My family reunion gathered July 24 - 27th, 2025 and we stayed at the Staybridge hotel on Airport drive. Disappointed with our stay is an understatement. In my opinion, the facility was not safe nor fit to host senior citizen guest or families with small children. The problems we encountered at the hotel seem to be ongoing concerns per the recent hotel reviews. I say that to say, for the betterment of customer service; the hotel could have taken precautions or made us aware of the concerns before we arrived. The hotel has one elevator and it was not working properly. That was a serious inconvenience for our elderly. The facility has an unhealthy housekeeping practice as well. They do not clean the rooms over the weekend unless the guest is checking out. I have a baby and my trash cans were overflowing with waste, including dirty diapers. In fact, all of our trash cans were overfilled with waste. The shower head and sink faucet in my room were filthy. The shower head noticeably had not been cleaned in a long time. I asked the front desk for cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself. There is a racist night time staff member at the facility named Brie Isaac who went out of her way to torment us the last night of our stay. Several family members cars were vandalized Saturday night. Had Brie been paying more attention to safety concerns of the facility parking lot, instead of harassing us maybe the vandalism could have been prevented. Also, Brie Isaac made threatening remarks to us that were unwarranted. Our family had food in the lobby area. We happily shared our food with the manager Brie and other hotel guest. Shortly after Brie ate our dinner, she began to harass us and forced us to leave the lounge sitting area. Our family gathered in the lounge area every night during our stay. No guests or staff members bothered us and we didn’t bother them. The only person bothered by our presence was the manager on Saturday night, Brie. We were not loud, rude, unruly or anything of the kind. She asked us to put away our food and beverages after she ate, we complied. Unsure of why we were being asked to do so because no other hotel representative had a problem with our gathering. I asked for the contact information for upper management and her tone and mannerisms became aggressive. She then for no reason threatened to call the police on us. We said that’s fine because we haven’t broken any laws and feel we’re being violated. She came over to where we were sitting two more times after that finding reasons to complain about our presence there and proceeded with the threats. She stated we needed to leave the area so she could clean up for breakfast. Then she proceeded to turn the lights out as we were still sitting there. I question how much cleaning was she going to do with the lights off? The hotel experienced a power outage. Why are there no back up generators in place? All of these shortcomings and yet, we did not complain. The mistreatment we received from the manager Brie forced me to send this communication. As I feel it is necessary to highlight the lower than acceptable service we experienced. As the host for my family reunion this year, I am ashamed I chose your facility to house my family during this time. I would imagine we spent well over $15k with your organization. Sadly, I will not recommend this hotel nor will I...
Read moreI expected better from a Staybridge. I was extremely disappointed. From the 50+ hotels room I have stayed world wide, this is by far the worst. I don't know if it's because I expected better from a Staybridge that I am so disappointed. I can, for sure, say that the cost to stay at this hotel is over priced for what one gets.
The room was in dire need of a remodel.
There was a white hanger under the dresser. It seems it was under it to maintain it place.
There was a hole on the bottom of the closet wall. I learned later that there was a closet door missing, and it seems that the hole was for the attachment hook for that door.
The bathtub needs resurfacing. It was so scratched up that I thought it was dirty.
The pull-out couch was damages and the fabric was broken. If we needed to use the sofa bed, it would had bee impossible.
Seeing the conditio of the room, I kept my clothes in my luggage. I couldn't dare use any of the drawers afraid of finding the unexpected.
The beds were hard and uncomfortable.
The breakfast was not up to level with other Staybridge locations or better yet to other IHG locations.
One may say these are petty complaints, but a room $172 a night in the Columbus, Ohio area is quite high. There's no reason to walk into a room that represents a $99 or less motel room. Ohio is not a high cost living state, which means that $172 is quite high for a hotel room. I have stayed at other IHG hotel rooms in Ohio for a lot less, and the rooms were in 100% better conditions than the room I stayed at Staybridge. I have stayed at many IHG locations to know the difference (based on locations) to know what $99 to a $500 a night room cost.
When I brought up the room condition to the from desk representative, I was told that all the hotel was in the process of renovations. However, I didn't see anything that remotely appeared that the hotel was renovating. I did see that the carpet in the halls were a little bit newer that the rooms, but the carpets in rooms cannot compare.
I do apologize for such a review. It is my first negative review in more than 15 years. Either remodel the hotel and keep the same prices for your rooms or lower the prices.
This location is NOTa three star hotel.
To top everything off...the hotel lost power on Thursday, making it impossible to get ready for the night...
We stayed at your hotel for memorial day weekend to attend a graduation ceremony and party for my niece. When we arrived your staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and we felt very comfortable. We had our two dogs with us. A shih tzu and a Maltipoo. When we walked the dogs we would go out the side door, walk around the building and come in the front door. We did this 4-5 times throughout the day. When we left the hotel for the day we put the dogs in their crates in the bathroom to keep them from hearing a lot of hotel traffic. We turned both tvs up and We also gave them calming chewys and calming collars. We came back to the hotel every 4 hours to let them out and let them get exercise. We walked passed the front desk numerous times, even rode the elevator with one of your workers once with the dogs with us and once just us. No one ever mentioned there being a problem with our dogs. One night we came down stairs to get drinks and the lady at the front desk said “ Hey hey what room are you in! We received another complaint about your dogs making a lot of noise and carrying on. You can not leave them in the hotel if you aren’t with them. I contacted my manager and she said if there’s another complaint about them you will be asked to leave the hotel. I tried calling your cell phone and it went to voicemail and I tried calling your room and no one answered.” I was completely confused because we’ve never been told until this moment that there was any complaint about our dogs. I immediately checked my phone and there wasn’t a missed call or a voicemail. I also checked my email and there was no email from the hotel either. Look I know my dogs aren’t perfect and we tried to prevent any issues from happening BUT if you allow dogs you have to realize when the neighbors are loud which they were, the dogs are gonna react. Don’t tell me you had another complaint, when you didn’t inform me of any complaint beforehand. The rest of our trip became stressful, cause my sister is allergic to dogs and for two days my dogs couldn’t stay at the hotel while we visited at her house or we’d get kicked out! So we had to put them in their crates outside on her porch until we went back to the hotel at night. It’s a shame too because we were really liking your hotel and having an amazing visit with family until all...
