Coco Mar — Hotel in Carolina

I never do a review until my vacation is over but here I am, day one, and I am completely impressed by this room and the price that I paid. I was looking for something cheap when I originally booked this room and I got everything and more. CoCo Mar has so much potential and is centrally located. There's a mini kitchen with two burners, pots and pans, sink, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, microwave, fire extinguisher, flashlight, dishes, silverware, paper products, and a dehumidifier and separate air conditioner. I am completely impressed! This room lived up to its expectations when I looked in the closet and found two folding beach chairs, an iron, blow dryer and Bluetooth speaker! Omg! I couldn't ask for more, but I wish they had cleaned and reviewed the room a little better instead of at the last minute. (I found some trash under the bed) anyways, Parking is free in a private parking lot. The keys to the gate are in the room and you have everything you need. NEVER BOOK HERE! Place SCAMMED my wife and I.

When my wife and I were in SJ for the night, we booked this place through an online booking site. We wanted a beach front view so this seemed great. Then we showed up...

The place is surrounded by a fence which had EVERY single gate locked, so we couldn't drive in, or even walk in to talk to a front desk! As we waited out in the heat we tried calling their number over, and over, and over, and over... Nothing but voicemail.

Desperate we booked elsewhere for the night. When I filed for a refund from my credit card company saying I never received service, the hotel lashed back saying they DID serve us, and accused us of attempting Credit Fraud!?!?

We're out over a hundred bucks from trying to book a single night here. They closed us out and ignored us, and heap judgement on themselves before God for their actions.

Well, what to say.. The room was very simple and dated. Not really clean. Pictures look Mut better than reality. There is a kitchen with basic equipment. The bed was horribly used, soft and uncomfortable for me. Air-conditioning works somehow, but it's really loud. Is was the only option for me as we book it for NYE on last minute. And for that it was perfect, but expensive. The big plus is the location and the ocean view (not in all rooms as there's another building in front). Literally 3 minutes walk to the beach. It's OK for overnight if you don't have big expectations. We did, unfortunately. Can't imagine to spend holidays here or...
