Where to start? We spent a long weekend with three nights at the end of April. Molly's Inn was fabulous. Each morning there was a delicious breakfast, preceded by a generous coffee hour. Our breakfast each day included yogurt and fruit, eggs (benedict) or French toast, croissants and muffins with delicious coffee from a bottomless pot. It fueled terrific days of sightseeing.|On Friday night, we had wine and cheese on Molly’s upper deck with a view of Chincoteague Bay. Dinner at AJ's on the Creek was highly recommended and we all loved it. Saturday Cindy Faith led the spirited "Step Through Time" Walking Tour of historical downtown Chincoteague. The story of the island in all its glory was comprehensive with many many anecdotes about the people, places and events. She knows all and tells as much as she can fit into an hour or hour and a half. Very entertaining and informative. Pico's for great Mexican fare was open for indoor and outdoor lunch which we relished before driving the wildlife loop for a chance to see the famed ponies of Chincoteague from a distance. It was an invigorating walk. led by Miss Molly's own Renata and Dave. Then we dined that evening at Channel Bass Inn where we were ordered a 4 course leisurely meal in a quiet & quaint atmosphere. Did I say delicious? And the service was first rate. On Sunday after coffee and breakfast, we took a beach walk, climbed to the beautiful historic lighthouse, and had a marvelous boat tour of Assateague Island with Captain Casey to see the ponies closer up. We saw several bands of ponies at various locations, with cameras a-clicking. These images are indelible and post-trip it's easy to conjure them up going through your fotos. As if there wasn''t enough, we had dinner at another fabulous restaurant Bill's Prime. My favorite course was the shrimp and scallops pasta. We all enjoyed the hospitality of Renata and Dave at Molly's and recommend it to all for a fun-filled time-out from the hustle and bustle of most of our everyday lives. Go. Enjoy. Pass on the...
Read moreRenata & Dave, the owners, were fantastic and so accommodating and flexible. They welcomed us as we arrived and it made us feel comfortable and at home right away. The Inn has been beautifully kept with themed and historical art work. Of which, can be experienced on your own accord just a few miles away by visiting the areas where those very ponies are cited. Breakfast each morning was especially delicious and served in a beautiful dining room. Meals were elegantly prepared and plated, almost too pretty to eat. This made it very welcoming to join other guests in the morning and enjoy delightful conversation. The warmth of the fireplace of the dining room matched the richness and warmth and graciousness of the hosts and innkeepers. Pride of ownership can be seen throughout the home and the property. The owners are wonderful historians and gave very interesting and engaging insight into the very woman whom one of the rooms are named after, a famous author, Marguerite Henry. We stayed in her namesake room, which was beautifully appointed with relics of her writings which added a realistic and natural touch. Even the little touches like the availability of snacks, coffee/tea, bottled water and homemade cookies, were very much appreciated. This was a two-day trip for a birthday celebration and the owners made it even more special for us. Miss Molly's location is in a lovely area and is central to the town's activities, restaurants and shops. Staying here is not only affordable but far superior to staying at a hotel. Definitely recommend booking the...
Read moreI was surprised after all the great reviews to be underwhelmed by Miss Molly’s. The assistant innkeeper was very kind and attentive when she was around, the bed in the Bay Room was very comfy, breakfast delicious, and the house adorable, but from the time of booking our stay to the the time of our departure, my husband and I felt like they took liberties with their advertisements. One of their add-on amenities was mispriced on their website, and they let us know we’d have to pay 2x the advertised price if we wanted to keep the amenity. Their breakfast is advertised as “three-course” but it’s really just three items: a waffle with a side of blueberries and a biscuit. It was the best biscuit I’ve ever had, but I wouldn’t call it a course. The house is quite small, and I found it difficult to maneuver in the hallways and in our room, and despite the wonderful array of teas, there was no water in the kettle and no accessible faucet to fill it up in.
I expected to be wowed and am disappointed that I wasn’t.
Edit: I believe the response below sums up why I was unimpressed by my stay. I could have forgiven all else if we hadn’t gotten off on the wrong foot with an argument. They added a second “tea for two” to our invoice without communicating the purpose of it until we called them to ask about it. When we shared the attached screenshot with the owner, rather than even apologizing for the inaccuracy, they...
