Misleading Listing – Location Is NOT in Carolina as Advertised
I booked this property through American Express Travel, which listed it as being in Carolina, Puerto Rico. However, the property is located in LoĂza, over 40 minutes away from where it was advertised. This misrepresentation completely disrupted my travel plans.
I only received the true location after it was too late to cancel or make other arrangements. The host provided a Google Maps link that took us to a completely different area—not Carolina as promised. When I reached out to the host multiple times on the day of check-in for clarification and to resolve the issue, I was ignored.
This was not just a minor misunderstanding—it was a deliberate bait-and-switch that left my family without the lodging we expected and paid for. I had to open a dispute with American Express and escalate the matter as a fraudulent transaction.
I would strongly suggest that others be careful and confirm exact locations directly with the host before booking. This kind of deceptive behavior ruins vacations and should not be tolerated on...

I paid $9K USD for 9 nights and a family of 7, including my 81 year old mother in law whose birthday we went to celebrate, only to be met with a place that I didn't book and to be asked to pay more money for some place called Aquatika that was run down and nasty.
Expedia is refusing to refund me until they speak to the landlord who is a scammer. What a total joke. There is no law protecting people like us who continue to be at risk because no one cares. I hope someone with a legal background will take this case and get this scammer to pay for...
