I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unforgettable omakase dinner, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I sat down, the attention to detail was impeccable, with every element of the meal thoughtfully curated. The chef guided us through a masterful journey of flavors, showcasing the freshest ingredients of the season with precision and artistry.
Each course was a revelation, from delicate cuts of sashimi that melted in my mouth to sushi creations that were both simple and complex, highlighting the natural beauty of the fish. The balance of flavors was perfect, with each bite offering a new sensation, whether it was the richness of uni, the subtle sweetness of toro, or the umami-packed broth that concluded the meal.
The pacing was flawless, with the chef explaining each dish and its inspiration, making the experience not only delicious but also educational. The intimate setting, personalized service, and expertly crafted menu made for a truly immersive dining experience. It was a celebration of Japanese culinary tradition, elevated by modern techniques and an evident passion for the craft.
For anyone seeking an authentic and refined omakase experience, this restaurant delivers on every level. Itâs a meal I wonât soon forget and one that Iâd highly recommend to any...
Read moreWe scheduled our reservation originally for 6pm, they text us at 4pm asking if the reservation could be change for 7:15pm. We arrived at 7:10pm and we werenât seated until 8pm. We had a special request, thatâs why we reserve at 6pm. During the experience the service was awful! Only the bartender was more proactive. At the end, they didnât ask if we wanted dessert or anything else. When we asked for the check, they were charging us more and wrongly, we had 2 extra Nigiris and they charged us as Hand rolls, we told them and they keep the same wrong item in the check. After the long wait for our experience, they didnât even give a complimentary drink for the wait or a coffee, itâs the details. The food was ok, too small and you still end up hungry, but good. Even that we had the 17 course experience. Not sure if I would be visiting again. Just because the service. Because the food was good and fresh. The ginger was really good and also the wasabi, very fresh both. Not encouraging to not visit. Give them a try! Hoping this was just a busy day and not...
Read moreSushi By Bou, located inside the hotel at The Fairmont El San Juan was such a delightful experience! I was able to book via opentable and secured a reservation. They are known for their no frills omakase, just pure delicious fish without anything additional. We opted for the 12 course experience that lasts around an hour and fifteen minutes.
The host who checked us in was fabulous and brought us to the waiting room where we ordered cocktails. When our seats were ready, we proceeded to sit at the bar where the sushi chef was.
Like I said, the sushi pieces have minimal garnishes and toppings. You truly get to savor each piece depending on the type of fish it is. They offer you sparkling or still water, I assumed still was tap but they charged me $8 for acqua panna (I thought it was complimentary since tap water wasnât offered). The service overall was awesome and they were always asking if I needed assistance.
Iâve been to Sushi by Bou in Manhattan, and the hospitality definitly shows in all of their locations. I had...
