I travel a lot on business, so you pick up on things that aren't right, and this place has more than their share. At check in, a gentleman of India descent (seems like all employees are from India) checked me in, no welcome, no greeting, like I was taking up his time. I wanted a first floor room but got stuck on the 4th floor. Where do we start? Since it appears that this hotel is owned/managed by India interests, it wouldn't be my first to see where they cut corners at every possible opportunity, and this place is no different.||The hot water is lame, they obviously keep hot water at cooler temperatures to save money, because you can turn the hot water full on, and your skin won't feel it or turn red. Either the water pressure stinks on the 4th floor or they have installed water flow restrictors in the shower to conserve water. Either way, if you're expecting to get a refreshing hot shower, forget it- it just is lame. Luke warm and water restrictors to limit the flow. The towels are small and never have they experienced fabric softener, more like sandpaper.||The first morning I was there I asked at the front desk (futile I know...) if they have water pressure problems on the 4th floor or are their flow restrictors in the shower heads. He grunted at me and like made a note to have maintenance check it, needless to say, nothing happened, or improved. You never feel "welcomed" as a guest here, you are treated more like an inconvenience to their day, even though you're the one paying for this miserable experience.||The TV has the worst selection of channels in America. There are no movie channels, and NO LOCAL CHANNELS. No ABC, CBS, NBC, so you can't even get the local weather or local news. I'm sure they save plenty by not offering local channels on their TV system, or movie channels. So all you get is the greatest assortment of worthless garbage channels you can imagine (but hey, think about how much money THEY save...).||After my first night there, came back to the room, they emptied the waste basket but didn't make up the bed. The "free" shampoo is the tiniest 1/2 ounce bottle you will see anywhere, and it got used the first night, but they didn't refresh it, so no shampoo- even a cheap tiny bottle is spending too much on a guest. The room had 2 queen beds but the one I slept in the first night, had me waking up in pain, it was so uncomfortable. I was afraid to look at the mattress- figure the bugs might have taken over. I moved over to the other bed which was only marginally better but still worn. Worst nights sleep ever. ||The "free" breakfast is a joke, the coffee is not brewed fresh, it is one of those cheap machines that mixes hot water with freeze dried coffee. Ugh. The "fresh" fruit at the counter is absolutely disgusting. I think they leave all the fresh fruit out until someone eats it, rather than throw it out when it is past its prime (SEE the pictures below) or the rotten bananas, and yes, that white stuff is MOLD on the oranges/tangerines. MOLD. It was obvious to every guest looking at it, but apparently the employees just don't care what they put of for guests. The rest of the fare is frozen/thawed egg whites / synthetic eggs, stale pastries, and yummy fresh fruit with mold.||In the breakfast area, it looked like someone puked on the floor and someone tried to mop it up with napkins, but the mess was still there to walk through. (See picture)||Another kicker is their disinfectant dispensers that read "Commitment to Clean." It's as dirty as you can get. (picture) Wastebaskets are grimy (pictures), and garbage piles up on wastebaskets and sit there for hours. (picture)||But they have one more surprise for you! At the bottom of the bill they whack you with a charge for the room safe "WITH a limited warranty!" I didn't even know this room had a safe, let alone get whacked another $6.00 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Even if I found the safe, no one used it. What a total ripoff this place is.||I have no doubt they will go in and audit the toilet paper to see how many sheets were used and send me a bill.||So if you like a hotel that cuts corners at every possible place they can, (hot water, not making up the beds, etc.) offers moldy food, dirty floors, bottom of the barrel TV, have at it.||Who ever owns/manages this place has done everything they can to cheapen the experience at the expense of the guest, even coming up with a bogus "safe" charge for something no one uses anyway. Food service, TV, hot water, poor housekeeping, hidden "safe" charges, are all areas they have severely cut corners on or gouged you on, and it's the guest who pays for it. If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. Not that they even care- they simply don't. Guests are simply revenue extraction opportunities, offering as little value as possible, and gouging the guest at every opportunity they can find. There are many other hotel choices in the immediate vicinity, I'd suggest you explore your options, unless you simply enjoy abuse at every...
Read moreI was visiting the Columbus area with three of my good friends over a weekend in October 2022. (We arrived on a Friday afternoon and stayed through Sunday morning.) One of my friends reserved two rooms for the four of us, and we were fortunately able to have our rooms next door to each other. I was in Room #417 with one of my friends, and our two other friends were in Room #419.||||The property is very, very nice... looks fairly new. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. I appreciated being able to use the business center computer in the lobby. The hotel has an indoor pool (no hot tub, unfortunately). Also, breakfast is available, but we opted to eat breakfast elsewhere for the two mornings of our stay.||||There were a couple of significant problems during our stay. First, the power to the building mysteriously went out at the same time both nights during our stay (around 10 p.m.). Very inconvenient, and we have no idea what caused the outage. Apparently, the hotel staff didn't know either when we asked about it on Sunday morning. It was strange because it did not appear that any other buildings near the hotel had lost any power. Fortunately, the outages only lasted no more than 15 minutes each night... but on the first night, it happened after my friend and I had turned in for the night. We kept the fan running constantly which stopped during the Friday night outage... and I sleep with a CPAP which of course stopped working as well due to the outage. Very bizarre, and then it happened again on Saturday night.||||Another problem we encountered was that the elevator had stopped working during our stay. Perhaps due to the power outage, but maybe not. After the power to the building was restored, the elevator was still not operable.||||Lastly, our group had an awkward encounter with one of the gentlemen working the front desk. We had gone to a convenience store nearby to pick up some snacks, and this gentleman made an awkward joke about us not being allowed to bring the snacks inside. He was trying to be funny but he was not funny at all. The joke just went flat and I don't think he realizes how unprofessional that was.||||Overall, this hotel has the potential to be a great place for guests to stay. We were not impressed with our experience here, and I can't say I'd want to stay here again...
Read moreMy husband and I was staying at Comfort Suites for the 1st time celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We live in Miami and asked my niece to send us a list of hotels that were near the airport because she knows the area. We booked from 8/24 thru 8/31/23. The 1st night the bed was horrible we asked for a room changed. No problem done.8/25 we switched to 4th floor. Bed was better, no problem.8/26 ok. 8/28 we went out came home I laid across the bed to watch t.v. fell asleep. Woke to adjust pillow while doing so I saw a black spot on the pillow I pulled closer the dot moved. I yelled to my husband there was something on the pillow. I moved it and the object moved he cut on the light it was a flat bug that moved fast. we were able to place it in a cup. I initially thought it was a tick because we could hear dogs bark during the nite. We called front desk to report the bug it was already after midnight. The man on the other side said he could not come up to the room so my husband took it down for him to see. He told my husband he could change us to another room. I searched online and saw pictures and identified the bug as a bedbug. I could not get back into the bed and didn't want another room. My husband slept on the couch I stayed up the remainder of the night. We packed, went to the front desk and told them we were checking out on 8/29 the following morning. We called American Airlines, paid the additional money to change our flight back to Miami. They were able to get us flights the same day at 7 pm. We did show the attendant working the front desk the bug and informed him we were checking out. He said there was no manager on sight and someone would call me. No one from Comfort Suites has called me or my husband. I am still jumpy as I post these pictures. Please check out your room when you check in at any hotel. I will never book a room with Comfort Suites. This was my first time and last!! We are still waiting to have this...
