We had a wonderful time here. We rented number eight which was absolutely adorable and cleaner than any room we've ever rented. It was just a beautiful little room. The shower was bigger than mine at home. lol We took full advantage of outside. There was a swing directly across from our room which we used more than once and in the evenings we were going out to the swings facing the water. Had a fantastic last evening out there. We found a live turtle among all the statuary and he turned out to be friendly. We love real turtles. Then we found the marker for their mascot kitty, Turtle. We thought that was terribly sweet. We met their new kitty but she was not impressed by us. lol. It was a great experience between Faraway Inn and Cedar Key itself. We're already going to go home and figure out best dates and put in a reservation for here again in the coming year. We also rented a golf cart from them and boy we saw every bit of the island on it. That was so much fun. We didn't kayak. We brought our life vest and our own paddles but discovered the water was a bit too choppy for us. We really wanted to kayak over to the island directly across from the Inn but we decided better safe than sorry. We're not that young anymore. Oh, and my husband will be very upset if I do not mention the hundreds of butterflies around our room. He was completely fascinated by all the butterflies. Thank you, Faraway Inn.

Efficiency Room #6: The owner, Amy, personally interacted with me twice before check-in which I found to be very personable service. She also offered early check-in, free of charge which was appreciated and wish I could have taken advantage of. Code was texted for keyless entry after hours. I was pleasantly surprised how extremely clean and well stocked my accommodations were for a standard room. Everything a person could possibly need for a short stay was in the room: toiletries, dishes, silverware, dish towels, etc. Grounds were very well kept and photograph worthy. The pavilion with porch swings and tables was amazing and had excellent view of the Gulf sunset. I did not use the bicycles, kayaks, or golf carts but plan to on my next visit. This was my first time visiting Cedar Key and feel no need to look at other places. I will most definitely be returning and have recommended to family and friends.

Very clean cozy and comfortable. Stayed in Cottage 1 a few nights then moved to Cottage 2 for an extra night. Everything I could want was in the Cottage. Pet friendly with lots of doggy clean up waste bag stations all around the property. A small lovely beach to enjoy. The property had lots of interesting nooks and crannies with outdoor murals of Cedar Keys rich history. Beautiful gardens even in winter. The staff was very helpful and kind. A nice covered pavilion with swings, tables and chairs. Games and books in the office. Kayaks and bikes for guests. An all around great place to vacation.

Highlight: No weight/breed restrictions! Loveliest phrase in any language for a family with a 96 pound 1 year old pup. There were even treats and special towels waiting for us when we got there.

Location: Right on the water, although I would not recommend swimming at that particular spot due to the oyster beds, but a great place to enjoy the sunset and breathe in the salty sea air!

Accommodations: Toilet paper folded to a point, small vase of flowers from the garden, mini soaps and shampoos, everything spotless! Bed is firm, but comfortable. Bringing my own pillows next time as these were quite flat. The only real complaint I have is that the WiFi would not stay connected and the internet was spotty. We came to disconnect anyway, but as our cell service dropped here (thank you AT&T) we could have been able to make calls with WiFi calling. It did make it a little difficult to connect to local places for dining and availability.

Property: Beauuuuuutiful garden and flowers everywhere! We even enjoyed bananas that were growing under the window outside of room 9. On the way out I noticed an herb garden, so next time we will ask if we can utilize those. Doggie clean up bags/stations everywhere! The covered pavilion has 4 porch swings facing the water. That was my favorite place! My daughter and I would swing every night before I put her to bed.

Extras: Golf carts are available for rent and it is WELL worth it! Especially if you are stay for a few days. There were several occasions where our family would split and it was so convenient to hop on the golf cart and cruise the island. Kayaks, canoes, and bikes are free to use. We did not get to them though. Our littlest one is just not there yet. They have a HUGE library of DVDs and in hind sight I wish I had grabbed some when we discovered that the internet was not going to work. We came prepared with our Roku and Switch for the kids, but no internet means no use for those devices.

Staff: Shely and Shannon were constantly hard at work, but always available to help us! Special thanks to Shely who instantly bonded with our toddler (who is slow or no warm...

My boyfriend and have visited twice to Cider Key..First time was right after covid...lucky for us had a friend just outside of town that had a house they rented out for the weekend so stayed there..and fell in love with the town...we return this past weekend and tried to get a room but every place we stopped or called was booked...we were just about to pull out of the island when my boyfriend saw a vacancy sign...so we pulled in...the lady running it said she had just put the sign out hr before...we said we would take it before we saw the room cause we were desperate..the best stop we ever made!!! Not only did we get great military discount but discount for paying cash as well...and the room was so cute..with full bathroom and kitchen which we are not used to going out of town..so it was so nice to save money cooking in instead of eating out..oh forgot to say we cooked out on grill that is provided on the grounds...as well as canoes .kayak..bicycles. .and golf carts...free with stay...and the beautiful garden that surrounds the inside padio area...not to mention the most beautiful view of the water and sunset with chairs and wooden swings to watch it from..when we do return again..which we will..l will always stay here!!! This place and the staff were more amazing that l can ever say!! I so look forward to our return!!!! If l could give more than 5 star...
