Oh man, I was 100% pleasantly surprised.
I was traveling Louisville to Atlanta for the next leg of my work trip, I knew i wouldnt make it to Atlanta, but didnt think to stay further north. I hit a truck stop for a snack at the next exit down, let my dog out for a run, then checked the Choice Hotels app for options. This hotel was a pretty cheap price, had rooms, and was only about a mile back up the road. However, I could not book via the app since it was after midnight. I drove up there, they matched the price in the app for the room, checked in quickly with a friendly overnight clerk, only brought the essentials inside, and fell fast asleep.
Cannot comment about breakfast choices, since i set my alarm for 45 minutes before checkout, woke up, took a quick shower and hit the road.
I CAN comment on the rooms. Paint was in great shape, contemporary dark colors that are the trend, bed dressings were white with patterns, also the current trend. That tells me that it was obviously recently updated. Bathroom was large, nicely equipped, bright, separate lights above the sink and toilet/shower sections. Good water pressure, my shower had both a fixed and handheld nozzle which was nice. Soap was not the cheap generic stuff i'm used to from lower end brands, smelled nice. Both the soap and shampoo were tiny portions, but there was two of each and that was fine. Room had fridge, microwave, desk and table, plenty of outlets, chair and a single bed. AND THE BED. I dont know if they got an amazing deal on these or what, but the BEDS were the most comfortable ones i've had in a hotel in a long time. Supportive mattress, pillow top, and FIVE high quality foam type pillows which was an amazing surprise. I slept so well in this hotel, I was super impressed, and am writing this review specifically because the beds were so great.
I kind of regret this little town is so far away from where i'm staging for the next week of my work trip, because if I could stay here for the next five days, i would have been super happy. If I end up in this area again, i'll be sure...
Read moreFrom the outside, this hotel may not look like much, but in reality that is furthest from the truth. The rooms have been completely remodeled and are roomy, well apportioned, quiet and comfortable. The beds are extremely comfortable and there is more than enough storage. The refrigerator is larger than I've seen in most hotels and actually has a usable freezer section. The air conditioner/heater was quiet and easy to operate. I loved the big flat screen TV on the wall (I could even see the TV from the bathroom). I especially liked the shade on the front window rather than curtains. I feel it afforded more privacy to the room. The bathroom is to die for! Large enough to accommodate a handicapped person and very attractively remodeled. The tub is very roomy yet low enough to enter easily with assist rails all around, not just one side. The bottom of the tub is completely coated with slip-resistant coating. There are two shower heads - one stationary and one handheld. The hot breakfast is your standard Choice Hotel fare. The price was very affordable and the evening clerk, Angie, was very friendly and efficient. There is also an outside pool. The only downsize I could find was the lobby and breakfast areas were small, but to me that is minor. We will definitely be stopping at this hotel each time we...
Read moreStopped here on our way from Michigan to Florida. We arrived there around 9pm and checked in. The night staff was friendly, and checked us in quickly. Once we got to the rooms, I walked around checking them out, and they were surprisingly nice for the price. I read other reviews staying they were nice, but I was expecting something more along the lines of a "Motel 6" type place, but I was definitely pleased by what I experienced. The rooms were nicely decorated, with a gray color scheme. They looked very modern, and felt a lot more upscale for the price. They were very clean. The only "complaint" I had was that the sheets were really static-y. Lol! The beds were pretty comfortable, and there was a mini refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board, and a built in hair dryer. They had free continental breakfast, too, and it was a lot more than most continental breakfasts I've had. They had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, diced potatoes, fresh waffles, an assortment of cereals, bread and bagels, and yogurts. Most places I've been usually have cereal and other cold foods. This was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this location if you're in the area and need a fairly priced...
