. The check in process was quick and smooth. The parking lot was well lit and felt safe. The entry to the hotel was warm and welcoming. Elevators were clean and everything smelled nice and fresh. ( it was only 3 months old) We made our way to our rooms and WOW it was SO much more than we expected. The room was open and spacious as well as very clean. The bathroom had a very nice spacious shower. I was impressed that the faucet was opposite the shower head so you could turn on the water without gettin wet.(Someone was brilliant with that design). There was a nice kitchenette area with a full size fridge and dishwasher! a very nice comfortable sitting area. The couch and footrest was very cozy! I have saved the best for last: The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were amazing although we had our own with us and the bed linens it was like being in my own bed. I have never stayed in a hotel that has had better sheets, these were like the sheets on my bed at home! (we are very particular about our sheets)! The room darkening shade kept out all the light which was perfect! Breakfast the next morning was also good! There was plenty to choose from and everything was fresh and the area was very clean. The lady working the food area (Suzy I believe) was very helpful and polite when we asked for things we could not find or things that was running low. The girls at the counter when we checked out was friendly and helpful! The experience from check-in to check-out was wonderful! My only negative thing I can say is we wished the parking lot from the hotel to Cracker Barrel was connected for convenience reasons! If that's the only negative thing I can come up with you guys knocked it out of the park! Thank you for a wonderful stay! If we pass through the area again we will be sure to return ! Thank you to all the helpful staff that worked the night of January 27 and morning...
Read moreI had a reservation ( Hilton Honors member with a res #) but when I arrived Madonna at the hotel front desk advised me that my reservation had been cancelled because they had tried to precharge my card prior to my arrival but found my card was “fraudulent”. I asked them to try again (I was traveling with my mom who is 89 and we had driven over ten hours and really needed a room) but she said no because the hotel was now full and no rooms available. I called Chase bank right there and was told my card was active and valid. They also said there had been no suspicious activity or attempted charges on my card that day. Madonna’s “ too bad…I don’t care “ attitude didn’t help at all. It took an hour but I found another hotel close by (Marriott property) and stayed there. I got an email later from Hilton which said I had cancelled the reservation myself and because it was less than 24 hrs from checkin I might incur penalty charges. Several emails with Celeste ( the hotel manager) only resulted in the story changing again. I called the Hilton national customer service number. It turns out what really happened was that someone else had called the hotel directly trying to make a late cancellation but Madonna pulled the wrong reservation up and cancelled mine instead. Then, instead of being honest and acknowledging the mistake ( and maybe trying to get me a reservation at another Hilton hotel) they lied and blamed it on my credit card. Despite the false credit card claim they then went and generated an automated email saying that I had cancelled myself and might incur penalty charges. What a great bunch of people running this place right? Caught in a web of lies. Anyway, fortunately I found another room. I will not, and would not recommend to anyone, to stay at this Home2 in Calhoun. I am now considering staying at Marriotts as my...
Read moreWe stayed at the Calhoun location for one night. After a long drive from South Florida, we decided to stop for the night. My husband checked us in and told the clerk we had our service dog with us. I had taken off her vest due to the extreme heat, so she did not have it one when we walked in the hotel but it was with me in my bag. Unfortunately, she must not have heard my husband say "service dog" and handed him a bunch of papers with small fine print to sign. He signed without reading all of the "fine print" of which must have outlined the fee. We are Hilton Diamond members, so we have stayed at many Hilton hotels and have clearly spent a lot of money with Hilton. We have NEVER had this issue before. A few days later, we noticed the $75.00 fee charged to our credit card. We called the hotel clerk and explained the situation. She looked up our information and stated she was the clerk that checked us in. All she would say was, "well you signed the paperwork"! She was extremely rude and refused to waive the $75.00 fee, even after we told her the dog was a service dog. We even emailed her our service dog paperwork, as proof. She would not share the managers name when we asked for it and has now not responded to multiple emails about the charge, nor did she respond about the service dog paperwork I sent her. I'm extremely disappointed to have to resort to writing a bad review, but they have left me no choice. I'm not sure where to turn next, but maybe Corporate???? If you have service dogs or regular dogs, beware of this hotel! This is the first review I have ever initiated, so this should show you how...
