My review is favorable, but also frankly honest. I like it enough that I definitely plan on staying here again this year. No place is perfect unless you're paying megabucks, and I'm not even too sure about that. LOL We stayed in #302 at Seahorse Landing, renting through McCormack Rentals. The view is absolutely wonderful, and we've stayed in this unit before - 3 times now I think. It's a 5 hour drive for us, but makes a nice, relaxing 3-4 day escape. PROS - ** The view, hands down. Sunsets are glorious. ** The price on this unit is a little less than some of the other units. ** Kitchen is well equipped. ** Internet is sufficient for us to do some work if we feel like it, and good enough that we can usually do a Zoom with the family. ** Hot tub! Pool was cold in April so I didn't use it. But when I was there last summer, I'd go from the hot tub to the pool, and so forth. CONS - ** It could really use a screen door to the balcony because otherwise you'll get bugs inside if you leave it open for the fresh sea breeze. We spent a lot of time on the balcony reading, talking, using our iPads and enjoying the view at the same time. ** I couldn't get any of the deck windows open and one was actually duct-taped shut. This may not be much of a concern unless you'd rather have fresh air than air conditioning. ** Unit is a little dated, but then they all are & Cedar Key is a little dated itself. That's sort of the point of going there, right? ** Could use a new bed. It's not awful yet, but I'd say it's starting to be a problem if you have back trouble. But the twin bed I tried one night in the other bedroom was nice & firm. **No major grocery stores. Either stop in Gainsville or Chiefland and haul what food you think you need with you & just hit one of the 2 little groceries for what you forgot - or - plan on eating out a lot. Seafood place is decent. We thought one of the little restaurants was a real rip-off. Two coffees and two fake grilled cheese (bread toasted & cheese nuked in microwave) for lunch cost us $36, not counting tip, which I thought was ridiculous and it certainly didn't taste like real grilled cheese! LOL BOTTOM LINE - We like #302 in Seahorse Landing. We plan on staying in this unit again later on this year. PS - Cedar Key is an island so as far as cell phones go, T-Mobile signal is not strong and most of the time I could only make phone calls or get texts in the bedroom - not that I was on the phone more than once a day. No reception at all on the balcony. Other carriers may have a stronger signal. Our iPads & laptops worked fine with the internet.

First of all, the maintenance man Dan was great. This place is gorgeous and very clean. Spacious with 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Large living room and kitchen. The back porch facing the water was gorgeous. Amenities also included a pool, hot tub, and dock. .6 miles away from the pier. Great place if you want some peace and quiet. Unfortunately the AC did not work when I got back to my room from eating dinner. I was easily able to contact manager. However, it could not be fixed until the next morning. It was not hot that evening, but muggy enough to sleep uncomfortably. The windows that I was able to open would not open all the way. When the AC was fixed it would not go lower than 71 degrees (I like it 68 when I sleep). For the price I paid I should be able to control the AC. Despite the drawbacks of my visit, I would return and recommend others to stay here.

Spent this past weekend here with my family and it was great!!! The condo looks exactly as posted and described (posted my own pics as well). The view is ABSOLUTELY stunning and we got the end unit which had a mini wrap around porch as well. It's spacious and clean. The only issue we had was unfortunately the mattresses are springy and we did wake up with some back pain, that would be the only thing I would suggest they update. Aside from that, it's super cute and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! And the owner Shirley was in constant contact and immediately responsive with any questions I had, even suggested a good restaurant to try and she was definitely right. Great time and will be back in the future!

The condo we stayed in had a great view and the location of the condos in general is really fantastic. The VRBO manager for the property, who I assume is Rhonda Cooke because that is who listed my customer review on VRBO, is not nice and provided VERY little information prior to our stay. Zero check in instructions. Upon arrival, I stopped by the office which no one was there so I called. They did not answer, but did call me back and when I answered she just said "What's the problem". She was really rude. I explained that I received no info about check in and the gentleman who I assume was maintenance said they usually leave the door unlocked but ours was not. She acted like I was an idiot for not just assuming the key was under the mat...? I have stayed in many Air bnb's, VRBO's, and I have never had no instructions or information about checkin/checkout. In the unit was one piece of paper which explains how to pay them upon arrival. I'd already paid. But there were no instructions about house rules or cleaning before checkout which I have also never seen in all my travels. We had a great time, we loved Cedar Key and we would definitely stay in these condos again under different management. We had 5 adults total (all in our 40's-50's so it wasn't a group of young kids or anything.) We did leave by 11am upon checkout and even though it was not requested anywhere, we stripped the beds because that is usually an ask at rental properties. We tidied up and it looked exactly like it did when we arrived, but then Rhonda gave me 4 stars on VRBO for my stay including "house rules" which there were none. So apparently she was really mad that I called her because there is not a single other thing she could possibly use as a reason to do that. When we arrived, the ice and entire freezer/fridge smelled like fish so we dumped it and cleaned it out. I never would have complained about that had she not been so rude and then given me a bad review for no reason. I'd already written a review on VRBO for it and was much nicer than I would have been if I'd seen her review first. I hate leaving negative reviews and complaining and hadn't planned on it until I saw that. But Rhonda Cooke is unprofessional and it was the most disorganized stay I've had as nothing was documented except for "check in after 3 and check out by 11" on the listing itself. The company is "Nature Coast Realty", so if you see that, you're getting Rhonda. We will definitely be back to Cedar Key, this was not our first visit either and will be sure to rent from a...

It hurts a little to write this, as I adore Cedar Key, I just wish they’d give this place some love. We returned last fall for a second time to this same unit, 102, now managed by Nature Coast Realty. Upon finding out it was under new management, we were excited because we love this location but it really needs some TLC. Sadly, nothing had changed except the price that went up! They were kind enough to honor the old price since I booked 10 months ahead though. THE VIEW and THE DOCK are everything. The rest is, meh. Nice pool, encountered a few rowdy guests in the hot tub one night. Easy parking including for trailers and boats and golf carts. The condo itself, needs a lot. ||2 bedroom, 2 bath condo, pull out sofa:|-only provided 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 1 kitchen towel. When I called to inquire about more, the answer was they couldn’t get any until the next day. There were five of us. So I had to buy towels and get reimbursed|-just a handful of hangers, all metal junkers |-carpet is nasty. A good steam clean would do wonders. My kids feet were BLACK on the bottom from walking around INSIDE|-broken blinds in the living room|-nice Adirondack chairs on the deck, but wood wearing away meant splinters in legs and feet |-broken bathroom fan, makes a horrible banging noise if you try to turn it on|-kitchen utensils are hit and miss. If you know you need something specific for cooking, bring it with you|-WiFi was decent, but very few TV channels|-ceiling fan in the dining area was broken and missing a part. When we called they said “just don’t use it.” It’s the beach! |-furniture stained and dirty looking — just needs new stuff in there or to ge well cleaned |-a/c worked well and always had plenty of hot water |-fridge and washer/dryer both worked great||PLEASE fix up this unit. We do love this place but it’s becoming hard to stomach when visiting with our...
