Continued from previous review
Once the police arrived, I explained the situation, the officers in the video, said this is domestic dispute between a business and a customer and there is nothing they can do. I then explained to them Chrisâs attitude, the language Chris used and behavior toward me, the officers pretty much kept saying there is nothing they can do and per the freedom of speech Chris can talk to anyone in any manner. To avoid confrontation, any further issues I then told them well, at least help us get the things from their room, like medicine and their cell phones and keys, have the fire department come break the door, the officers said unless there is an immediate need, they canât do it. I then excuse myself from them officers and told them I need to speak to my cousins in Sinhalese unless they need to get their own interpreter since they do not speak or understand too well, once the officers said go ahead, I turned to my cousins and asked them in Sinhalese, if they have anything they need right away from their room, my cousin told me he needs his blood pressure medicine and he is type 2 diabetic and he needs his medicine, I interpreted that to the officers in English which made them decide itâs an emergency reason to get the fire department to come break the door so, my cousin can have access to his medicine. The officers asked to have FRDP dispatch to the site and asked us all to go stay in our room, 221 until they arrive. I then turned to Chris and told him, all I need is a simple apology for speaking to me in such manner using fowl language being rude, Chris said âI donât owe you anythingâ. Little after 1:15am, Fire Rescue responded and went through the room we were staying and broke the adjoining room into room 223 and left. The officers handed us a piece of paper and said my cousins can go to this other hotel, 9100 Niagara Falls blvd, if they want to go another hotel. My cousins decided they will not got to another hotel since itâs late at night and they do not want to be separated from us as we have planned weeks ago to stay together in the same hotel since this is a vacation we have planned for weeks and decided to wait to speak to the manager in the morning.
None of this that happened is okay. I understand malfunctions can happen but to treat or speak to people with rudeness is not acceptable at all. My family and my cousins family are very disturbed by this entire situation. I have used Booking.com to reserve rooms for few years and have reserved rooms in other hotels and have never experienced such bad treatment. Moving forward, it is important to have the person who works midnight have access to defeat a locked door and used an admin access card to open a door in case of an emergency as such. Additionally, employees will need additional training on how to to better handle any situation with customers without using fowl language, offensive language or rude behavior in order to de escalate any situation that may get out of control due to unnecessary confrontations. If I were Chris, I wouldâve called the fire department myself and not wait for the customers to make that decision. That is what an exceedingly appropriate customer service should look like. I would also make sure not to offend my customers and respect them to the best of my abilities.
It was 2:16am, we were still sitting around trying to understand and comprehend everything that just happened. I pray, a manager from La Quinta here at Niagara Falls will contact me to discuss this matter and help us find a solution to our mental distress with this disturbing matter
We didnât sleep all night long because two families were sharing rooms with the adjunct door open and my cousins families only entrance into their room was through ours and of course this continued to the next...
Read moreI am hoping someone reads this review and passes it along to the hotel. I booked this hotel months ago and had selected early check in, because I was driving from VA and didn't know what time I would get there but wanted the room to be ready in any case. Upon arrival at 4:30 pm, I was told my room ( a King bed with sofa sleeper) was not clean yet but was in the process of being cleaned (this would take only 10 - 15 minutes more). Not sure why if normal check in is 3 pm, why the room wasn't already cleaned. Going up to the room I noticed some small issues. The walls in the hallway appeared to be abused having scrapes and marks up and down them. I would think someone with some paint could address those pretty easily. The elevator and floor in front of it on the second floor had what looked like drops from a spilled soda with dirt all over them. (Instead of someone mopping it up, it was there for the 4 days we stayed.) Not to mention a piece of dog food in the hallway that was there for the 4 days as well. There was a spider in a cocoon web, clearly alive on the trim of the room door 1 room down the hall. When I entered the room it seemed clean, until I walked on the floor which was sticky and seemed to have dirt around the edges. The top bed spread had food on it, which I took down to exchange. My wife ended up mopping the floor herself, after which the hand towel she used was black from all the dirt and hair. We contemplated leaving, however did not want to loose the money for the reservation due to the cancelation policy, so decided if we cleaned it, that would be fine. I took the dirty towels we used down to exchange for clean one, which after five minutes of waiting was given some new towels (which one was stained with black grease but folded under like I wouldn't notice.) I laughed and said thanks. We kept smelling a strange smell, and when we looked under the be a day later, there was a leftover food container under the bed airing out (who knows how long it had been there.) I took my dog out to the area they said was for pets. It was covered in dog poop. Clearly no one was picking up the mess because the bag holder was empty. I pointed this out twice to the staff who said they would take care of it (but to no surprise never did.) The dog area, other than having poop everywhere looked pretty gross, as they fence had giant sections missing among other things. Breakfast was alright, although they seemed to close it early if no one was getting food. Overall, because I am tired of typing, my stay was not worth the rate of 122$ per night. I believe the staff just lacked any sense of ownership, as every time I passed through the lobby they were talking or watching their phones or the tv in the lobby. I found this troubling because the messes in the hallway were easily visible and easy to correct if someone cared. Even the manager who i saw on numerous occasions did not care. No one said hello or good night, except for an older lady who checked me out on the last day. This hotel probably ranks with the lowest hotels I have stayed at (at least the others were rated at 60$ a night some not much was to be expected.) Definitely would not recommend to anyone, especially with a pet. Just pay the fee at a nice hotel and save yourself the trouble. Oh yeah, forgot, the sheets didn't fit the bed so they kept coming off at night, the freezer in the fridge was a giant useless ice block since it hadn't been defrosted since the dawn of time, and there was hair all around the sink in the bathroom. I do post good reviews too, this is...
Read moreI have very mixed feelings about this particular LA Quinta. The staff was excellent at check-in. The rooms were very clean except for a few minor things. There was no vanity lighting in the bathroom as there normally is in most LaQuinta Inn's. The carpet in the room that I stayed in, was quite grungy, and I experienced loud banging from the people who were staying in the room on the floor right above me, until after 1 am. I had to call down to the front desk to complain in order to get the noise to stop, and even then, you could hear most of the people in the halls or people upstairs walking the halls as well. But, the hotel itself was very well cared for. I do feel bad for the staff because it seems as though they were short-staffed and most were doing the jobs of three or more people. I believe that this hotel is probably a franchise owned LaQuinta and family owned as well. Parking is also a problem when the hotel is full. There is parking in the Home depot parking lot adjacent to the hotel, but that parking lot is not lit up so it doesn't feel as secure. đ The AC in the room was great once it got going, however it did take a few minutes to cool the room. The shower, however was exceptional. There were not enough towels though, and when we did ask for towels, we did not get a full replacement set. We only got bath towels. They do have an indoor pool but I did not have time to go for a swim while i was there as I had business to attend to when I was there. Would I stay there again? No. I can only say that if you want to stay super close to Niagra Falls for the convenience of being close to there for a decent price and have a decent room, to sleep in, it's a good place, but it isn't worth what I paid for the amount of time that I stayed there. For me personally, it was more hassle for the money than anything. My advice to the management there. Fix the cracks in your bathroom mirrors in the rooms, do a better job and hire more housekeeping staff and don't overwork your people, and for the love of all that is holy, when someone asks for towels, give them a full set, not just three bath towels, when they are paying nearly $1000k to stay in your facility for a week. It's the...
